Chapter 22

Alice:

We walk deep into the woods and I say as she stops on a tree to rest, “Where are you going?” She looks at me then says angrily, “I thought you were different but you did exactly what she did!” I walked up to her and said, “I had to do that.” She frowns and I add as I smile, “If I didn’t do it then you wouldn’t be free.” She gave me a confused look then I showed her her slave card. I gave it to her then said, “If you want to run away you can but it will be your choice as a free person.” She grabbed the card and said as she looked at it, “Are you serious?” I nodded and then said, “Of course.” She smiled then said, “Why are you doing this?” I looked at her then said, “I think you’re a nice person even though you had a ruff life.” She smiled then said, “My mother always told me to be nice to others no matter what they did to me.” I smiled then said, “I was taught to earn what I want and fight for what’s right.” She smiled then said, “We are too different.” I said as I leaned on the tree, “I have a job offer for you, if you’re interested?” She looked at me curiously then said, “What would it be?” I smiled then said as I walked closer to her and whispered in her ear, “You can be my replacement.” She frowned then said, “That’s not going to work.” I shake my head then say, “It will work and you will become my adoptive sister, if you want.” She looked at me worriedly then said, “What does your mother think about this idea?” I chuckled then said, “I think she would prefer to have you as a daughter than me.” She frowned then said, “You haven’t told her.” I smiled then grabbed her hand then said as I dragged her back to the castle, “Let’s go ask her.” 

She tried to protest as I dragged her into the castle. Some of the servants gave us weird looks and I said to her, “See, it’s going to be easy to adjust.” I knocked on my mother’s room and Hanna opened the door. She bowed and I said, “You can stay.” I entered the room and Angela was walking behind me. My mother said as she saw me, “What are you doing to that young girl?” I looked at her then said in a shocked tone, “Why do you think I’m doing something to her?” She gave me a playful glare then said, “Show her to me, she looks adorable.” I smiled then moved to the side to let her see Angela. She smiled then said, “She’s really adorable, she kind of reminds me of…” She stops talking and looks at me. I had turned my hair dark brown and I said, “What do you think?” Hanna also looked at us with shocked eyes and my mother said, “What’s going on here?” I smiled then said, “Can we adopt her?” My mother frowned, then said, “What are you planning?” I smiled then said as I changed my hair back to normal, “I want her to pass for me when I am in battle.” My mother looked at me with anger then said, “I will not let you go into battle.” I sighed then said, “We can talk about that later. Can we adopt her?” My mother looked at Angela then said with a smile, “Of course, I think she will listen to me more than you.” I chuckled then said, “I think she will.” Angela looked at us confused then said softly, “But I don’t know what to do.” I smiled then said as I looked at Hanna, “Hanna, please prepare private tutors to come and teach my new sister.” She nodded and I said to Angela, “You’re going to sleep in my room until we fix your room.” She looked at me scared then said, “I can’t do that.” I grabbed her hand and said, “That was not a request, little sis.” I once again dragged her behind me. The laughter of my mother followed us as we left.

Sebastian:

The ride back was quiet and I felt numb in a way. As soon as we got back to the pack house, Alpha John was waiting for me outside. I got out of the car and he said, "I'm sorry about what happened with your mate. Is she okay?" I sighed as I said, "I don't want to talk about this at the moment." He nodded then said, "Sorry. I just want you to know that if she is alive then you will have all the time in the world to get her back." He had a sad and faraway look as he said that and I understood he said this because he could never have his mate with him. I gave him a pat on the shoulder as I walked past him and made my way to my room. I went straight to sleep and I felt so loss. I dreamt of my sweet mate and that seemed to sooth my heart ache.

Alice:

As we got closer to the room I noticed a maid knocking on my door. I said as I got closer, “How can I help you?” She turned and said as she bowed, “The tailor is here for the fitting.” I smiled then said, “Bring him to my room.” She looked at me then gave an angry look at Angela as she bowed again. I quickly said to her, “I expect you and all other servants to treat Angela as if she were me. As of this moment, she has become a part of the Royal Family and as such she deserves the same respect as I do.” The maid gulped loudly and said, “I’m sorry for my rude behavior, Lady Angela.” I smiled then said as I looked at Angela’s tear filled eyes, “Bring the tailor.” The maid scurried away and I said to Angela, “I meant everything I said, as of this moment you are part of our family and that means that you are a Royal Princess.” She nodded as tears fell down her face. I gave her a quick hug before saying, “Today we are going to get the tailor to make us new clothes.” She smiled then said, “I’m really grateful for all of this.” I nodded, then dragged her into my room. 

We were sitting in my bed talking about random things when there was a knock on the door. I said, “Come in.” The maid had returned and said as she bowed, “Lady Alice and Lady Angela, the tailor Mr. Usman.” She moved to the side and we saw a young man, maybe younger than us but well dressed and I said, “What happened to Alfred Usman?” The man said as he bowed, “He was my father and he passed away while traveling.” I sighed then said to Angela, “A lot of things have changed since I left.” Angela nodded but said to the man, “Please, come in.” He entered and the maid waited for further instructions and I said, “Thank you, you may return to your duties.” She bowed then left.

I got up and said as I looked at the man, “You were a lot smaller when I met you.” He smiled then said, “Yes, I was still young 100 years ago.” I smiled then said, “How has immortality treated you, Brandon?” He raised his hands and said as he turned, “It has treated me good.” I smile and say to Angela, “This is Brandon Usman, he is the son of my former tailor.” She got up and said as she stretched her arm, “Nice to meet you.” Brandon smiled then said as he took her hand and kissed it, “It is a pleasure to meet such a beauty.” I grab her hand and say, “You came here to work, not flirt with my new sister.” His jaw dropped as he looked at me surprised but quickly recovered as he said, “I didn’t know your mother remarried.” I shook my head then said, “I like this girl so I asked my mother to adopt her today and she agreed.” He smiled then said to Angela, “I would love to be a brother to Alice, she can take care of others very well.” I give him a playful glare then say, “We promised not to talk about the time you ran away from home.” He began to blush then said, “I was referring to how you took care of your horse and the baby dragon.” My eyes widened then  said, “Have you seen Lux?” He shook his head then said, “I haven’t but I hear that he is nearby waiting for you to return.” I place my hand on my lips then say as I begin to walk towards the balcony, “Get the measurements for Angela first.” He smiled then said, “Lady Angela, please come and stand here.” I heard her slowly walk to him as I opened the balcony doors. I turned to them and saw him grabbing a notebook, pencil and measuring tape. I looked outside then without warning I whistled loudly.
