“You’re holding back something,” I told Asher.
I had watched him from the moment he explained what he had found in the abandoned house until the moment we left for the throne room. I could tell something was on his mind.
Something he has chosen to keep out of all he had explained.
He looked shocked for a moment then relaxed. “It would have affected her,” he said with a sigh, taking a seat.
“That injection would not be her only dose. I can’t tell how much she had taken, but I believe so,” he added.
“So you’re only making up an excuse for her?” Ashton joined us.
“I am not,” his brother argued back. “Kaelen is one of the greatest generals we've had. She cannot possibly become weak.”
