Chapter 31

We head back to Silver Moon and as we arrived I saw Klive waiting for us by the border. As soon as he saw us he ran to us and as soon as the car stopped he opened my door and said, "I need you to hurry up." I looked at him confused then said, "What happened?" He looked at me worried then glanced towards Jon but kept quiet. I got out of the vehicle and said to Jon, "Go inside and park." He looked at us but didn't say anything as he drove inside. I look at Klive and said, "What's going on?" He said as he looked around, "Alpha John was gravely injured and may die." I frown and say, "Where's Laura?" He sighs as he says, "She's with him." I nod then say, "How is she?" He hesitates before saying, "She's not in a good state of mind." I nod then say, "Let's go see them." He nods and we begin to make our way to the pack hospital when a bone chilling howl was heard. We looked at each other and then began to run. We saw as pack members began to cry and I said, "I think he passed away." Klive looked at me concerned then said, "I'm worried about Laura." I nod and as we entered the hospital we see Jon holding Laura. She's crying and she has extended claws and her wolf in in full control. She was crying and as she  cried I saw her look at me. She pushed Jon and said, "You! This was your fault!!" I looked at her confused then said, "How is this my fault?" She attacked me as she said, "You ordered the attack!" Klive got in front of me and said, "Why would our Alpha do that?" She threw him to the side as she said, "Because he wants to take our territory!" Jon ran next to me and said, "Why do you think he wants your territory?" She looks at him angrily then I say, "Why would I want your father dead? If I wanted this territory I would have killed the two of you." She glared at me then Jon said, "What the Alpha means is that this territory belong to you." She looks at Jon confused then we see her turn back to normal. She is still crying and says, "If you weren't involved then why did the rogue in the dungeon tell me you are their leader?" I looked at him confused then said, "What do you mean?" She cleaned her tears with her hands then said, "Let's go." We all followed her and as we entered the dungeon the rogue laughed and said, "You are a weak Alpha!" I saw Laura look at him shocked then he said, "You had one mission and you failed." He grinned and I said, "Who are you?" He looked at me and Klive said, "We captured him in the attack." I glare at him and say, "Who sent you?" He looked around then said, "You can't make me talk. We all have a curse on us and can't tell you anything." This guy was arrogant and I wanted to kill him. I sigh and say as I place my hand on Laura's shoulder, "You should go get ready for your Alpha Ceremony." She looks at me weird then says, "I'm not doing my ceremony until we do my father's funeral."  Jon took her hand and said, "That's fine." She hugged him and I said, "I'm going to have to talk to the two of you later." Jon nodded and Laura asked, "What are you going to do?" I smile as I roll my sleeves up, "I have to chat with our new friend." Jon shakes his head then says, "Let's go, he's not in a good mood." Laura looked at Jon confused but walked out with him. 

I cracked my knuckles then said to the rogue, "Why did you want to kill me?" He smirked then said, "I can't tell you that." I smile and say as I walk in his cell, "You will tell me something." I spent a few hours torturing him but he did not talk more than I would have liked. I got frustrated and decided to call it a night once I noticed it was getting late. I returned to the pack house and made myself a sandwich before going to bed. I was a feeling restless again and Rex said, 'Do you think our mate is thinking about us?' I smile then say as I get ready for bed, 'I think so. The note she left us was very loving.' I felt myself smile as I said that and my wolf felt it too. I laid in bed and as I took a deep breath I felt sleep take me away. I woke up the next morning sweating and panting. I felt scared and I was panting from the nightmare I was having. I took a deep breath and even Rex was not feeling well. He was restless and I could feel his uneasiness as I sat up and made my way to the bathroom.

Alice:

I woke up to feeling uneasy and very anxious but it disappeared within a few seconds. I sat up quickly feeling how it just randomly disappeared and I looked around my room but wasn’t sure why I was having these sudden feelings. I looked at my watch and decided to call James. The phone rang and then he said, “Is everything okay?” I said quickly, “Can you look in my old phone and get me his number?” He said worriedly, “Is everything okay?” I sighed then said, “I don’t know but I’m worried about him.” He said, “What’s your password?” I said, “1546.” He entered it and said, “I will send it to you as a text okay?” I said, “Okay.” He added, “I will speak to Jane today and if she agrees I will let you know.” I nodded but realized he couldn’t see me so I said before hanging up, “Okay.” As soon as I had hung up I received his message. 

I dialed his number quickly and waited for him to pick up. He said, “Hello?” I smiled hearing his voice then said, “Hi.” I heard him gasp softly then say to someone else, “I have to take this call.” I heard him walking and closing a door before he said, “Where are you?” I smiled and said as my heart pounded from just hearing his voice, “I had to return home but I will go see you as soon as I can.” He stayed silent so I added, “Well, that’s if you still want me around.” He sighed then said, “You could have told me that you had to go.” I sighed then said, “It was difficult for me to leave you as it was. If I had told you then I don’t think I would have been able to return.” He sighed then said, “Did your friend tell you what I said?” I sighed then said, “Yes.” He said, “My father is going to propose a marriage pact with the Princess of the Vampires and I will have to marry her.” I said softly, trying to keep my voice calm and without excitement, “If it is good for your people I understand.” He let out a growl then said, “Why would you let me go so easily?!!” I flinched hearing the hurt in his voice then I said, “If you want I will try to speak to her but I don’t know what she will say to me.” He said, upset, “You should have been with me since we first met.” I wanted to tell him everything but I knew that I needed to stick to the plan so I said sadly, “I’m sorry.” I hung up the phone and put it on silent. He called me three times but I didn’t pick up knowing that if I did I would spill everything. The sadness and pain returned but this time I realized it was because of him.
