Chapter 4

Sectionals is this week along with thanksgiving. We already prepare the dress that we will wear for sectionals but we havent find the set list for sectionals but I guess that Finn will tell us today since Puck told me that he is in McKinley with the alumni right now.

I just went out from my boring algebra class which the teacher wont let us go out from the class before the lesson really done. And it was really make me sleepy.

We got our nationals trophy and Blaine back. He stole the nationals trophy back from The Warblers with Sam and I guess that it was pretty cool. Seriously.

My relationship with Ryder is getting better now. Well, even though we didnt talk much but I'm still think about the strategy to make Marley stay away from him especially I saw that Marley and Jake are like into each other now.

"Sorry, I'm late." I walk enter the choir room as I see some strangers are standing in front of us.

"You lose your compass because you dont know the right direction, Puckerman?" Kitty mocked me.

"Hey, your boobs looks getting bigger, how many socks you put into your bra now to make that things getting bigger?" I smirk at her and sit down on the backseat.

The others start chuckling. I turn my face at Jake and he grins at me then nodded. "Ugh she lied." Kitty rolls her eyes.

"I really like that girl. Who the hell are you?" A latina girl who I bet Santana asked me.

"My little sister. Jake's twin's sister. Jade Puckerman." Puck answer.

"I cant believe that there is a latina in your Puckerman's tree." A girl with big nose says to Puck.

"Alright everyone we got a lot of work to do today." Finn walks in from the office. "Do you realize, standing before you are legends? Any single one of these guys could be President of the United States one day. And lucky for us, they've agreed to help us.." Finn says to us.

"Hang with the new chumps and see if some of our sheer awesomeness doesn't rub off on you. It will." Puck says proudly.

"When you hear your name, pair up. Puck, you're with your brother. Mike, you're with Ryder. Marley, you're with Rachel. Jade, you're with Santana." Finn says. I stand up from my seat and walk to the front and smiling also standing next to a latina girl named Santana. "Kitty, you're with Quinn. Wade, Mercedes. Now, your mentors are here to help you with whatever you need: Singing, dancing..." Finn got cut off.

"Birth control." A girl named Quinn cut him off.

"You're so funny and self-deprecating! We're so much alike!" Kitty grins and points at themselves.

"Wanky." Santana simply said.

"The worst mistake that we can make is to underestimate our competition. The Warblers are ruthless this year." Finn says to us.

"Don't forget about the Rosedale Mennonites. Any show choir that can raise a barn in five minutes deserves mad respect." Artie says.

"Marley and Blaine will handle our duet, and for the showstopper we're doing Gangnam Style." Finn smiles at us.

"Seriously?" That girl named Rachel frowns.

"Okay, lumps, let me just say out loud what everyone here is thinking: You finally got an okay haircut, you're not doing that annoying half smirk as much as you used to, but you're still a i***t. No one in this room can tackle a massive dance number except for Brit..That includes your little "Hand-Jive" that, to me, looked more like a hand.." Santana says.

"Is there any way Mr. Schue can come back for this?" Joe asks.

"Listen to me, we have never lost sectionals before, and there's no way we're gonna do it under my watch. We can and we will succeed! We need an ambitious number with a strong dance element. That's the Warbler's calling card, and we need to blow them out of the water. And Mike said he could easily show one of our guys how to do the dance number." Finn says and points to Mike Chang.

"I did?" Mike frowns.

"Crap. I, uh, I kind of forgot to ask you about that..But one of our guys is gonna have to take the lead with Brit. So who's it gonna be?" Finn asks us.

"Hello? White Chocolate." Sam points to himself and start dancing like a stripper.

"Oh, no, no, no." Mercedes shakes her head and faceplam.

The bell rings.

"So you're Puckerman?" Santana asks me as we start walking together.

"Yeah. Puck is my half-brother and Jake is my twin brother." I nodded. "Look, I have to be honest about you something." I giggle.

"Dont tell me that you're a gay." She frowns at me.

"No. I'm straight. It's everyone here called me Young Santana Lopez and I had no idea who were you until I asked Puck and he told me about you and I'm glad that Finn paired us up together." I grin at Santana.

