Dynasty "Karma" Jones.

"Yes, Rae?" I asked through the phone as I walked through the airport.
"I am about to miss my hair appointment because my dad won't take me," Desirae said.
"What do you mean he won't take you?" I asked. "I gave him $200 to pay for your hair," I added.
"He says he has to take Jasha somewhere," She said.
"Well, he can drop you off at the shop before he takes Jasha wherever," I said. "Excuse me," I said to a person I bumped into. "Pass the phone to Tyrone, Rae," I said.
"Okay, hold on," She said.
"Hello," I heard Tyrone's gritty voice say into the phone.
"Why aren't you taking Desirae to her hair appointment?" I asked. "You know I'm out of town, and I can't take her," I said.
"Look, Dynasty, I have to take Jasha to her nail appointment," He said.
"Okay, and?" I asked. "You can drop Rae off before you take Jasha to her nail appointment," I said. I heard him sigh.
"Okay, I got it, Dynasty," He said.
"You got it, my ass. You better take my sister to her appointment." I said.
I heard movement before Desirae came back on the phone.
"Bye, Dynasty, love you," Desirae said.
"Love you too. Call me tomorrow." I said.
"Okay," She said before hanging up the phone.
I walked through this big ass airport until I made it outside. I looked around the airport before I saw a man holding a sign with "Dynasty" on it. I walked over to him.
"Dynasty?" He asked. I nodded.
"Chandler," He introduced himself.
"Nice meeting you," I said as he opened the backseat door for me. I climbed into the Yukon and waited for him to close the door.
"I'll place your suitcase in the trunk," He said, taking my suitcase. He closed the door and walked to the trunk. He placed my suitcase in the trunk. After he did that, he closed the trunk and walk to the driver's side. He got in and drove away from the airport.
"Where to, ma'am?" He asked me.
"The Ritz Carlton," I said.
"Which one, ma'am?" He asked.
"The one that is 3.4 miles away," I said, looking at my phone. He nodded.
I checked my messages and emails. I replied to some of them and ignored the rest of them. After I finished, I placed my phone in my bag. I looked out the window and took in the streets of Chicago.
About 10 minutes later, we had arrived at the Ritz Carlton. Chandler parked, got out, and opened my door.
"Thank you," I said as I got out. Then we walked to the trunk to get my suitcase. He grabbed it and placed it on the ground. I grabbed it and handed him $100. "Thank you again," I said.
"You're welcome," He said as I walked inside of the hotel. I walked to the front desk.
"Hey, welcome to the Ritz Carlton," A man greeted me. "Do you have reservations, or do you want to book a room?" He asked.
"I have reservations under Nicole Lewis," I said.
I put the reservations in a fake name due to safety reasons.
"Last four digits on your debit card?" He asked.
"4462," I said.
"Okay, I have you down for a 3-night stay," He said. "Check out on Monday," He added. I nodded. "How do you want your room?" She asked.
"King size bed," I said. He nodded
"Your total is $1,027.53," He said. "Do you want to use this card on file to pay, or do you have another card?" He asked.
"Remove that card," I said. "And I'll pay in cash," I added. He nodded as I reached in my bag and handed him $1,040.
"Okay, $12.47 is your change," The guy said. "Here are your room keys," He added, handing me the keys. "You're on floor 11 and use the elevators to your right," He said. I took the keys and nodded. "Do you need someone to take your luggage?" He asked.
"No, thank you," I said.
"Okay, well, call to the front desk if you need anything," He said.
"Thank you," I said before walking to the elevators. I pressed the button and waited for it to open.
Once it finally opened, I stepped on it and rode it to the 11th floor. Once the elevator dinged, I stepped off of it and walked to my room.
I unlocked the door and walked in. I looked around the room and took in the sight. It was a nice room, nothing to fancy. But it was nice.
I set my bag on the bed and pulled out my MacBook. I opened the laptop and went to the files. I clicked on the file that was labeled as Chance/Murda/Chicago. All the information I needed was on this file. Today was Friday, and I have been doing my research on him since last Sunday.
I read through the file and then looked at the picture that I found of him. It was an old picture of him because he looked to be about 16 or 17 on the picture, and now he's 29. I looked and saw that tonight he'd be at one of the clubs he owns.
For the next few hours, I read over his file over and over again, trying to make sure I knew enough about this man before I went hunting after him.

* 6 Hours Later *
I was now getting ready to go to a club to find Murda well Chance. I had just got out of the shower, and I was now drying my body off.
Once I finished, I walked back into the room and opened my suitcase. I grabbed one of my matching bra and thong sets and put them on. Before I looked for something to wear, I put some deodorant and lotion on. Then I started looking through my suitcase for an outfit.
I decided to put on a black, leather mini skirt with a white scoop neck crop top. I grabbed my Gucci heels that were made out of leather. I walked to the mirror that was by the door and looked at my body. I looked good and tall as hell. I was already 5'10. But with the heels on, I was about 6'0+.
I walked back into the bathroom to do my hair. I decided to wear my hair down. I had flat ironed my hair last night, so it was pretty straight.
Once I finished my hair, I went to order an Uber. After I did that, I walked back into the room and grabbed my purse. I placed my phone, keys, and wallet in my purse before going back in front of the mirror. I looked over myself one more. Then I grabbed my purse, walked out of the room, and got on the elevator.
