Chapter 9

"Jade, would you go out with me?" Ryder raises his eyebrows at me.

"Umm... I-I... duh...umm I-I-I cant. I'm-I'm sorry but.. no. Thank you but no, I'm sorry." I half-smiled at Ryder.

The bells rings.

Ryder just standing on the front with his head down. I know this is very humiliating. I just cant go out with him. I know he is not like any other guy who I always dumped. I'm just afraid if I hurt him.

I take my ransel and half-smiled at him then went out from the choir room. I dont know what to say to him to explain my reason. Ugh this is really complicated.

"Jade, you shouldnt say no to him." Marley stops my way and hold my sleeves.

"I know. I just cant." I shake my head.

"Why? Because he used to had crush on me and you afraid with that?" Marley raises her eyebrows.

"No. I'm afraid with myself. He is so nice to me and he is sweet and I'm afraid that I will dump him like what I did to any other guys." I said to Marley. "I date a guy just for fun not because I love them and they're jerk not a good guy like Ryder. I cant, Marley. I'm afraid." I shake my head and walk away.

I let out a sigh and keep walking in the hallways. I never be like this before. He is such a good guy and I'm a player and I dont belong to him so I better find a jerk and make him think that I already have a boyfriend.

And that's a jerk who can be my target. I smirk as Bradley and his rugby team walk down in the hallways and walk passed me. Yeah no one of these guys can handle my guys magnet.

"Hey, Bradley." I smirk at him.

"Hey, hottie." Bradley smirk back at me and standing in front of me. "You're just like a sweet chocolate cookies from the oven. Smokin."

"You are the ten thousand people who said that." I smirk at him.

"Would you mind to go out with me someday?" Bradley smirks at me.

"I'd love to." I smirk at him and walk away.

See? That's easy for me to get a jerk like that. I can easily play it cool and tease him then play him like my toy then dump him. That's me. And that's the thing why I dont wanna go out with Ryder.

Ryder's POV

I hide my body behind the locker rack as Marley stops Jade and ask her the reason why she rejected me to go out with her. I'm a good guy and I never get arrested. I like her because I know her from inside.

I keep looking at them until Jade start walk away from Marley and Marley just half-smiled and start walking in the hallways.

"Marley, Marley, how?" I catch Marley's hand and bring her to the corner.

"She said that she doesnt wanna hurt you. She always dumped guy and you are a good guy not a jerk like she always go out with. I cant convience her, Ryder. I guess you should be the one who convience her." Marley half-smiled at me and walk away.

"I know that." I mumbled.

I dont know what to do. Shall I be a jerk so she wanna go out with me? That's stupid. I never be a jerk and I never play with a girl before. I like Jade because I know her from inside.

I let out a sigh and hold my ransel then start walking in the hallways again. I go back start walking in the hallways until I see Jade and Bradley, the rugby captain are smirking at each other in the hallways.

Why she still want to keep playing with those jerk? When I'm here is the one who loves her and know that she is different. But I trust Marley. Jade wont say no if she didnt afraid with something and I guess what Marley said is right since Jake ever told me about the reason why she become a player.

No. I wont give up that easily. I'm in love with that player. The one that everyone thinks she is player, hot, and naughty. But the fact she is just innocent, funny, smart, and clumsy girl.

Jade's POV

I'm laying my body on my bed. I cant stop thinking about Ryder. I shouldnt do that to him but I'm afraid with myself. I'm afraid that I will hurt him. He is too nice to me and I cant handle that.

"Oh Ryder, I regret for saying no to you." Jake mocked me.

"Shut up, dickhead!" I roll my eyes and cover my face with my blanket.

"I'm renting this room to have a date with Marley. So please please you stay in guest room for a while." Jake says to me.

I didnt answer him but still laying my body on my bed and cover my whole body with my blanket. I cant stop thinking about Ryder and it's killing me. I never feel so pity like this before when I dump a guy and why I feel so pity to Ryder like about he is going to be sad or anything.

"Jake, you got your friend here." Mom shouts from upstairs.

"Coming!" Jake shouts and went out from our room.

I'm still laying down on my bed and I take my phone from my side table. I dont know should I call Ryder and apologize to him because it was humiliating. But I dont have any guts to call him. Ugh I really dont know what to do.

"Wow you got a basement bedroom." Marley and Jake walks in.

"Miss, I though you already move out." Jake give me a sign to move out from our room.

"I wont disturb." I simply said and take my blanket and my phone then lift up to Jake's bed on the top.

"Are you okay, Jade?" Marley asks me.

