I spent the weekend polishing my already perfect resume to highlight all the management tasks I’d been taking on over the last few years. Mike and I traded resumes when the plant manager position was open, but I was determined to improve my resume so when he saw it again it looked even better. I knew the skills for a department manager job were different than a plant manager. I wanted to make sure he knew I was up to the challenge.
On Monday I trudged into work, exhausted and anxious. All the time I’d spent working on my resume was simply a distraction, and I knew it. I was worried Luke was going to start rumors about my relationship with Mike. And I was wishing I could call Mike and talk to him about it, and then work out my anxiety.
