Skye is a fighter; she is born from the best two fighters in her 500 strong pack.

Even at the young age of 21 she has already developed gifts that not many other wolves have. There are massive expectations for her to become one of the best warrior wolves any pack has ever seen, not that Skye truly wants that weight of responsibility.

One night she meets her true mate and she soon realises his Alpha status.

Will she sacrifice her destiny of becoming a great warrior?

Or will she go with her heart and try to deal with her inner battles between love and destiny?

CHAPTER ONE
“KEEP GOING SKYE, THREE MORE SETS AND YOU’RE FINISHED FOR THE DAY” yells our Beta. I was trying to push through the last 30 minutes of my strength training of the day and get out of here. I was looking forward to meeting up with my friends, Bella and Lily. They were the very few members of our pack that didn’t just see me as some ‘prized wolf’ who was ‘destined for greatness’. Don’t get me wrong, I love being a kickass she wolf with some rare abilities but there’s just so much pressure to be ‘great’ and I just don’t know if I can do it. My wolf, Aria however, seems to be looking forward to being hailed as ‘the greatest warrior the moon goddess herself ever did gift’. You should be looking forward to it. Our mother doesn’t just gift any wolf with our powers Aria reminds me for the hundredth time. I’m well aware of that fact Aria, I’ve been reminded every week since I gained you at 16. I get the message. I snubbed at her and pushed her to the back of my mind. Unlike packs in the States, in the UK we gain our wolves at 16. But we aren’t allowed to fight until we’re 21. Our Alpha is very strict about this and despite my parents being the top two fighters in his pack, he wouldn’t bend on it, even for me. So even though I’ve been training ever since I can remember, it’s only been in the last year I have been an official member of our packs fighters. Alpha Luke is a very fair leader however and is the main reason why we’re the largest pack in England. He has always been like a second father to me, even though my dad isn’t Beta, Alpha Luke has always treated him as such. “SKYE! FOCUS! YOUR FORM IS POOR BECAUSE YOU’RE NOT CONCENTRATING!” Beta Oliver shouts while walking over to me. I drop the barbel I was deadlifting and wait to be instructed. “If you keep on with that form you’ll really f**k up your back and then what good will you be?” He says. “Beta, I’m sorry but I’ve been training near enough solidly since 7 this morning. I just want to get done seeing as Saturday is my only full rest day and I made plans to go out with the girls tonight.” I say, trying to leave the gym before I get pulled back. “Skye, your mother and father are our best fighters, we are only trying to get you to your best, help you realise your full potential- ” he paused and then raised an eyebrow at me. Damn. “What do you mean you’re going out tonight? You’re on a strict training regime and diet. You shouldn’t be going out” He finished. I’ve always felt stopped from being able to do what other wolves my age could do, even when I was a pup. I might not have gained my wolf or abilities at that point but due to my bloodline, people knew I was going to be special and did everything to keep me safe. Smothered more like. “Beta! I’m 21 and want to go and do things other wolves get to do. Bella and Lily get to go out every weekend and I just want to be able to join in” I whinged. “Bella and Lily aren’t expected to be in the gym 5 days a week and be our best fighter” Oliver snidely comments. “Look, what I do on my rest days is my business, I’m not a pup anymore and will go out if I choose to” I say trying to be assertive without Oliver pulling his Beta rank. Before he does, I quickly add “You know the Alpha would allow me to, plus I wasn’t gonna be drinking,,,too much. I’ll still be on time for our 10 mile run on Sunday morning” Beta Oliver doesn’t say anything. He just looks at me, still one eyebrow raised. Eventually he says “Fine, but if you’re late on Sunday morning you’ll be doing more strength training after a 20 mile run” I just look at him “hey, it will give you an incentive to behave tonight” he adds while tidying up equipment, with a sarcastic grin on his face. “Thank you Beta, I understand.” I reply, before I get myself in trouble. I bow my head in respect and leave the gym to get showered up and ready to meet up with my friends.
