Raven's POV The metal keys clinked loudly against the bottom of the floor drain, it echoed in the dead silence and at that moment, I realised two f*****g things; this Alpha was definitely out of his goddamn mind, and I was definitely going to have to bleed to get out of here. But right now, I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of seeing me panic. I smirked, took slow, calculated strides to his workbench, no boots echoing against the concrete, then picked up the heaviest, most filthy wrench I could find. It was coated in rust and grease and weighed like a damn brick in my hand. I sighed softly, spun to face him, tapping the wrench against my leather clad thigh. “Hey Alpha…open the door. I'm not a f*****g stray dog you can just lock up” Kai didn't move, he didn't even flinch. His chest was heaving so hard, those grey eyes locked onto mine as though I was the best meal he'd ever seen. The light flickering above casted this shadow across his sharp jaw line and made him look like a terrifying god. “Your pulse is going f*****g crazy” he drawled lazily, taking a slow step forward. “... you're dripping sweat and your wolf is literally begging and howling for me. Put. The. Toy. Down” He said it so casually, so sure of his goddamn self and it made my blood boil. My breath caught in my throat as I gripped the wrench even tighter. “Tsk…I would rather bash your f*****g skull in” Then, I swung. The wrench sliced through the air, aiming right at his temple, but his move was faster. His hand shot out, smoothly grabbing my wrist then spined me around. I gasped, my back slamming hard against the cold steel shutter of the garage door. I felt the air leave my lungs. The wrench fell to the ground with this sickening, loud sound. But, before I could react, he suddenly pinned both of my wrists above my head with just one huge hand. His body slammed into mine, all suffocating heat and hard muscle. I could feel every inch of him…literally. Could feel the way his chest pressed against my breasts and the unmistakable hardness pressing into my stomach. “You're f*****g trouble, you know that, huh?” He growled, his voice barely sounding human. “Get..get off me!” I struggled. Instead, he cracked his mouth down on mine. It wasn't gentle or sweet. It was all tongues, teeth and desperation, so violently my head spun. I tried to fight him, to bite his f*****g tongue, but unfortunately, my body had other plans. I involuntarily arched my hips into his, a moan escaping my throat before I had a chance to stop it. He groaned against my mouth, it was this low, guttural sound that literally vibrated through my whole body. His free hand slid down and grabbed my ass, pulling me even harder against his erection. I could feel him through my leather pants, heavy and big, grinding right where I needed it most. “Say my f*****g name, babe” he growled against my throat. “I don't know your name, psycho” He ground even harder, a moan slipped my throat and my vision went white for a second. “Kai. Say it, babe” I gasped, hating the way my body was betraying me. “...ka…Kai” His lips curled up. “Good girl” We were literally seconds away from tearing each other's clothes off right here, right now. I could feel it in the way my body grew hotter and my thighs were shaking, in the way his hands trembled against my hips, in the way his breath turned heavy. But just then, a memory hit me so fast; that white dress digging into my thighs, my pack laughing and Damian's hand on Sienna. Not again. I wasn't going to ever submit to a bond I didn't choose. So, I kissed him back violently, sinking my teeth deep into his bottom lip so hard I tasted copper. He hissed, then finally pulled back just enough to stare at me. His blood was dripping down his chin, but he kicked it off slowly, his grey eyes now dark and hungry. “f**k” the word rolled off his tongue smoothly, causing my heart to do this annoying flip. “...you're a menace” “I told you.” I was panting, my eyes flashing gold. “Now get off me before I ruin your face.” His grip tightened, and for a second I thought he was going to force me back into the kiss. But then someone started pounding on the metal door right behind my head. “Kai! Open the damn door, bro” Kai didn't move. His eyes stayed locked on mine, his body still pressed against me. “ax,” he said, his voice flat. “Not now.” “Prez, I'm serious. Dante Hawke and about fifty Hellhounds were spotted near the border.” Something flickered in Kai's expression. His jaw tightened, but he still didn't let me go. Jax's voice dropped, urgent. “And he's asking questions about a Nomad. A thick girl with dark hair and a Harley who broke one of his man's arms four years ago. He tracked her down to town” My blood ran cold. My wolf went dead still in my chest. My mind was spiraling. I knew exactly who that Nomad was. It was me, I was the one who broke that Hellhound's arm. I was the one Dante had been hunting across four states. I thought I had lost him back in Nevada. And now he was here, in Silver Hollow, with fifty bikers at his back. Kai must have felt the change in me because his grip loosened slightly. “What?” “Let me go,” I whispered. “What?” His eyes narrowed. “What did he just say? Who's asking about you?” “Let me go right now.” But he didn't. He grabbed my chin, forcing me to meet his gaze. “Who can't be here? Who the hell are you running from?” I looked at Kai…really looked at him. The oil under his fingernails, the massive patch on his cut that marked him as the Alpha President of the Ironwolf MC. The guy whose garage I had just broken into. The guy whose mouth was still stained with my blood. “I said let me go.” “Hey.” “Let me go!” Kai released me like I'd burned him, stepping back just as the garage door rattled upward. I didn't wait for it to open fully, I ducked under the metal, ignoring the heavy, throbbing ache between my thighs, and walked straight out into the dusty lot. A dozen heavily inked bikers were drinking cheap beers around a rusted truck. They all froze. Their eyes zeroed in on my swollen lips, my bruised neck, and the overpowering scent of the mechanic practically dripping off me. I shoved past a guy with a neck tattoo. I didn't care who they were or what their club was. I was going to walk to the highway and disappear before Dante could catch up with me. “You won't make it three miles.” Kai's voice was low, vibrating with a dark, chest rattling Alpha aura, but I didn't stop walking. “You're f*****g shaking,” he called out, his heavy boots crunching on the gravel behind me. “Your pupils are blown. You're dripping slick and your temperature is spiking. It's the bond fever.” I froze in the dirt. My hands curled into tight fists because I knew he was right. My vision was already blurring at the edges, a violent, unbearable heat clawing up my spine. “You can't fight a dormant bond snapping this hard,” he said softly, stopping right behind me. He didn't touch me, but the heat radiating off his massive chest made my knees physically give out. “And you can't outrun a furious biker Alpha” I swayed, the fever hitting me hard this time, my knees completely buckling, but I didn't hit the ground. Just then, a massive, grease stained arm wrapped tightly around my waist, pulling my back flush against a rock hard chest. “Run if you want, baby,” he whispered against my ear, his thumb brushing my racing pulse as I gasped for air. “But I'll just follow the scent of you begging for me when you finally collapse.”
