SHE RAN AWAY
The morning was cold and gentle, Amelia could hear the chirping of the birds and see through her windows the beautiful butterflies perching on every colorful flower they found.
She's been up since midnight preparing for her daughter's wedding.
"Ma'am the dress has been delivered" A feminine voice shouted from the sitting room.
Amelia could hear the voice from her room, It was her daughter's wedding gown and accessories that were being delivered
She sat still on her bed, her heart pondering on the event that was going to happen today.
She knew with no sense of doubt that Williams was not a man with a good reputation.
"But he got what we need" a voice retorted
"Not at the expense of your daughter's happiness". another voice interjected in her head.
"Stop stop stop" she screamed rubbing her palm on her forehead.
Without budging, she looked up to the wall clock in her room, it was twenty minutes past seven.
She managed to drag herself to the bathroom, seeing her reflection on the mirror she realized how much she had emaciated.
Tears rolled down her cheek, since the death of her husband she has not been herself.
"Amelia"
"Amelia" she had a very familiar feminine voice call out her name loudly
Only her sister-in-law dared address her by her name
"Who the hell is that" she muttered, towelling her body and wrapping it with a robe.
She got out of the bathroom and opened her room door only to find her sister-in-law staring straight like a lost sheep.
"Anna is nowhere to be found" Anuty Emily said immediately Amelia opened the door.
Amelia paused and stared at her sister-in-law in a manner that stated "Repeat what you just said"
"I said your daughter is missing, she is not in her room" she said again in a rather aggressive tone.
Tightening her robe, Amelia hurried upstairs to confirm what her sister-in-law just told her.
The only domestic staff they had left, and Anuty Emily followed right behind her.
"Anna" she called out loudly, as she approached her daughter's door, she swung it open and the only thing she saw was Anna's scattered clothes, and Bree, her big fat teddy bear.
She stared in amazement, her eyes hovering around the room as her whole body frozen
"Do something Amelia, don't stand there looking confused?" Aunty Emily said slowly.
Without giving her sister-in-law a response, she began searching her daughter's room for clues about her whereabouts
Aunty Emily kept calling Anna on the phone, it was ringing, but she wasn't picking up
Amelia could no longer control her tears, she wiped like a mother who just lost her only child to death.
Aunty Emily stood still on the spot confused and bothered about her nieces.
__
"Hello, young lady," a masculine voice said alighting from a 2022 model black Benz.
"Hello young lady" he said again this time louder, trying to get her attention as he drew closer to her.
Seeing him approaching her, she moved backwards slowly, giving him a stern look.
"Don't be scared, I mean no harm believe me" he said loud enough to be heard as he stretched his palm towards her.
On hearing that she paused, making him increase his pace.
"Who are you and what are you doing here alone?" he asked, with his gaze fixed on her.
Before approaching her, he had driven past a few minutes ago to go pick up his boss's wedding suit when he saw her by the roadside alone looking homeless with her bag tightly held in her gasp.
What caught his attention was her messy long hair and her glowing skin, one could see from far off that she was stunning. She wore a plain pink mini gown with black slippers and no make-up on, she looked like an innocent eighteen-year-old who had been thrown out of the house by her stepmother.
"Who are you" he asked again, his voice tinged with sympathy.
" That doesn't matter right now, I need to run away," she said, her voice and body trembling
As she spoke he stared at her piercing blue eyes and her dainty nose.
"From who?"
"To where?" he asked trying to get a reasonable piece of information from her.
"Too many questions, will you help me or not" she replied angrily.
"of course, I want to help you if you would let me in on some information" he answered gently, trying so hard to not piss her off.
" I am being forced by my mom and aunt to marry a man I don't love," she said slowly, her eyes gleaming with distress.
"Okay, how about you marry him? get whatever you need from the marriage and divorce him after one year" he replied staring straight into her teary eyes.
She looked up at him and then down to his shoes. She paused to process what he just said. Realizing she needs resources to avenge her father's death and put her rapist behind bars and her father's dying company would not help in any way.
She immediately stood up straight " I think I will take your advice man'' she said smiling
"Once I accomplish my goals I will divorce that bastard"
"Smart girl!" he exclaimed smiling at her sheenly
"Can I drop you off at home?" he asked almost immediately.
''Yes please" she replied, swinging her bag excitedly.
He held her hand gently as they walked towards the car, he opened the door for her, she got in quickly and he made his way to the steering and drove off immediately.
In the car she kept thinking about what he said, she knew that she had to act fast, within a year she should be done, divorce him, and get a new life.
"Turn to the left", she said directing him to her father's villa
He was shocked to see the house he just drove into. His heartbeat increased as fear gripped him, sending shivers down his spine.
Anna was too excited to notice his sudden change of countenance. She alighted from the car immediately she was sure he had parked properly.
"Mom, I'm home, let's go get married!" she screamed excitedly.
