His Secret Luna (Book 2 in the White Wolf Series)

Chapter 2

Lily woke up to the smell of her Mom making bacon and eggs, and the noise of her Dad singing in the shower. Her Dad seemed to think he was Dean Martin in the morning and almost always sang That’s Amore’ at the top of his lungs. She could hear the chorus was coming up and cringed..

‘’Wheeeeen Theeeeee .. moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that’s amore’’ her dad bellowed making her laugh.

Lily got out of bed and rubbed her face, walking to the bathroom door.

‘’Hurry up Dad I need to pee’’ she shouted. His singing paused, and he shouted back

‘’Just stepping out now flower’’ the shower stopped and after some light bangs her Dad opened the door and a cloud of steam poured from behind him.

‘’Enjoy the concert?’’ he said to her as he rubbed his hair with a towel, with a larger towel around his waist.

‘’ Move Dad or ill pee on you!’’

He laughed as he stepped out the small bathroom and she slammed the door pushing him out the way first, he headed to his and Helens bedroom.

After finishing her business, Lily headed to the kitchen for breakfast to see her Mom sat with toast and coffee. She only ever had a small breakfast stating she couldn’t stomach to cook all day filled with a cooked breakfast. However, she always made scrambled eggs and bacon for Lily and Oscar.

‘’Morning Lily, sleep well?’’ she asked as lily sat at the already set table.

‘’Yeah, but why does Dad always sing that stupid song about pizza eyes’’ she laughed cutting into a piece of crispy bacon.

‘’it’s a bloody classic from my youth little lady, sets you up in a good mood for the day. You should try it grumpy guts’’ her dad joked as he sat down next to her, his hair sticking up slightly where he rubbed it with the towel and hadn’t yet combed it.

‘’Wet ole day today, might mend the fences around the pack houses today. No point digging up at the main house’’ he said more to himself with a mouthful of bread and bacon which he had folded into a sandwich, as he looked out the window before turning to Lily and swallowing his mouthful of food to say ‘’You should just help Mom out today in the kitchen flower or around here if you want. No point getting soaked with me’’

‘’Yeah, I will go with Mom. I will get ready now as its almost 7 and I’m sure the lords and ladies will want feeding’’ she replied with a trace of sarcasm.

‘’LILY!’’ Helen said shaking her head ‘’They are nice people, I’ve no idea why you think they are stuck up. You don’t make any efforts to talk to people when they smile or say hello. They leave you alone to save you blushing. Maybe you should try and be more social. They could just think your rude as you think they are stuck up in fairness.. just saying’’

‘’Fair point, well made my love. Lily, be more respectful now go get ready before your mother scolds you to an inch of your life’’  Oscar winked knowingly and planted a kiss on lilys cheek.

Lily smiled, she was closest to her Dad who had a wonderful way of standing by his mate, her Mom but still being on her side.

‘’You my love, are an absolute softie and putty in your Daughters hands’’ Helen smirked with a raised eyebrow.

Lily laughed as her wonderful dad held his hands up and said ‘’You got me, I adore my girls’’

Lily left the table and walked to her bedroom to get dressed. She took off her nightwear and slipped on her clean underwear, she hated she now had to wear a bra as she was ‘becoming a woman’ as her mother had put it. Her body was changing as she was almost 13. Lily chose a pair of dark blue trousers and a fitted pale blue cotton vest top, with a white cardigan. It gets hot in that kitchen so she could take the cardigan off while in there but have it if she felt chilly later. She brushed her long dark brown hair and applied some clear lip gloss, as she was planning on actually responding to smiles and hello’s today. Her stomach flipped at the thought of Nile giving her his usual morning smile as he took his breakfast items from the serving section of the breakfast buffet. She questioned why he filled her stomach with butterflies when she saw him or thought of him. No one else made her like that. She shook away the thought of him and slipped on a pair of white pumps, and headed out to her parents who were stuck to each others faces like sucker fish when she walked in.

‘’Ewwww, get a room people’’

They both laughed.

‘’Just you wait until you’re older and find your mate flower, you will be the same’’ her dad said and she rolled her eyes ‘’ I will most definitely not be that gross thank you very much ‘’ she said folding her arms.

‘hmmm we will see, come on then lets go and get the day started.’’ Helen said before planting a final long, soft peck on Oscars lips making him growl and Lily roll her eyes again.

