Kiran looked over at the site of the disturbance, he saw the trees breaking, and swaying to the side, he could not fully see the evolved monster but he could feel its angry gaze on him, he quickly ran trying to get his sword from the impaled monkey on a tree some meters away from him,

He ran, and was halfway to where the 4th level evolution monkey was impaled when a large tree came hauling towards his direction, he could not move forward towards the monkey, or he would be hit by the falling tree, the tree was big and wide, even though he was a body evolutionist, and his body was strong, he would be seriously injured if he got hit by the tree, he quickly moved back evading it.

Finally, the large monster which had destroyed a lot of trees on its way to Kiran finally showed up, this creature was a large tall, monkey with menacing eyes, and blood dripping from the mouth, showing it had recently killed and devoured another monster on its way.

Kiran saw the tall monster, if he did not know better he would have called it a gorilla, but this was an overgrown monkey with brown golden hair all over its standing straight like needles.

Kiran examined the large monkey and found out it was the 5th level basic evolution monster, just like Kiran himself, who was also in the 5th level basic evolution realm, Kiran was not afraid of the monster, their strengths were similar,

He looked over to the tree where his sword was impaling the monkey at the 4th level evolution realm, the huge monkey at the 5ft level was standing in between Kiran and where his sword was,

"This is not going to be an easy fight," Kiran thought, he could not fight the monster with his sword, as it would not allow him to get it, the monster was starring at Kiran waiting to attack immediately if Kiran made a move.

He had to fight the monster with his bare hands, which would make it more difficult to kill the monster, evolved monsters had stronger bodies than all evolutionists in general.

Kiran quickly moved his hands up, making a pose for the basic boxing technique, he had mastered this technique for two months of training.

Immediately Kiran moved his legs, the huge monster attacked, it held one of the large branches of a tree it had broken on its way, like a club, smashing it towards Kiran, he quickly dodged,

he could not afford to be hit by its weapon, as the club hit the ground it broke, and split into two, jolting the monkey, Kiran quickly carried one of the broken branches the monkey used as a weapon.

With this branch, he was sure he could fight the monkey equally. He moved quickly hitting the monkey on its right leg, the monkey's right knee hit the ground, and Kiran struck the monkey on its head with the broken branch,

a large wound appeared across the monkey eyes, he did not give it time to rest, as he raised the broken branch and hit the monkey with all his strength on its other eye breaking the branch into several pieces, the monkey growled in pain, it raised its hands and scratched Kiran on the chest.

He had blinded the monkey with his two attacks, the monkey growled in madness as it tried to locate Kiran, Kiran retreated toward the direction of his sword and ran towards it, as the monkey heard Kiran steps, it also ran in his direction, it moved consumed by madness towards Kiran, almost catching up with him. After a few seconds, Kiran was already near his sword, he removed his sword from the 4th level impaled monsters head,

the huge monkey was already in his front, he activated fast sword and dragon strike, with all the strength and energy he could muster, plunging the sword into the monkey's chest and then into its heart, monkey sizzled, and then went falling with it's back touching the ground.

"No wonder captain Ming had advised me not to fight evolved monsters without a weapon, " Moran exclaimed.

This battle had opened his eyes to how strong the evolved monster was, and also why weapons were one of the greatest tools for fighting evolved monsters, without his sword he was not sure he would have killed the monkey.

He made a command and the leadership board appeared, Jiang Zhi was still first with a whopping score of 1000, Airra still second with 800 points, she was catching up to Jiang Zhi, after killing all these monkeys together with this huge monkey his rank had increased to 5th on the leader board with 521 points,

He had quickly caught up to the top five in the exams, he rested a bit, and then started walking towards the direction where the two students from before had run, they had told him, that other candidates were gathering in the east, toward a canyon,

they were planning to draw the evolved beast into the canyon and then easily kill them in the tight space.

