32 Threats and Backup

“Going so soon?” Felix menacing voice came from above them. They knew he could not see them because they were cloaked and he could not track them because they had lost their cards but he was still close enough to be able to get to them. Walt and Hogan were still not fully recovered and they were all running without a clear idea of what they were going to do next or if they were even going to survive the battle. Ailsa suddenly stopped and turned to face Felix. “What are you doing? Let’s go, don’t stop!” Walt yelled out to her. “Go, Run! I can hold him off, you need to heal!” she yelled back but Walt was not having any of that. So he tried to rush to grab her but was stopped by Jenny. “She’s right, you need to recover. I’ll stay and fight with her. Just try to get as far away as you can,” Jenny said to him. Walt grinded his teeth, feeling angry about the situation and the fact that he was helpless against it. There was no time to deliberate, so Michael tugged at his hand and they ran off, leaving Jenny and Ailsa. Jenny undid their cloaking and Ailsa used Eclipse to fire an arrow straight up in the air at Felix. He heard the arrow coming and managed to dodge it by an inch. He looked down, trying to pinpoint where the shot came from, then he saw another coming straight at him. He dodged it as well, then growled and located the culprit. With a slight chuckle, he dove straight to the ground and landed with a thud that blew wind towards the two women he was supposed to fight. “What’s this?” he asked with a laugh “Walter left his women to fight his battle? I would have ex-” he was cut short by another one of Ailsa’s arrows which almost went straight through his neck but he caught with his hand mid-air. “Stop talking,” Ailsa said in a low voice. She put Eclipse back around her neck and grabbed her daggers instead. Felix face etched into a scowl, in annoyance. He broke the arrow in half and threw it on the ground. “Fine,” he said then swept back his cloak and held out his scepter. Jenny also pulled out her huge longsword and activated one of her defense skills. Ailsa and Jenny rushed towards the alchemist at once, forcing him to fight physically, so he was unable to use his magic. Jenny swung down her sword on him and he blocked the attack with his scepter. The two metals clanged against each other loudly. At the same time, Ailsa used her dagger to s***h at him, cutting through his cloak and injuring him. Felix winced at the attack and used all his strength to push them back, slamming them against the ground. He flew up and held up his scepter, then began to fire overshoot ignition at them. Noticing what he was up to, Ailsa used her control of nature to manipulate the branches of the trees around them. The attack blew up the branches instead but threw them back. Jenny got off her feet and ran quickly, using a tree as a propeller, she launched herself in the air and swung her sword at him with all her might. Felix smirked and stopped the attack by swinging at her sword hand with his scepter, knocking her weapon to the ground. He grabbed her by the neck and held up his scepter. She gasped and held up both her hands to form a defense shield. Felix threw her towards the ground and at the same time, launched an overshoot ignition which blew her back and caused a powerful explosion. Her defenses were completely obliterated and she was knocked to the ground. The only reason why she was not dead was because of the shield she used in the last minute. “Jenny!” Ailsa screamed. She got off the ground and started to run towards her team mate, her eyes were teary as she ran, hoping she would be able to heal her. How did things get so bad? She wanted to stop the whole game and just go back home but she could not do that. Everyone needed her, she could not just abandon them. She was close to Jenny when she felt someone grab a fistful of her hair and pull her back. “Where do you think you’re going?” it was Felix. He pulled her back by her hair even as she screamed and kicked. “Leave me-” she started to say when her head snapped to the side. Her face registered a burning sensation as she realized he had hit her. She looked back up at him, into his eyes. They were icy and gray. He scowled at her, then kicked her in the stomach, making her keel over and sway unstably. He held her up, slapped her across the face again and punched her jaw. She fell to the ground, wounded. With a scoff, he grabbed her hair again and pulled her with it until she was on her knees. Jenny watched through hazy eyes as the madman hit Ailsa over and over again but she was unable to help or do anything because she had been severely wounded. “I’ve got your little elf, Walter!” Felix called out and let out a laugh. Ailsa was weak and could only squirm uncomfortably as he tugged at her hair. “Aren’t you going to come get her?” he said and let out another laugh, then he turned his attention to Jenny. She was trying to crawl towards her sword. He scoffed and kicked it out of the way then stepped on her hand, causing her to cry out. “And your paladin too! Are you going to leave them in my capable hands?” he called out. He was irked by the fact that a lot of Walt’s team mates had hidden professions. If they all faced him at once, he might not be able to beat them without getting seriously injured himself. Luckily, they had been foolish enough to break themselves up and he had to employ a weakling’s tactics – taking hostages. “Attack him Walt! Don’t listen to him!” Ailsa screamed out and was silenced by Felix who struck her again. “Listen to her Walter, attack me. I have two human shields. If you choose to listen to me, you’ll come out of wherever you’re hiding, drop your weapons and let me kill you. And I’ll let your little elf live. So, you have two options, attack me and she dies or surrender and she lives. Either way, I’m still going to kill you. The choice is yours Walter!”   Walt was being held back by Michael and Scott. They were hiding in a nearby cave and heard everything that Felix had said. He was ready to rush in and surrender but the rest of his team mates were telling him to think it through and not rush in. They believed that even if he surrendered, Felix would still kill Ailsa and it would have all been for nothing. “Let go of me! I have to surrender,” Walt protested. He was fully healed and so was Hogan who stood, brooding in a corner about how easily he had been brought down. He wanted badly to hurt Felix and supported the idea of attacking him instead of surrendering. “You need to think about this first,” argued Michael. “Think about what? He has her and he’s hurting her. He won’t let her go unless I come forward, so I’m going,” “I have to agree with Michael,” Scott said “you of all people know how Felix is. Even if you go there, he might not release her,” just about Walt was about to reply, a loud explosion went off in the direction where Felix was holing Ailsa and Jenny hostage. “No,” Walt whispered and they all ran out of the cave, towards the explosion.   Felix clenched his jaw in anger. He had been struck down and had lost his hostages, thanks to some newcomers who he assumed were the second team on the field. There were four of them and two were magicians, one of which had summoned the power of all the elements and blew him away. Another member of their team was an elf and she had gathered his captives and taken it upon herself to heal them. The one who seemed to be their leader was a mad warrior and stood protectively in front of the rest. “This is not your concern,” Felix spat as he stood “leave now and I might not kill you,” he said and wanted to laugh because he would have never believed that he would say that in a million years. “You’re a terror and a bully,” the mad warrior said and pointed one of his swords at him “we will destroy you,” Felix laughed out loud this time. “You? You don’t stand a chance,” he replied and in the same moment, Walt and the others arrived. Felix was now surrounded by Green Light team and Diamond team. He glanced around at them, feeling slightly apprehensive. Then he chuckled. “Okay,” he said “let’s dance.”
