Chapter Three: New Living Arrangements.

The dinner was pretty quiet as everyone had small talk with one another and my father spoke to some of his guards about my safety. Marcus though, was staring at me and his eyes didn’t leave me. Shyly I didn’t even look at him, as it was making me nervous before I gave a little huff and looked towards him as he gave a smile, looking away to drink his wine. "Mirabela, would you accompany me into the garden?" He asked me, standing up as the dining room fell silent, how embarrassing I thought to myself as I nodded and stood up. "Of course. I'd love to." I replied, pushing my chair and following him out the dining room and into the kitchen where there were people working, but, didn't mind us walking through to get to the back door. He opened the door for me and allowed me out first. We walked around some before moving to the garden of Roses spread around a perfect sculpture of a woman holding her stomach. "This is where I laid my mother to rest. I do not talk much about her and I don't bring anyone out here as it's sacred, but, since you will be my bride or well, I hope so. I wanted you to see this." He said, moving over to the statue as he placed a hand on it and closing his eyes and praying. "May I ask, How did she pass?" I asked curiously. “She was killed by a Vampire..I was young and watched the whole thing. She risked her life to save me so that one day I’d conquer and kill all of those damn blood suckers.” he said with a hint of darkness in his voice before he blinked and looked at me with a gentle smile. “Forgive me, I shouldn’t say such scary things around you.” He rubbed the back of his neck embarrassed. “No need to apologize.. it’s a touchy subject an anyone would get upset losing a parent so I cannot imagine your feelings.” I said softly staring at him before walking over and paying my respects as I bowed my head an gave a little prayer before turning to see him look stunned as he smiled. “My mother always wanted me to marry a good gentle girl, sadly no Lycans are gentle more on the heated side..” I gave a small chuckle at him explaining the females in his clan. “But than I got a letter one day stating of a Fae going to be wed and I had to see for myself but also my people.. of course I want my family’s name to live on. So I accepted and wanted to meet you..and now that your here and I’ve only spent a couple hours seeing your gentle face. It seems like fate meeting you.” He said taking my hands in his large ones. My cheeks heated up as I was staring back into those dark eyes of his. I gave a shy smile looking away. “I’ll live with you as we spoke.. and give you my answer on what I decide..” I spoke honestly to him as he nodded kissing my hands. “Of course, I want you to know more of my kind ..more of my family as well. My father is still alive and would love to meet you. My grandmother as well she always wanted to meet a Fae.” He smiled when he talked about his grandmother as she seemed dear to him. “Rules. I’ll share a room with you but no funny business.” I warned pointing a finger at him as he laughed. “I will not do anything unless you ask me to..than I would blow your mind.” He smirked at me as he crossed his arms over his chest. The tattoos along his arms were beautifully done and it looked as if some had meaning to them which she would ask later on. “I’m only saying sleeping in the same room because well I’ll feel more comfortable than being in a room by myself.. I don’t know anyone here so I hope that doesn’t bother you.” I whispered gently an nervously. He shook his head. “No one here in my clan is allowed to harm or touch you.. if so they will die under my hands.. but yes if your more comfortable than you may sleep in my room and I can take the couch in the room. I don’t mind.” “What no I couldn’t take the whole bed, I’m tiny and your.. we’ll large so you need the bed as well. Just no ..touchy touchy.” He laughed, nodding his head. “Cross my heart, no touching.” He smirked, saluting me like I was the boss. It made me giggle as I shook my head. “Rule two.. I hate bugs! But that doesn’t seem an issue seeing the house so clean.. so scratch that off..” I mumbled tapping my chin, thinking before I looked at him as he was watching me. “Bugs.. you do realize I have shifted into a scary Lycan that walks on two legs and I have hair all over my body..” he teased me smiling. “Oh so like a dog?” I shot back with a smirk on my lips as I turned, walking further into the garden with him hot on my trail. “Not dog, nor wolf..don’t mistake us for those annoying four-legged dogs.” He huffed from behind me. “So there’s a difference.. Lycan and A wolf. Interesting.” I teased him with a smile on my lips as he grabbed my wrist and spun me around. My hands rested on his chest as I looked up at him. "There is a big difference. But enough about them. Mirabela, you are beautiful and I hope and pray one day you will agree to marry me and make me the happiest man alive." He said, looking down at my eyes. I could feel my cheeks heat up from such compliments. He also made me nervous, but in a good way that I had butterflies in my tummy. I could feel his body heat against me as my heart pounded in my chest. We were so close yet he didn't dare move without asking me. He was gentle and sweet. Why did people think of him as a monster? The monster in front of me was generous and just wanted to feel loved like everyone else. My hand slowly moved from his chest to his cheek as I smiled. "I pray to the gods I will give you what you wish, for right now I want to learn as much as I can about you and your people. It's not every day a Fae marries a Lycan." I smiled at him as he leaned into my touch, relaxing gently in my hand. "I agree. Now shall we wish your parents farewell and make you comfortable in the room. Then tomorrow, I'll let you meet important people in my life that will help you and show you the ropes while I work." He responded by taking my hand in his and guiding us back to the door as my parents stood waiting for me. "Mirabela, we are just a call away if you ever want to contact us. Your brother will bring your important things for you by tomorrow.. God, I'm going to miss you.." She frowned, moving to me as she hugged me tightly. "Mother, I'm not going anywhere.. It's a drive to get here, yes. But I'm not moving states. You can call me when you wanna hear my voice if that makes you feel better." I assured her with a gentle kiss on her cheek. She nodded, sighing as she wiped her cheeks before moving back to the steps. My eyes went to my father, who held on to his emotions. He moved over to me and kissed my forehead before looking at Marcus. "Protect my babygirl with your life and don't dare think of hurting her as I will find you and make your life hell." He warned the Lycan, who nodded his head with a gentle smile, not taking his threat to heart. He took my mother's hand and they walked away and to the gate to the backyard, heading back to their car. My eyes went to my big brother as he had a frown on his face before taking me in his arms. "Call me if anyone hurts you or you just want me to come by.. I'm here." He whispered to me before kissing my head and giving Marcus a look before nodding and walking off. I stood there watching them leave before I heard the car engine come alive and soon they were gone and left me surrounded by Lycan. I snapped out my worried state and turned to look at Marcus, who smiled at me. "Your new life awaits." He says, holding out his hand for me to take. Here it is, A big change in my life. I was going to live with a man I just met and maybe marry him down the road. My head didn't have time to tell me to panic as my heart spoke and grabbed his hand instead as walked back inside the house.