I rode the elevator down to the lobby as I placed lipgloss on. The elevator dinged then opened. I walked off of the elevator and walked out of the hotel, hearing my heels click.
I walked outside and saw my Uber parked in front of the hotel. As I walked to the car, he let the window down.
"Nicole Lewis?" He asked. I nodded and got into the backseat. "Do you know the address to the place?" He asked.
"No, but the name of the club is Smokers," I said.
"Okay, I know where that is," He said.
The drive to the club was about 15 minutes long. Once we made it, I handed the man a $50 bill and got out of the car.
I walked to the entrance and saw it was a line wrapped around the building. I will be damned if I wait in that line. I looked at the bouncer who was standing at the door frowning. I knew he wasn't let me go in, so I'd have to persuade one of the people that was in the front of the line.
I let out a deep breath before I started walking to the line. I looked at the people in the front of the line to see who'd I be asking.
I saw two girls standing in the very front. They were talking to each other and laughing. I walked up to them and got their attention.
"Excuse me," I said. They looked at me. "I know y'all don't know me and vice versa, but I was wondering if I could walk in with y'all," I said. "I don't feel like standing in this long ass line," I added, being honest.
They chuckled before looking at each other. Then one of the girls said, "Girl, we don't mind. We know how long these lines can get."
I smiled before stepping over the rope and standing by them.
"Thank y'all," I said.
"You're welcome," They said as the people in front of us walked into the club.
"Name?" The bouncer asked us.
"Laura Cole," The taller girl answered. "And these are my plus two," She added.
The bouncer looked at his notepad then at Laura then at us before he stood aside so that we could get in.
We walked in, and I began taking in my surroundings. I made sure to pinpoint all of the exits.
"Well, thanks for letting me come in with y'all," I said.
"You're welcome," They both said.
"Have a good night and be safe," I said to them before I walked to the bar.
I sat at the bar and looked around again to see if I could find Chance anywhere. I continued scamming through the crowds of people until I saw him.
His looks caught me off guard. He was beyond fine. He had changed a lot since the picture I got of him. He was a boy on the picture, but he's definitely a man now. I looked over him from head to toe. He was very muscular and tatted. He was someone you'd have to double take at.
I snapped out of my thoughts and began watching his every move. I watched as he spoke with a man before walking away and walking towards a female. They began talking for a minute before they walked away.
"Would you like a drink?" The bartender asks me. I shook my head and got up. I began walking in the direction of Chance, and the woman had gone.
I turned a corner and met with being slammed into a wall. The person even had their hand around my neck.
I looked and met eyes with a pair of hazel eyes.
"Why the f**k have you been staring at me, and why the f**k did you follow me!?" He barked.
His voice ran chills down my spine. It was so deep and rich.
"Please remove your hand from around my neck," I said, trying my best to remain calm, not only did he physically assault me but he also yelled at me. All I wanted to do right now is snap his neck
"How about I don't?" He asked, squeezing my throat tighter.
"s**t," I gritted out. I barely could breathe, so I had no other choice but to headbutt him.
"I asked you nicely the first time, but you didn't listen," I said as I quickly grabbed his arm and twisted it back. Then I looked at the woman he was with. "You might wanna leave," I suggested. She took off running. I chuckled. "Well, she sure isn't a rider," I said, laughing.
I grabbed a pair of handcuffs out of my bag and handcuffed him. Then I turned him around to look at him, eye to eye.
"Well, it's nice meeting you," I said sarcastically as I rubbed my neck. It was still hurting due to the tight as grip he had on it.
"Look, bitc-" I cut him off quickly.
"You will not address me as a b***h," I said. "Got it?" I asked.
Then he started laughing, not just a regular laugh. He let out a full-blown laugh.
"You're funny, but you clearly don't know who you're f*****g with, " He said as his voice went cold.
"Oh, but I do, " I said. "I kno-" I was cut off by Chance showing me his hands, which were not in handcuffs anymore. I smirked. "Impressive, " I said. "But you're slacking, " I added. "Your record said that you could get out of handcuffs within 30-40 seconds, but that was almost a minute and a half," I explained.
Before he could even reply to me, two men came up to us.
"Damn, about f*****g time y'all came," Chance said to the men. "Take this b***h to my office," He added, referring to me.
"First of all, didn't I just tell you not to call me a b***h, b***h?" I asked. I looked at the two men who were beside us, and they looked shocked. A second later, I felt a stinging sensation on my face. I know damn well this man ain't just put his hands on me.
As I tried to hit his ass back, one of the men grabbed my arm.
"That won't be wise," He said. I pushed his ass as hard as I could and watched as he flew backward. Then I looked at Chance and punched his ass in his face.
He touched his nose. Then he looked at his hand and saw blood.
"Ima kill your ass," He snarled.
"Not if I kill yo ass first," I said back.
He was about to hit me again, but a voice stopped him.
"Murder, f**k you doing?" The voice asked. I turned and looked at who the voice was coming from. It was a light-skinned man. He was tall but not as tall as Chance. "All of these people out here watching y'all. Let's take this s**t to yo office." The man added.
"Get that b***h and bring her before I kill her ass," Chance said to the light-skinned man as he stormed away.
The man went to grab me, but I jerked back.
"I don't need you grabbing me. I am capable of walking by myself." I said, following Chance to his office.
