Chapter 29

Sebastian:

We got back to the Silver Moon territory without incident but I still felt uneasy. I kept trying to remember who Alpha Darius was but I couldn't remember. As soon as I saw Alpha John I asked, "Do you know who Alpha Darius is?" He gave me a surprised look then said, "How do you know that name?" I looked at him puzzled then said, "A she-wolf claiming to be his daughter asked me to go to their table while we were in a club." He began to rub his chin then said, "He had a daughter but it was rumored she dies a long time ago." I frown and say, "Why would someone want to impersonate his daughter or him?" He gave me a worried look then said, "He had a decent size pack called the Blood Moon Pack." As he said that I gave him a glare but he said, "Your great-grandfather fought him for the Alpha title and won. He didn't want to kill him so he just injured him enough to make him forfeit but the pack was now his. Alpha Darius gave up the pack and left with his beta, third and a few people that wanted to follow him. Your great-grandfather did not object and he gained more pack members that day." I sigh then say, "So, this Alpha Darius could be the same one?" He shrugged then said, "Rumor has it that he died but no one really confirmed it and no one knows where he went after he left the pack." I nod then say, "I guess I will have to look into it." He nods then I say, "Good night, I'm going to rest." He said, "Good night, rest well." 

I went to my room and as I entered I sighed feeling my depression and anger once again fall on me. I sigh and Rex said, 'We should go confirm if she really left.' I chuckle then said, 'If she really left then that will just hurt us more.' He sighed but said, 'Maybe but we will be sure.' I sighed but before I said anything else my phone rang. I looked at it and I picked up and said, "Hey dad, is everything okay?" He said in a rough voice, "Your grandmother has passed away." I felt pain in my heart and I said, "How? When?" He said as his voice cracked, "She died in her sleep, today." My tears began to roll and I said with a broken voice, "I will be there in the morning." He said as I heard his voice finally give up trying to hold his emotions in, "I need you to go get her stuff. I can't get myself to go there." I sighed then said, "Sure, dad." He sniffled then said, "I know it will be hard for you too." I sniffle then say, "I will be fine, get some rest and I will see you first thing in the morning." He said, "Thank you." I hang up the phone then mind link Jon about us leaving in the morning and I told Klive that he was going to stay in my place to help protect them. 

The next morning I woke up early feeling empty inside. I lost my mother figure and I was away form my mate as well. I quickly got up and took a shower. I got ready in a breeze and by the time I was downstairs I thought I was going to wait for Jon but to my surprise he was waiting for me to leave. As soon as he saw me he said, "Do you want to eat breakfast now or on the way?" I said as I walked up to him, "We can get something on the way." He nodded and we left.

We had gotten fast food on the way and it was about to be noon when we arrived to the pack border. As soon as the guards saw us they opened the gate and we went straight to the pack house. I walked up to my dad's room but he wasn't there so I went to my grandmother's old room. My father was laying in her bed and was curled up hugging a pillow. I walked in and said, "Dad, are you okay?" He opened his eyes slowly then said, "She helped me get through losing your mother now I feel lost." I sigh then said as I walked to him and sat next to him, "She was like a mother to me as well but we have to remember that she stayed with us even after grandpa died." He looked at me then said, "Yes, that's right. Our path after our mate dies is to follow them shortly but she waited until now." I nod and he sits up as he says, "She must have been at ease once she knew you had found your mate." I smile and say, "Maybe." He hugs me then says, "I will go rest for a bit." I help him up and take him to his room.

After I make sure he has fallen asleep I make my way to the kitchen to get more coffee. As I walk in I see Jon siting down by the counter with a fresh pot of coffee and two cups. As soon as he sees me he says, "What are we doing first?" I sigh then say, "we're going to clean her room and then we will go to the funeral home." He pours me a cup of coffee then says, "Drink up." I take the cup and begin to drink it slowly preparing myself to go to the nursing home to get her stuff and enter the reality that my mate has left.

We arrive to the nursing home and as we walk in a nurse says, "Hello sir, how can I help you?" I sigh then say, "I came to collect the things of my grandmother, Mary Brown." She had a hurt look then said, "I'm sorry for your loss. We really loved your grandmother, my friend will be truly hurt when she finds out." I'm a bit intrigued by her friend I ask, "Who is your friend?" She smiles then says, "She was a nurse here, she loved your grandmother a lot. Her name is Alice." I feel my heart skip a beat as I hear her name and hearing she loved my grandmother a lot. I smile then say, "Do you know why she left?" She looked at me confused then said, "How do you know that?" I smile sadly then say, "My father told me." She gave me a guilty look then someone said form behind us, "She had a family emergency that she had to attend to." I quickly recognized the voice and scent of the man. He was the one that ruined our night but also helped us get closer to each other, the man she called James. I turned to him and the nurse said, "Hey, babe. You're early." He smiles and says, "I know, I just couldn't wait to be away form you." He gave her a loving look and it almost looked like the look a werewolf gives their mate. She smiles gives him a hug then says, "I still have 30 minutes before my shift ends. Please wait for me a bit." He smiles and says, "I'll wait to the end for you." She smiles then says, "Come this way sir. I'll take you to her room." I wave my hand and say, "I know where it is." She nods and walks away. I turn to James and ask, "Is she your mate?" He looks at me and says, "Yes, she's the reason why I'm not with Alice at the moment." I growl low and he says quickly, "Sorry, let me rephrase. I had to stay back because of my mate instead to go help my master." I give him a confused look and he adds, "I am a servant of Alice." I was still confused and he said, "She saved me as a child and since then we have been inseparable. She is my master and her family has become my family." I nod in understanding then say, "Is she okay?" He smiles then says, "Yes." I sigh then say, "I have to go make preparations for my grandmother's funeral." He nods then says, "She talked to me about her, she really admired her." I nod then walk away.
