Chapter 3

As midnight hit, I felt a sudden surge around me. Tala told me that I would be getting my powers when I turned 18 but I didn’t know it was going to be like this. My chest was getting tight and I felt something rising in my stomach. I felt like something was taking over me and the pressure in my head was starting to build higher and higher.

Tala was in my head. “we need to get to the clearing fast! Run Aurora and don’t stop until you hit the lake.”

I did as she said and I went running to the clearing as fast as my legs could carry me. I went to the clearing beyond the pack house that I and Jonas always practice at. I made it to the lake and all of a sudden, the feeling in my head got stronger and started to move through my entire body, I was starting to feel hot all over. I don’t know how much longer I can hold this pressure in it's just building and building Tala was talking to me and I couldn’t hear her.

All of a sudden, I heard her, “jump into the lake NOW!”

I jumped in and screamed as I screamed all the water seemed to rise from the lake and just float in the air 6 feet over my head. I was sitting in the lake bed just staring above my head, the fish were still swimming in the water like it was normal to be in the air, it was just not in the river any longer just floating in suspension, I didn’t understand what was going on. Then the water came crashing down on top of me.

I swam to the edge and crawled up onto the grass and lay flat on my back. “Tala, what was that what just happened?”

“That was one of our powers Aurora they have awakened. We are an elemental wolf and a direct descendant of the moon goddess, we are special.” I couldn’t believe it, as I looked into the water, I saw that my eyes were not silver anymore. Now they looked more of a metallic silver with flecks of hazel and what looked to be small dots of deep blood red swirling around in them. I asked Tala about it.

“This is because we are an elemental wolf now, we are bonded more than before, and your eyes show how special we are, in wolf form we will also have silver eyes instead of the hazel we had before.” I was in shock.

“Tala what does this all mean?”

“This means that we have to be careful people will be out to get us and we need time to learn our new abilities. As an elemental, we will be able to control all the elements, including changing the weather. We do have one element that we will relate to the most. We will be able to control Fire better than the rest of the elements. That is why you see the flecks of red in your eyes. It's the element we most identify with. We will need to learn as something is coming and it’s something big.”

“Tala, does this have anything to do with the attack 3 years ago? Why they hid their scent?”

“Yes.” was all Tala said. I have this feeling that whatever is coming will be here soon and I just hope I am ready for it.

The next thing I know I am feeling a pressure build up in my head, no one ever mind links me other than Jonas, so I let down my wall.

“Happy birthday, princess!! How are you?”

“Jonas, thank you! I am great, I DID HOWEVER FIND OUT IM AN ELEMENTAL WOLF AND I CAN CONTROL MY POWERS IN BOTH WOLF AND HUMAN FORM HOWEVER I HAVE A BAD FEELING.” I can hear silence and then Jonas sighs through the mind link.

“I have been feeling like that too I don’t know what it means but I have been training you and I know you and Tala are strong, keep your eyes open and be safe, link me if you see anything or feel anything and I will be there no matter what.”

I knew what Jonas was saying was true, he was the only one who ever stood up for me. He couldn’t always be there but when he was, he would ensure I had food to eat and if he could stop the abuse he would. He is the top warrior from the emerald lake pack, he left after his mate was killed and found a home here they are known for being some of the best warriors in the entire Alpha Kings realm, and has even put our alpha on his a** a couple of times no one would want to go head-to-head with him in a fight, inhuman or wolf form.

I walked back to the omega house slowly. As I was walking through the forest, I caught the most amazing smell of pine and cinnamon.

I followed the smell and I was in the backyard of the pack house and I could see Elias and Charlotte up against a tree. His hands were under her dress and her legs were wrapped around his waist. He was kissing her down her chin and to her neck almost like he was about to mark her, why would he be trying to mark her the day before the Alpha ceremony? Unless...is he taking a chosen mate? Then I see Elias pick up his head and start smelling.

Oh god, the smell was coming from me and I can smell him.

“Mate!” said Tala in my head and it slipped out my mouth.

Elias walked over to me furious. “How can my mate be the person who murdered my mother you have got to be f*****g kidding me! This is some sick joke the mood goddess is playing, isn’t it? How could I ever be mated to the likes of you!!!” I just looked at him confused. Was he feeling the pull like I was? How can he be saying all this?

Charlotte is still leaning up against the trunk of the tree snickering like she knows what is about to happen before it does.

Just then I realized exactly what was about to happen...
