Chapter 23

Alice:

Angela said flustered, “Don’t do that, you scared me.” I smile as I turn to her and say, “I want you to meet someone that I hope will like you too.” Brandon began to laugh then said, “If he comes, you better be ready to beg for forgiveness.” I scrunched up my face then said as I covered my face, “I totally forgot he was going to be mad.” I quickly ran out of the room and made my way to the kitchen. The maids that were in the kitchen looked at me surprised, then I said, “Where is the meat kept?” One of them pointed to a big metal door then I ran to it and opened it. I saw big portions of meat hanging around the room, I quickly grabbed one and said as I swung it over my shoulder, “We are going to need to order a lot of lamb meat.” The same maid nodded and I ran back to my room. 

As I entered the room I heard flapping faraway. I smiled then said to Angela, “Come here Angela, I want you to meet my son Lux.” As soon as I finished saying that there was a gust of wind then there was a red and black scaled dragon’s head on the balcony. I smiled then said as I ran towards him, “My beautiful Lux!” He grunted as he moved away from me. I felt hurt that he had done that and I lowered my head then said as I began to cry, “I’m sorry I left you alone for a long time.” Angela walked to me and said as she hugged me, “It’s okay, don’t cry.” Lux came closer and Angela said, “She wanted to see you and even got you a present but you are such a bad son.” My eyes widened as I heard her say that and I was about to stop Lux from hurting her when he pushed us playfully. I looked at him then at Angela and said, “He’s usually not nice to anyone other than me and my mother.” She looked at me surprised and said, “I’m glad he didn’t kill me.” I smiled then said to Lux, “I got you some good meat.” He exhaled making us move back from the force but he got closer to me and put his head on the floor. I walked up to him and hugged his big head. 

I felt his hot scales and I smiled remembering the wind around me as we flew around the whole kingdom. I patted his head then said, “I found you a father.” He quickly moved and I smiled as I nodded my head before tossing the meat towards him. He quickly grabbed it and began to eat it eagerly. Angela smiled then said, “What was that sudden confession?” I smiled then said, “It’s a topic we need to discuss with our mother later.” She smiled and Brandon interrupted us by saying, “I managed to get Lady Angela’s measurements, can I do yours so I can let you two play with Lux?” I smiled then said as I walked to him, “You better finish before he finishes his food.” He sighed but began to measure me. He did as I said and finished within a few minutes then said, “I will send you some designs and just let me know which ones you want.” I said as I grabbed Angela’s hand, “We will walk you out.” I turn to Lux and say, “We will go outside.” He looked at us then went back to devouring his meal. 

We walked outside with Brandon and I said as I looked at the catalog he had brought, “I want these 3 designed in black, red, violet, burgundy and the same colors with lace.” He smiled then said, “The usual.” I nodded then said, “Make me different clothes for battle as well but they have to be color black only.” He nodded, then Angela said, “I like this design.” I looked at it and said, “Very cute choice, sis.” She smiled then said, “I want it in black or blue.” I smiled then said, “Make her light blue, light green, light purple and a black one. Add a battle one for her too.” She looked at me then said, “I think that’s too many.” I smiled then said, “Aside from the dresses, we are going to go shopping tomorrow for casual wear. This is only for formal wear to parties.” She nodded, then said, “I feel weird receiving all these things.” I smile then say to Brandon, “I think she looks better in these colors but you can add more if you like.” He nodded then said, “You too share a resemblance even though you are not related by blood.” I nod then say as we hear a loud burp, “I think you should get going before Lux gets jealous.” He nods then bows before he runs to his car and leaves. 

Angela was holding her laughter but as soon as she saw me laughing she began to laugh too. Lux gave us a playful push with his tail since we were ignoring him. I turn and see his now bigger stature than before. I say loudly, “You got so big!” Angela looked at him then said, “He’s really intimidating.” I laugh knowing he heard her but he lays on the floor and hints to me to get on him. I smile then say to Angela, “Want to come with me?” She looked at me scared then said, “I don’t think I should.” I smile and say, “Come on, do something daring for once. This is something special and I promise you will love it.” She looked at me conflicted but then she took my hand and said, “I have to learn these things for the future.” I smile then say, “You can always play with your nephew.” She begins to laugh as Lux wraps his tail gently around us. 

He places us on his back and I carefully make my way to his neck where he has two rows of spikes running down each side of him. I grab one and I say to Angela, “Find a spike that you can hold on to properly before I tell him to fly.” She begins to search then decides to grab the one opposite to me and says, “I’m ready.” I inhale deeply then give another whistle. He gets up and walks away from the castle before beginning to flap his wings. I keep my eyes on Angela making sure she doesn’t fall as we begin to ascend. 

The wind begins to move wildly around us and before we know it we are in the air. The wind settles down and I look at Angela who is holding tightly to the spike. I smile then say as I let go of my spike and walk to her carefully, “You’re missing the view with your eyes closed.” She smiles nervously and I grab her face as I say, “Open your eyes. It’s very beautiful up here.” She grabs my hands and takes a deep breath as she opens her eyes slowly as she looks at me with fear. I hold my laughter then say, “Your nephew would be hurt if he saw your face.” She smiled weakly then looked around me and said as her expression relaxed, “Wow, this is beautiful.” I turned around and saw the mountains in the distance and the trees that resemble a green sea from this distance. I begin to look around as I spot the river that was the hiding place for Lux and I. 

Lux begins to descend and I say as we get closer, “This is our favorite place and I think Lux likes you too.” She looked around with awe and curiosity but managed to say, “How do you know he likes me?” I smile as I say, “This is our secret place, he won’t allow just anyone to come here.” She looked at me then said, “I’m so honored.” Lux landed and I grabbed Angela before she fell. I was used to flying on him but I knew she would fall at any moment. She said, “I’m sorry.” I smile and say as I walk toward Lux’s tail, “Come on, we need to get down so I can show you around.” She followed and as I got to the edge of his back I sat down and slid down his tail.