Some minutes later, he was near the location of the canyon, he heard the growls of monsters, and then quickly stopped, he tiptoed through the bushes following the growls, as he followed, he then saw a canyon located in the front,

the canyon was tall, it almost looked as if it was a channel for caves, it looked like something that was not proposed to exist in the forest but there it was,

He did not know how the students achieved it, but a lot of evolved monsters kept coming out from the forest entering into the canyon, he had to lie down and hide, in other to avoid the monsters, it would be suicide to let himself ae seen by this horde of monsters,

As he lay on the ground, he counted more than 500 monsters coming out of the forest and then entering the canyon, and there were still more coming through,

most of them were in the 1st and 2nd basic evolution realm, he wasn't sure whether the students had underestimated the number of monsters or if this was all part of their plan,

On top of the canyon, the exam takers could be seen looking at the horde of more than 1000 monsters in fright, they had lured the monsters into the canyon using a 6th level basic evolution monster eggs, eggs were something all evolved monsters like eating especially if it was the egg of a higher evolution monster than themselves, they could use it to easily evolve,

But the students had not expected there were this many monsters in the forest.

The total number of the student taking the exams was 300, there was no way they could survive if they entered the canyon to kill evolved monsters.

"I think we should run before the monsters find a way of getting up here," one of the students said frightened,

"Coward, run away if you want to, not everyone here is a coward like you" a serious-looking boy, said frowning,

"They most have already gotten agitated, and have started killing themselves, with some more time, they would become tired and weaker, we then easily them the remaining beast" the serious-looking boy continued,

He was Jiang Zhi, the person with the highest mark on this exam.

"I agree with him, it's better we stay up here, the monsters would soon get tired, and that be our turn to do the killing," a beautiful, girl said by the side, that was Airra, she was not going to back away from all these points allowing, Jiang Zhi to take them, she had tried hard in this exams just to catch up to Jiang Zhi,

The Jiang and the Star family were the two strongest families in green City, and they had always competed in everything, Airra parents had warned her, she had to get a higher point than Jiang Zhi. In the exams

Jiang Zhi looked at her smiling "miss Airra you should give up, it is already set in stone that I would be first in this exam"

"We shall see about that," Airra started,

The both of them had managed to convince the other students to stay, only the top 50 would get into the Academy, and they were more than 300 students here, no one wanted to leave the points here, with the number of monsters, there were already enough to decide the winners. They all sat on the canyon resting and preparing for the s*******r that would happen later.

Kiran who was laying on the ground near the canyon hiding from the monster sighted human presence onto the canyons.

"No wonder I could not find any students, so they were all on top of the canyon," Kiran said in a hushed voice, trying not to attract any monster.

"If I keep staying here, sooner or later I won't be found out by the beast"

Kiran made up his mind to leave the bushes and climb unto the canyon, he looked over, until he found a side of the canyon that was not occupied by the monsters, tiptoed and quickly moved silently until he was, in front of the deserted side of the canyon and then quickly started climbing.

Some of the students saw him as he climbed

"Who is this asshole, he is going to draw the beast attention to us,"

"Drive him down" the students protested

"Hush, if you guys keep making noise, you would be the one to draw the monsters here," Airra said, shouting at the students in a low voice,

She had recognized the person climbing was Kiran, she had been looking all over the forest, trying to find Kiran but she had not caught sight of him.

Kiran climbed on top of the canyon and more than 200 students, who were all hiding near the naturally made medium-sized boulders on top of the canyon,

"Kiran, Quick come over here" Airra quickly said, Kiran heard her voice and was overjoyed, he had been searching for her since he entered the forest but had not seen her.

"This weird eyed guy would make all these monsters notice us," one of the students said angrily,

Kiran didn't mind all gazes and frowns made by the student and silently moved to the boulder Airra hid.

"So you are Kiran, the 5th in the ranking," Jiang Zhi said looking up and down at Kiran, trying to gauge Kirans strength.

Kiran looked at the serious-looking Jiang Zhi, and then found out he was in the 4th level of the basic evolution realm.

"I think it's time," one of the students near the edge of the canyon said, all the students looked down, blood was all over the place, more than 30% of the evolved monster were dead, and most of the ones alive were mostly injured and tired, this was their best time to attack, they all started descending into the canyon including Kiran.
