ELSIE
I arrived at Ethan's mansion, my heart racing with anticipation. The sprawling estate loomed before me, its grandeur and beauty awe-inspiring. I had never been here before, but I had heard stories about the Denison family's wealth and power.
As I stepped out of the car, the front door swung open, and Ethan himself stood before me, looking dashing in a black suit.
"Welcome, Elsie," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I'm glad you could make it."
I nodded, feeling a little nervous. "Thanks for inviting me."
Ethan led me inside, where the opulent decor and lavish furnishings no doubt it was what I expected . We walked through the foyer, past a sweeping staircase, and into a cozy study.
"Please, sit down," Ethan said, gesturing to a plush armchair.
I sat, trying to relax, but my eyes kept darting around the room, taking in the shelves of leather-bound books, the fireplace, and the stunning view of the gardens outside.
Ethan sat behind his desk, steepling his fingers together. "I'm sure you're wondering why I brought you here."
I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest.
"I want to talk to you about your father's death," Ethan said, his eyes locked on mine.
My breath caught in my throat. What did he know?
"I know your father was a member of our organization," Ethan continued. "And I know he was murdered by a rival faction."
But you couldn’t protect him I said anger radiating from my body, his face was very cold looking out me with a hurt and angry expression.”
I felt a chill run down my spine. How much did Ethan know?
"We need to talk about your role in all this, Elsie," Ethan said, his voice firm but gentle. "You're in danger, and I want to help protect you."
I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say or do next.
