I stood, anticipating hearing what he had to say.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered as he stood in front of me.
My heart flew out of my chest.
He’s sorry? What was he sorry for?
“What are you sorry for?” I asked, my heart racing.
He stared at me for a long second and started laughing. “You need to see the look on your face. I would have taken a picture.”
I let out a relieved sigh but the tension in my chest didn’t completely leave. He still hadn’t told me what I was hoping to hear. “You’re unbelievable,” I said, shaking my head.
He shrugged, still grinning. “I’m sorry for keeping you out of the loop all this while. And also being cold to you whenever you asked me about the situation.”
My lips parted and I blinked. Did I just hear him apologize to me?
