"What!" I exclaimed as soon as my Beta informed me about the absence of Adele at the studio. It was the second day and fourth time that I have sent them over there which they always report that Adele was absent.

"What do you mean she isn't there? Where is she?" I questioned angrily.

"We don't know, Alpha. I've sent some of the men to check on her apartment and I'm yet to get reports" Beta Felix said.

"That isn't enough. You should do that job yourself. You know how important this is for me. Go out and find them!" I ordered.

Just as Beta Felix left my office, he returned quickly, panting heavily.

"Alpha, I received a news from my men. Adele Reyes has returned back to New York City" Felix announced to me and I found myself jerking up from my sit.

"What the heck? Since when?" I asked, heading out of the hotel suite.

"Since yesterday." He replied.

"Why did she go back there? Is she still seeing Alpha Bruce?"

"No, we don't have that information yet. I've asked my men to make more investigations"

"No need for that. Book me the earliest flight to New York now!"

"But.. Alpha. The weather isn't appropriate for a travel" "it's risky"

"Right! I needed you to remind me. Get going Beta Felix! Do something! We must be in New York by nightfall" I instructed.

I still couldn't believe that Adele would go back to New York City knowing fully well that Alpha Bruce and her family were there. Why would she go there? What was her motive?" I asked myself rhetorically as soon as we entered my car and drove off the hotel's premises. I tried to put on a phone call while Beta Felix also made a call to get a jet prepared for me to fly over to New York. "Adele…" I grinned as soon as I finished calling.

"Don't make this hard for me" I said under heavy breath.

"My lord, they will be ready in thirty minutes" Felix informed me.

"What are you waiting for? Take me to the airport!" I demanded.

ADELE

It was finally the day of the auction, Muna helped with my make-up. She was experienced in cosmetology and she did a beautiful job with my hair and make-up.

I put on the dress which I had shopped on the previous day.

"You look beautiful ma'am" Muna complimented me.

"Thank you Muna." I said briefly.

"Where's Asher?" I asked her.

"He's busy playing videogames. I don't think he'll realize when you leave. He's some focused in his game" She explained and I giggled.

"I won't stay long, Muna. I'll just get my painting and come back"

I stood up to grab my purse and then I left. The door near mine was the room where Muna and Asher stayed, I opened the door slowly and peaked on Asher. As Muna said earlier, he was focused in his game and he didn't realize me watch him.

"I love you, Asher." I said and left.

My cab arrived and I left for the Villa. I was still very familiar with Bruce's villa, the place that used to be my home.

The ride from the hotel to the villa was less than an hour and soon we arrived. I alighted the cab and went it. I was allowed to enter when I presented my auction card to the security guard. I had purchased one from Bruce's page online.

I entered into the exquisitely designed hall where everyone was already seated and the auction had began. I arrived a little late to the event and they had already started to sell the items. Only two rounds have been done and they were yet to start the third round of auction. I realized that the painting was yet to be sold.

"We shall resume the auction and it's the third round. For those who missed the first and second, this is your chance to get a good catch" The host said. From a distance, I notice Bruce, alongside Ariel and his Beta enter the stage and took their seats. My parents weren't left out as they were also seated near them. I could see the excitement in my foster father's eyes as he was treated specially by Alpha Bruce. This was all he wanted, to get recognition.

The event was huge, different werewolves from several packs were present, including some powerful Alphas and their various Luna's. Some, who I was familiar with because Bruce and I went to their auctions and parties regularly.

First item is this gorgeous pearl bead, first won by an ancient Luna who was very powerful. It is said that this bead contains Power for whoever possess it. The host explained. I could already see everyone anticipating buying the bead.

Who'll start the bidding? Original price is…

$1 million!" Someone from the crowd spoke.

"$3 million" another said.

$3.5 million someone else added.

$3.5 million going? Anyone want to bid higher?" The host asked and no one responded.

"$3.5 million! Then it's a wrap."

"Let's move onto the next item." He said.

"This beautiful painting…" he pointed.

I stared at my Mum's painting.

It was her gift to me on my first shift. It was a painting of me in my wolf form.

A white wolf laying on green grass at a waterfall at night. I stared at the painting, tears almost falling off my eyes. Bruce knew how important the painting was to me yet he decided to auction it off like a piece of trash.

"Wow!" Someone exclaimed as the picture was revealed.

"Beautiful" Another exclaimed.

"This is a golden painting everyone. The bidding will start from a high price." The host said.

"$3 million" someone yelled out.

"$4 million" another cried out.

$10 million" I yelled quickly.

"What! A Whopping sum of 10 million dollars?Can we know who the bidder is?" The host asked and I stood up, bracing myself.

"It's the former Luna of Bluemoon pack, Adele Reyes" A reporter said and rushed towards me. Some others followed instantly, flashing their cameras on me.

"Luna, why did you come back?"

"Is it because you haven't gotten over Alpha Bruce?"

Several questions came from the reporters but I remained silent and only stared at Ariel who was probably aggravated by my presence. Ariel suddenly turned pale when she saw me. Knowing fully well what she did to me, Ariel never thought that I would come back. She was scared of getting exposed publicly. Especially now that she's Luna of the pack.
