My hold on Dale’s had unconsciously tightened as I held the woman’s gaze. She arched an inquisitive brow at me, tilting her head the slightest bit as she beheld me.
“He won’t?” The mockery in her tone had my temper flaring so hot that I was sure my blood boiled. What did I say that was so funny? “You have other plans to stop Katherine? Do tell.”
“I- we- not yet. We don’t have any plans to stop her yet but we’ll find a way.” My poor attempt at trying to sound confident was shattered when a wide smile spread across her blushed lips.