"I can see that. When I look at you, I feel like I look at myself in front of the mirror. Mean, hot, popular b***h. Just like the way you pissed Kitty girl off." Santana says to me.

"Kitty is my homegirl. We like to hanging out together but sometimes I dont like her and I dont trust her." I said to her.

"Well, that's just like Quinn and I." Santana chuckles. "What is your position in cheerios?"

"Co-captain as Kitty is the captain one." I said to her. "Sue made me get into cheerios and called me with Young Santana Lopez."

"And you just agree with that? I was the captain of cheerios for my senior year." Santana says.

"I need to keep straight A. To make my mom proud and Sue told me that you got a scholarship in University of Louisville." I said to Santana.

"I did. After my s*x-tape leaked online." Santana simply said.

"Well, I have a class right now. You're such a cool mentor. I like you." I smile at her and walk away.

I walk in the hallways with my ransel on my back and hold the book file. Santana is really cool and I guess when everyone said that I'm just like her, it's absolutely right.

I keep walking in the hallways and turn my way to the homeroom until I see Ryder is walking down with shoelace hang loosely. I make a little run to him to stop him. The mission is back.

I walk to him and block his way. He raises his eyebrows at me. I didnt say anything but kneel down on my knees and tie his shoelace.

"What are you doing?" Ryder asks me.

"You want everyone laugh at you when you walk in the hallways because of your shoelace?" I simply said. "Done." I said to him and stand up.

Ryder's POV

I'm walking down in the hallways alone and holding my book file. Jake just told me that he went out with Marley last Friday since I had to study with special teacher.

Suddenly Jade blocks my way. I raise my eyebrows at her and she suddenly kneel down on her kness and tie my loosely shoelace.

"What are you doing?" I frown.

"You want everyone laugh at you when you walk in the hallways because of your shoelace?" Jade simply said. "Done." She suddenly stand up.

I turn my face and she really tie my shoelace. No one would do this to me before. "Wow you really cool..." I turn my face at her but she already gone.

I turn around and she go back walking in the hallways alone and turn her way to classroom. Why she always love walk away when I havent say thanks after she helped me? I let out a sigh and make a little run to that classroom and enter that.

A guy was about to sit down next to her but I run to them and glare to that guy. He shrug and walk away. And I got to sit down next to Jade.

"Arent you supposed to have special class?" Jade asks without looking at me.

"Only on Thrusday and Friday. Why you always walk away after you helped me?" I turn my face at her.

"I almost late for the class." She simply said and look straight to the whiteboard.

"I just wanna say thanks." I said to her.

"You dont need to." She simply said.

I turn my face back to the whiteboard. I dont even understand what is the thing the teacher write. I turn my face at Jade and she just studying and really focus with that. I let out a sigh and keep looking at her.

I just realize that she is beautiful and hot at the same time. I know she is co-captain of cheerios also a kicker from soccer team. She is tough but nice. Wait, what the hell I'm talking about.

"Can you please stop looking at me like that?" Jade frowns at me.

"Or your boyfriend will kill me." I chuckle and turn my face to the front.

"I dont have a boyfriend." She simply said.

"Oh I'm sorry then." I giggle.

"I just wanna focus to keep straight A. That's it." Jade says.

Marley was really right. I was wrong to call her with S word. She is different. Besides when she told me that she never sleep with a guy before, she really meant it. Then when she sang that Rizzo song that was beautiful and she cried especially after we fought. Damn! She is not a bad girl only a little bit mean. No, not mean. She is only tought. Wait, why I cant stop thinking about her?

"I saw a drum set in your room." I said to her.

"That's mine." She simply said.

"You can play that?" I raise my eyebrows.

"For what I place there and my mom bought me that if I cant play that?" She chuckles.

"Yeah you're right." I chuckle.

"Yeah. Why you ask me that?" Jade turn her face at me.

"Because I also have that one in my room and I love playing that." I smile at her.

"I can see that." She nodded and turn her face at her book.

Jade is kinda easy going person if you know her. I feel really guilty for calling her like that when she is totally different than that. She is really different, smart, hot, and beautiful. Holy hell! What the hell I'm thinking about.