"She regretted her choicr to reject Ryder and now she cant stop thinking about him." Jake simply said.

"If you dont want me to disturb your date you better shut up!" I simply said and cover my whole body with my blanket.

I have to apologize to Ryder tomorrow. It was really humiliating and I shouldnt do that. I just can say in front of the others and say no when there is only two of us. Yes that's right. But it's same. No difference. Ugh stupid.

Okay okay the thing is I have to apologize to him. That's it. And go out with him. There is nothing wrong to go out with someone else. Besides we're just friends. And I wouldnt dump a friend.

Ryder's POV

I walk to my locker as I see Jade is standing in front of her locker and reading her book. I should talk to her. Maybe what I did yesterday was embarassed her in front of the glee club and now I want to apologize to her.

"Hey." I smile at her.

"Hey." Jade smiles back at me.

"I-I..."

"Hi babe, are you excited for our date tonight? I already prepared something." Bradley suddenly standing next to her locker and smirk at her.

Ugh I really hate to see this. He is hot but he is just another jerk in this school and also the player one.

"Really? That's sweet." Jade smirk back at him.

"So you will come right?" Bradley smirks at her.

"Well...." Jade smirks at him but then she suddenly cross her hand around my elbow and make me frown at her. "I already planned something with Ryder tonight. You're late, honey." Jade smirks at him.

"That guy huh?" He frowns.

"Yeah. I'm sorry." Jade smirks at him.

He just glare at us then walk away. Did she just dumped him even they're before dating and that was totally cool.

"What a jerk. You think that I wanna go out with you and have s*x with you? Hell no." Jade mumbled.

"The way you dumped him was cool." I said to her.

Jade uncross her arms from my elbow then turn her face at me. "I meant what I said." Jade says to me.

"What do you mean?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Go out with you tonight. If you still want to go out with me." Jade half-smiled at me.

"I would love to." I smile at her.

"I'm sorry about yesterday and it was really humiliating and I shouldnt say that to you. I have my reason actually but after I've been thinking about that, there is nothing wrong to go out with you right? I mean just go out besides that we're only friends." Jade smiles at me and turn her face to her locker.

Friends for you but more than that for me. But I dont mind. You might dont have feeling for me right now but soon or later I will make sure you'll be crazy about me like I'm crazy about you.

"You still mad at me?" Jade turns her face at me.

"No." I shake my head and shut my locker. "I though I was the one who make you feel embarassed because of that song yesterday." I said to her.

"No, it wasnt. It was beautiful actually and thank you." Jade smiles at me.

"You're welcome." I smile back at me. "Now, wanna walk me to the boys locker room for the photoshoot?" I raise my eyebrows at her.

"Sure." Jade nodded and shut her locker.

We then start walking together. She just put her hands inside her cheerios jacket pocket as we walk together in the hallways. I cant believe that this is happening.

"So what are we gonna do tonight?" I ask her.

"I had a new dvd. It's The Wolf of Wallstreet. It's Leonardo De Caprio and Margot Robbie. A little bit nasty but funny." Jade says to me.

"Cool." I nodded.

"Last night Jake and Marley watched The Hunger Games but ended up with made out." Jade rolls her eyes.

"You were there?" I chuckle.

"Yeah. But I slept on Jake's bed and covered up my whole body with blanket and wondering shall I call you or not...ups." Jade said without looking at me then cover her mouth with her hand.

"But you didnt call me." I chuckle.

"I was about to apologize but my mom always told me that apologize directly to someone is the better one." Jade smiles at me as we enter the boys locker room.

Jade just walk away to the photoshoot place and I walk to my locker and take my costume for the photoshoot today.

"You both talked?" Jake asked quietly at me.

"We will go out tonight at your place." I grin at Jake.

"Great. I will be home really late tonight because I want to go out with Puck. Jade and Puck always mock each other so I cant bring her." Jake says to me and walk away.

"February!" Tina shouts.

"Here." I shut my locker then walk to the photoshootin area.

"Hold that love pillow." Tina says to me and points to a love pillow.

I walk to in front of the camera and hold that pillow then make some hot pose and sometimes built a smile on my face. I turn my face at Jade and she just helping Jake with his costume.

"Okay next!" Tina says.

I walk of from that mini stage until Jade give me my costume. "Thank you." I smile at her.

She just smile back at me then cross her hand on her chest and looking at the photoshooting while Brittany taking some photos.

I'm just walk to bit further than them to change my costume for the next photoshoot. I love doing this but the things that I really cant wait is my date with Jade tonight.