Lily and Helen walked quickly to the main house in comfortable silence. They shared an umbrella as the rain was still falling quite heavily. Once inside Helen shook off the umbrella and rested it to dry in the large foyer. Lily knew the drill and headed to the dining room and started to set up the table cloths, mats and cutlery. When she had finished, she went to the kitchen to get the glasses and mugs on the trolley to put out. Her mom was cooking mounds of various breakfast items along with the other two cooks. They nodded and smiled at her as she entered.

‘’Good morning’’ she said in a quiet voice, and their heads shot up along with Helens and they both said in unison ‘’ Well good morning Lily’’ and smiled. Lily looked at her Mom who was smiling from ear to ear.  Lily gave a small smile and walked the trolley back to the dining room. She set out the glasses and mugs and as she placed the final glass one of the cooks came in with another trolley filled with various jugs of juice and milk. She smiled again at Lily, her eyes warm and friendly. Lily surprised herself by making a small joke ‘’Its like feeding an army setting all this up isn’t it’’ the woman laughed and agreed ‘’That it is Lily, but your help makes the difference. I will pop the warmer plates on so the food stays warm. Are you ok to start bringing it through sweetheart?’’ Lily nodded, then reminded herself to speak. ‘’Oh of course. I will do that now’’ she said before darting off.

Lily walked into the kitchen and started to fill the trolley with the prepared food. Helen walked to her and ran her hand softly over Lily’s back. She didn’t speak but Lily knew she wanted to say well done, Her Mom knew Lily was often crippled with shyness. Lily smiled at her Mom and said ‘’best feed this army then, they’ll be down in a minute’’ and carried on with her task. Once she had all she could on the trolley she pushed it through and set up the food on the buffet table and warmers. She noticed the woman had set up the coffee machines and the smell of fresh coffee was starting to mix with the smells of the food.  Pack members were starting to drift in, all pretty much ignored her as usual. Then she saw the Alpha Aiden the Luna Angela and their two sons Randall and Nile. The boys headed straight towards the food, right where she was stood as the Alpha and Luna headed towards the coffee machine. Randall walked past her knocking her with his shoulder as if she were nothing which made her knock her hip against the trolley. Nile put out a hand and said ‘’Are you ok? he has no manners.’’ He gave a warm smile. She looked at his face, taking in his features. He had the brightest blue eyes she thought she had ever seen, and his smile.. wow! It belonged in a toothpaste advert! She felt those butterflies and her stomach flipped. Her wolf was shouting ‘Just speak Lily!!!’ in her head.

‘’I am OK thank you, just a small knock that’s all.’’

Niles eyes grew large. ‘’Oh um.. I err.. I am glad you’re not hurt Lily’’ he said.

He know my name! she squealed in her head. Oh goddess am I crushing on an alphas son?!

‘’Who’s this’’ a voice came from behind her.. it was Randall.

‘’This is Lily, and who you almost knocked flying you i***t. I think an apology would is due Randall’’ Nile said in an strangely annoyed tone.

Why is he annoyed, im no one? She thought.

‘’Yes Brother I think you are right… She does owe me an apology for being in my way’’ Randall looked between Lily and Nile as a wicked smile crossed his lips and his eyes squinted.

Lily opened her mouth, nd as she was about to apologise Nile beat her to it.

‘’ You are an absolute prick Randall, Go F**k yourself.’’ And he took Lily’s elbow leading her away to the side of the room.

‘’Ignore him Lily, he really is an absolute i***t, im hoping he will grow out of it before he comes of age.. Alpha Arsehole as I call him’’ he gave an apologetic smile making her heart rate pick up tenfold

Lily gave a little laugh putting her hand to her mouth, how had she not noticed how cute he was before now?

He took her hand from her mouth and whispered in an almost pleading voice ‘’Lily, don’t ever hide that smile. Its warmer than any sunshine I’ve ever felt.’’

Realising he was getting a little to familiar, and risking letting Lily see he had a crush on her and has for a long time he quickly let go of her hand and stated in a more formal voice ‘’ Right so, you are ok.. Randall is a prick and I’m hungry, so I best move myself. ‘’

‘’Oh yes, sorry I am holding you up. Thank you for making sure I was ok though.’’

He smiled as he stepped away then turned to walk off, why didn’t she want him to go away. Nile stopped after a few steps.

‘’Hey Lily.. we will be hanging out here in the games room in about an hour or so. If you fancy a game of cards or something, drop by.’’ He quickly turned away and walked to the food tables.

Did he just blush? She thought.