"I think that Ryder is starting liking me. He scared me during the class. He cant stop starring at me." I said to Jake.

"You can stop the mission if you want. Marley is really into me now." Jake says to me.

"Okay from now on I stop the mission. No more teasing him." I sigh.

"But thanks I owe you one." Jake smiles at me.

"It's okay. Just buy me frozen yogurt." I smile at Jake.

"I will. I'll be home late today so just tell mom that I have basketball practice or anything. I'll see you at home." Jake kisses my cheek and walk away.

I turn my face to my locker and arrange my locker. "How the hell I didnt know that your locker is next to mine?" Ryder chuckles.

Oh damn this guy again. Jake really made me trapped in him. He scared me the whole hours during the class by starred at me now he is here.

"You and Jake are really close huh." He chuckles.

"But we fight everyday in everything and after five minutes we can make it up again." I simply said.

"I dont have any siblings so I dont know about that." Ryder giggles.

Well, I also didnt ask you that and I dont wanna know about that and I dont care. I roll my eyes then shut my locker and wear my cheerios jacket then hold my ransel on my back.

"Hey, do you mind if I drive you home?" Ryder grins at me.

I raise my eyebrows at him. "You wanna drive me home?"

"Yeah. You're being so nice to me. Besides I eavesdrop that Jake went out so..." Ryder giggles.

"Alright. I dont need to find Puck then." I simply nodded.

"Cool." He grins at me and shut his locker and we both start walking in the hallways together. This guy really scared me. Seriously. Jake must pay for this.

"Along with being beautiful, the three of us are National Showchoir Championship goddesses." Brittany says to us.

"We are winners. Which is why Finn has asked us to come and shower you with the inspiration that is the Unholy Trinity." Santana says and points at herself, Brittany, and Quinn.

"Santana, Brittany and I knew each other so well that I could tell by the slightest quiver in Santana's upper lip which way we were gonna move. Whether our hips are gonna shake or shimmy." Quinn says to us.

"No. You girls have to be tight up there, okay?" Santana says to us.

"The judges love the feminine quality, and the Warblers just don't have it. It's about being individuals. You know, we're all different. But it's also about synchronicity." Quinn says to us.

"Can you give us an example?" Marley asks.

"It's been a few months, but I'm sure the three of us could put together something on the fly." Quinn smiles at us.

They stand up from their seat then nodded to the band until a music begin and they start dancing together.

They ended up their song with applauding from us. I turn my face to the door until I see Ryder walk passed the choir room and smiles at me. God, I'm done with my mission but he still scared me.

"Are you okay? You just look like someone who's gonna hurl." Santana frowns at Marley.

"Yeah. I'm okay I'm just tired with all of rehearsing." Marley says nervously then walk away from the choir room as the bell rings.

Santana and I just looking at each other. I shrug. I dont know what's wrong with Marley. I told her to stop make herself starving and I dont know she still continue that or not.

The boys are in auditorium for the auditioning the dance number for the lead with Brittany. But I guess it's already over since I saw Ryder walk passed the choir room.

I take my ransel and hold it then went out from the choir room. "Do you know what's going on with Marley?" Santana asks me.

"She kinda had an extremely diet." I said to her as we walk together.

"Ugh poor her. This is bad. Berry went back to New York because she fought with Finn and now she doesnt have any mentors." Santana rolls her eyes.

"You can help her if you want. I dont mind with that." I said to Santana.

"You sure?" Santana frowns at me.

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Alright, I'm gonna get her and check out her bag and find something." Santana says to me and walk away.

I'm just shrug then turn my way to my locker and put my book file into my locker. I shut my locker but Ryder shocked me by standing next to my locker.

"Can you not shock me for once?" I raise my eyebrows at him.

"I'm sorry but I have to tell you something that I got the dance lead part." Ryder grins at me.

"Well, congratulations with that." I fake smile at him. "Oh that's my brothers. I'll see you around." I wave him a goodbye and run away as I see Puck and Jake walk in the hallways together so I run to them and standing in the middle of them.

"Whoa what happen? Easy girl." Puck frowns at me.