I walk back to behind the camera as Jade is standing behind the camera and exchange with Brittany to take picture for us.

"July!" Tina yelled. I exchange with Jake and walk to the photoshooting place while Jade is taking picture of me. "Give me sexy liberty. Give me sexy freedom. Give me "I want you" sexy." Tina grins at me. "All right, August is up next!" Tina says and I exchange with Sam. "Artie, are you sure you don't want to pose?" Tina asks Artie.

"Oh, I'm happy posing with this bounce-board over here." Artie answer.

"Hey! Why don't we do August with a few of the guys? Blaine, why don't you jump in with Sam? You're looking particularly cute today." Tina smirks at Blaine.

"I'll do it, too." Joe says to us.

"No offense, Joe, but I don't really think you want to be in a shot next to me. My washboards are gonna make you look like a bloated white Bob Marley." Sam says to Joe.

"That's really mean, Stripper!" Jade frowns at Sam. "You cant just judge someone because of their body, Musclehead." Jade says to Sam.

"I'm as God made me, dude." Joe says to Sam.

"The way you called me musclehead is also mean." Sam simply said to Jade. "Look, the reality is that we probably should have just done a Sam Evans calendar." Sam says to us.

"Yes, and every month we could see you dressed as a different brand of jerkwad." Artie simply said.

"Guys, we waited too long! I lost my pump.

I need five minutes." Sam says to us and walk away.

"He is really Musclehead." Jade frowns.

"Thanks for defending me." Joe says to Jade.

"It's okay." Jade half-smiled. "Jake, you're up." Jade turns her face at Jake and start taking some pictures.

See? She is different. She is mean but she mean in the right way. She loves defending someone who's not wrong and that the things that I like the most about her. She is not a bad girl like what people been talking about. I just cant really wait for our date tonight.

Jade's POV

"Waiting for someone, honey?" Mom asks me.

"Yeah. I'm waiting for Ryder." I nodded.

"Okay but after he got in, dont forget to lock the door okay. Jake told me that he probaby will have sleepover with Puck tonight." Mom rubs my hair and walk upstairs.

"Yes, mom." I nodded and still sitting down on the sofa and hold the sofa pillow.

I look at the clock and it's already 7.30pm. Ryder supposed to be here since one hour ago but where is he now? I know that he must be wont come here because I hurt him and it was really stupid.

Suddenly the door bell rings. I stand up from my seat and walk to the door and open the door and Ryder is standing in front of my door with his coat and beanie hat also a shawl.

"I'm sleepy, you better go back home." I simply said and about to close the door again.

"Jade, I'm sorry. My car doesnt work so I took the bus to get here and the bus was late." Ryder says to me.

"You late one hour and the burger also popcorn I made already cold and spoilt." I simply said to him.

"I'm really sorry. You know that it was really cold in the bus shelter but I wasstill standing there and wait for the bus so I can come here to meet you and I ran from the main street over there to get here. I'm really sorry but I'm here right now." Ryder says to me.

"Did I ever tell you that I dont like a guy who being so late?" I raise my eyebrows at him.

"I know. I'm sorry." Ryder rubs my cheek.

"It's okay. Just come in." I said to him and let him in. "I can just heat the food back into the microwave." I halfsmiled at him and lock the door.

"I'm really sorry." Ryder half-smiled back at me.

"Just wait in my room. I'll come there." I said to him and walk to the kitchen.

I take the plate of homemade burger that I made and put it into the microwave. I dont know. Something is wrong with me. It feels different. If any other guy late, I would just shut my door and lock them out and let them die in hypothermia but when Ryder came, I even just wanna bring him in and let him sitting down near the fireplace to keep his warm. This is so weird. Like really weird.

Suddenly my microwave is ringing. I take off my plate from the microwave and place it on a food tray also those condiment like mustard and sauce then walk off from the kitchen and walk to my room.

I open the door and enter my bedroom and see Ryder is sitting down on the ground in front of my bed and turn on the tv. I'm just sitting down next to him and place the food tray in front of us.

"You made this one for me?" Ryder asks me.

"Yeah since two hours ago." I simply said to him.

"What should I do to make you forgive me? You know what? It was freezing in that bus but I dont care with that, I just kept thinking how to make you understand because I know that you dont like a guy who loves being late and I was late. One hour. But that bus was the one bus that took me here to meet you and I would wait forever to see that bus come." Ryder says to me.

"Even though if it's the ghost bus?" I giggle.

"Yeah. Or maybe zombie bus." Ryder chuckles. "That would kill you and eat your brain like rawr."

