Alpha Jaxon
…
“Alpha, the elders are patiently waiting. It’s been two hours and you ordered us not to interrupt your private moment with your mate who isn’t here yet.” This came from the eunuch who currently bowed his head, shivering as he said those words.
It was just afternoon yet I couldn’t wait to see her. I asked my assistant to bring Layla tonight.
Since Alexander imprinted her, I didn't want her to go through a hard time with the mating process.
“Oh, my apologies.” I narrowed my eyes, before moving to stand up. I wanted to see my mate so badly but it seemed like these responsibilities came first. “Is the meeting populated by the good or bad Elders today, Oliver?"
Oliver was my eunuch, an entirely bald man with no hair but entirely skillful in the court. He was one of those people that witnessed me as a teenager, right from the time I conquered the oppressor of this pack claiming it as mine.
"Alpha... are you sure you want to-“
“Tell me.” I seethed, with a sudden urge to know.
“Fine. On the right-hand, are the politicians that plotted to overthrow you. The left-hand side, however, consists of the good ones who are in your favor. They’re safe for now..”
“Those bastards.” I spat. “I’m very sure they’re still bent on doing their evil deeds. Or did they change their path?” I asked with a little bit of hope at least, that I wasn’t that much of a bad Alpha to them. My hands, swept my hair before wearing my gold crown, which glittered in the sun.
“I’m afraid they’re still the same, my Alpha.” Oliver retorted, timidly.
On my features was disappointment as I said, “Duly noted.”
I straightened my shirt, gracefully walking down the hallway as I opened the door to the throne room. The royal announcer immediately got to walk with the other entourage, they were all in their signature color which was white and black.
“The Alpha is approaching everyone, pay your respects!”
At this, the foreheads of everyone kissed the floor in respect and the elders who plotted to overthrow me paid their respects like nothing happened. They made it seem like I never went on a journey in the first place.
That I never went to participate in Silvermoon pack’s choosing ceremony and they didn’t send anyone to ambush me on the way. Evil bastards.
Alexander, my demon communicated with me the instant we thought of it, the ambush, how everything had happened the other day. It had been extremely bad if I had to be honest because at first, my city people weren’t aware that I was the one.
All they were told was to eliminate a demon that strayed.
“Are you the Alpha of the liberated Wolves?”
My face was covered, in a dark mask so none of them could see what I looked like. But my nose didn’t fail me as I smelled my allies, the men I grew up with but had to live because of an incidence…
“Yes, I am.”
I said, before opening my face. On recognition, the folks of the Devil city apologized before telling me the truth about them. The so-called Elders I thought were my allies. It made me disappointed…
I went as far as asking myself questions like.
Why did they do it? Did they see me as a misfit? Why will you plot to overthrow an Alpha that freed you from slavery-
"Alpha!!”
Those words brought me out of my thoughts immediately. I sat on my seat looking straight forward but I could still hear Alexander though. He was extremely pissed that I wasn’t taking any action. My wolf hated the cool way, he wanted to be straight-forward in almost everything. He was the one who kidnapped Layla, our mate.
Whilst my wolf imprinted her, Alexander took her forcefully with the words that she was ours and not anyone else’s thus she was to be with us forever.
Get rid of these elders, what are you waiting for?
“Alexander, it doesn’t work that way. I might be Alpha but we have to be graceful in our doings.”
Pssst. This is why we don’t work well.
He replied, making my body move forward that second, making me elevate effortlessly, stepping right in front of the elders who betrayed me.
"Alexander, stop it. Alexander, don’t.” I tried to appeal but he didn’t yield, wanting their verdict this instant. The Elders were astonished.
My eyes illuminated yellow with my horns elongating from my forehead. Alexander didn’t transform fully though; he never did for a reason…
“W-What’s happening?” one asked, which my demon replied with, “Elders on the right side, you are to pay for your sins of plotting against your Alpha.” Alexander spat at them.
“What are you talking about, Alpha? Will we dare do such outrageous thing?!” someone exclaimed.
“Oh, why, why, now... don’t you remember? You sent some of the Devil’s city folks to eliminate me, did you forget?”
It was this moment, the mask of pretense fell off as they said,
“How did he come to know of it?” Among themselves, they whispered. Their heads were beaded with sweat while one of them gasped, “There’s no way he could have known, unless...”
“…his city people made a fool of us! They definitely exposed our intentions instead of eliminating him...”
“No wonder they are called demons,” An Elder added.
They all shivered, running in front of the major leader. “What are we going to do, Garrison? The Devil City folks have no mercy. H-He’s going to kill us now.” he stuttered, entirely frightened.
“I suggest we all run.”
Garrison was the leader of the Rogue Elders. I got the information that he was the one who had gathered them in the first place. He also linked them with some folks from the Devil’s City thus that gave him the knowledge that the sentence for demon folks who strayed was instant death.
Strayed demons were the ones who ran away from the Devil’s city. But he was mistaken. I didn’t stray. I left because of an incident which only a few people knew of…
From my research, Garrison wanted to be Alpha. This was what stirred him to plan this coup in the first place. If only my demon was patient with me, but he wasn’t.
“Alexander! Don’t!” I exclaimed but he didn’t heed. His focus was only on the 100 Elders who had stood up on the furnished brown floor. You can’t run from me.
Alexander breathed out those words as swift as possible, as he began to approach the Elders who tried to run with their wolf speed. You can’t run from your shadow.
My demon had one ability. He could imitate any power he came across and use it to its advantage. However, there was a flaw we were still training on. We wanted to be able to advance in every ability and merge with my wolf successfully.
Training with that motive, it wasn’t easy. How were they even going to merge together when they always opposed each other?
…
“What’s happening in the throne room?” I could hear a servant whisper. “It’s Alpha Jaxon. He found out that some elders plotted to overthrown and murder him.”
“Oh no, how could they do such callous thing?”
“Wait till you hear the full story. They went as far as striking a deal with his city people, this stirred him up-“
“All servants, prepare 100 wrapping clothes. Direct orders straight from the Alpha!"
“When did I order that?” I spoke those words out only for Alexander to say,
I ordered it.
He snapped the necks of the elders who betrayed me as he retorted however, I still combated with him to have a grip of my body. If I counted, he had successfully removed 78, with the floor covered in wolf blood.
“Are you going to stop?!” I cried out. “This is madness, Alexander. It won’t solve anything.”
Madness? No, no, these elders went too far!
“Please. This is 86 and counting, just stop. You don’t have to take them all.”
Alexander severed our mind link, taking full control of my body. I noticed it was 99. It was Garrison remaining out of them all, making me wonder how he managed to stay hidden? I think it stirred my demon because Alexander walked to him with anger written in his features.
A white light shone suddenly, from the entrance to the meeting room. That path led outside meaning someone had successfully entered without being noticed. It was a man; he had this iron sheath around him that appeared to be formidable and he muttered something. It seemed to be like a chant.
“Leviosa...”
Garrison and the man disappeared that second whilst a gentle wind embraced the throne room, leaving me surprised.
The same look was written on Alexander’s face and on realizing he just lost the actual leader. He went inside, handing me full control of my body in annoyance.