"Stupid." I chuckle. "Okay so since I made that food for you so you have to eat or I will kill you and eat your brain and share it with the Zombie." I laugh.

"Yes, ma'am." Ryder smiles at me.

I stand up from my seat and walk to the tv cabinet and put a dvd on my dvd player then go back to sit down next to him and hug my pillow and look at the tv screen.

"You have to try this. This is really delicious, seriously. I didnt know you can cook." Ryder says to me while he is eating the burger.

"You said that so I can forgive you right?" I raise my eyebrows.

"No." Ryder shakes his head. "No, seriously." Ryder says to me and feed me that burger. "See? Delicious right?" Ryder grins at me.

"Not bad." I giggle while chewing my food.

Ryder keep eating the food until he finish it and take a glass of drink. I'm still sitting down next to him and looking at the tv screen. But then he start sneezing and sniffles.

"Are you okay?" I frown at him.

"I'm fine." Ryder turn his face at me.

"Your nose is red. You must be getting cold and flu because you went out for so long." I half-smiled at him. "Here, keep your body warm." I said to him and wrap his shoulder with my blanket.

"Thank you." Ryder smiles at me.

"It's okay." I smile back at him then turn my face to the tv screen.

Suddenly Ryder put his hand around my shoulder along with the blanket I gave him. I just cross my legs on my chest and he wrapped our body with my big and warm blanket. I never feel so warm like this before and it feel different.

I turn my face at Ryder and we start looking at each other until he looked at my lips then push his face closer to me and kisses me while cupping my cheek. I dont know what to do but I guess I have to kiss him back and I just did.

"I'm-I'm so sorry." Ryder half-smiled at me then sneezing.

"It's okay. Do you want me to make a cup of hot tea for you?" I raise my eyebrows.

"No." Ryder shakes his head. "Just stay here and it will gone. Trust me." Ryder says to me.

"Okay." I nodded then lean my head on his shoulder.

I know I feel something different inside. Like something sparkling when he kissed me and it feel pretty good. Just like I'm having my first kiss. Oh God what's wrong with me?

Today is the selling calendar day. I already bought mine and now I'm standing in the line in choir room to get my sign from the boys and I just wanna make my own line for every picture.

"Please make it out to: Jade Puckerman, the next Miss Universe." I said to Artie and shows him my calendar.

"You have to win that miss Spanish first." Artie chuckles and give the calendar back to me after he signed it.

I'm just giggling and looking at my calendar then change the page and give it to Sam. "I'm sorry for calling you stripper and musclehead. Now just write down anything you want to say." I said to Sam.

"Here." Sam give the calendar back to me and turn his face at me.

I look at my calendar and he just wrote 'apologize accepted' with a smile emoticon. "Thanks, Sam." I smile at him and go back to walk and standing in front of Blaine. "Please make it out to: Blaine Anderson's big fan." I said to Blaine.

"You're my fan?" Blaine chuckles and write the things I said on my calendar.

"Thank you. I really adore you." I grin at Blaine then move to Jake and show my calendar to him. "Write down to the best and most beautiful sister in the world. Do that or I will kill you." I said to Jake.

"I would write down to the worst and most annoying sister ever." Jake simply said and give the calendar back to me.

I look at the calendar and he wrote down what he said to me. I roll my eyes and let out a sigh then move to Joe. "Please make it out to: the most and nicest woman in the world." I said to Joe.

"For the nicest I agree but for the most beautiful one, I have to think and pray about that." Joe said to me and give the calendar back to me.

"Ugh fine." I exhale and walk to Ryder, the last one. "Just write down anything you want to write but if you can I want 'To the Miss Universe for every year'." I said to Ryder.

Ryder just smiling at me and give the calendar to me. I take that calendar and read about the thing he just wrote down 'I like you and I'm into you -Ryder'. I just can built a smile at me and smile shyly at him.

"What?" Ryder smiles back at me.

"Thank you." I smile shyly at him while holding this calendar and about to walk off.

Ryder leave his seat and catches my hand and stops me. "You dont wanna say it back to me?" Ryder raises his eyebrows at me.

"Thank you for this and I really appreciate that but I just wanna take things slow and I dont wanna be in a relationship right now." I said to Ryder.

"I totally understand with that." Ryder rubs my cheek.

I'm smiling at him and wrap his hand until Ryder push his face closer to me then kisses me softly while cupping my cheek. I just dont wanna hurt him. I dont have actual feeling for him but he is really nice to me and make me feel special and that's why I just can kiss him back and tell him that he is sweet one. And I know something is wrong with me.