"How the hell you let him to get that lead part?" I turn my face at Jake.

"He didnt mad when I told him I went out with Marley then he want to lead the dance so I let him." Jake says to me.

"That's a real solid you're doing for that Ryder dude. 'Bros before hos' was always my mantra in high school. Well, it was after I knocked up my best friend's girlfriend." Puck says to us.

"What's matter with you huh?" Jake frowns at me.

"He scared me. He smiles at me. He reaching out my locker and then-then he told me that he got the lead which is I dont care with that and this is happened because of you." I said to Jake.

"I though you already ended up the mission." Jake says to me.

"I did but he become nicer to me." I sigh.

"Wait, what's going on here?" Puck frowns at us.

"I asked Jade for help to make Ryder stay away from Marley by make him turn into like her and I guess it's really happening." Jake chuckles.

"Let me tell you, little sist. You got the Puckerman's magnet that I told you many times. You should be proud because you're hot and all of us got that magnet. Seriously, if you werent my sister, I would hook-up with you." Puck grins at me.

"Ugh forget it. You gave me no solution at all." I roll my eyes.

"I got this, little bro. See that furrowed brow, lips pursed, hand on her hip, this is what I like to call 'Loopy Quinn'. It's an irrational state that she apparently only reserves for Puckermans." Puck says.

"Quinn, I think you're being a little out of line here." Puck frowns.

"The only way you're gonna win sectionals is if Marley's at her best. And if you keep distracting her, she's not going to be." Quinn says and walk away.

"Kitty must be the one who told her. Look, I can stop Ryder but I cant stop that bitch." I said to Jake.

"I will stop her if she is still trying to ruin my siblings." Puck simply said.

"With?" I raise my eyebrows.

I'm just chuckle and roll my eyes. "Come on, I'm hungry and I dont wanna be alone or Ryder will scared me again." I cross my hand around their elbows and walk with my brothers in the hallways together.

Today is sectionals and Thanksgiving day. And I'm kinda excited with my first performance on the stage especially the sectionals will be held in our auditorium.

I went out from the closet and see Marley is fixing her hair. "Hey. You look beautiful." I smile at her.

"You're more beautiful and this is first time I saw you in a formal dress." Marley smiles back at me.

"Thank you." I giggle and fix my hair a bit then went out from the girls toilet with Marley.

"You know that Ryder will kill me if tell you about this but he cant stop texting me and asking me about you." Marley says to me.

"Oh you want me to tell him to stop texting you because it's bothering you?" I raise my eyebrows at Marley.

"No. It's just I know he had crush on you." Marley giggles. "Wade! I mean, Unique, you're back!" Marley shouts as Unique just shut her locker.

"You look beautiful." I smile at Unique.

"Yes, in all her glory. And as you can see, she is ready for her close-up." Unique smiles at us.

"I thought your parents didn't want you wearing..." Marley says.

"They don't. They're trying to protect me.

But what they need to understand is if I'm not being true to myself at least when I'm performing, then there won't be anything left inside me to protect. So they can keep talking about sending me to a camp for little boys who like to wear dresses, but I will not and I cannot be ashamed of who I am or how I look." Unique grins at us.

"You look beautiful. I think it's inspiring how brave and proud you are. I wish I was more like that." Marley says as we enter the choir room.

"Hustle up, you girls. You're gonna miss show circle. And welcome back, girl." Mercedes grins at us.

"What's show circle?" Marley asks.

"Come on." Santana takes my hand and Marley's hand.

"It's a tradition before every competition." Tina says to us.

"It's something Mr. Schue made up. And today I want to add to it. Joe, how about you lead us in prayer?" Finn says.

"Whoa, dude, Old Testament. There's Hebrews here." Puck says and points to him, Jake, and I.

"Yeah, okay. This is one of my favorite Bible verses from Isaiah. Considering that the Warblers are so good, and that it's the first competition for a lot of you, I think it's appropriate. So do not fear because I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I will strengthen you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand." Joe says as we are holding hands together and pray.

"All right! Ugh! Man, I-I remember our first sectionals like it was yesterday. We came together as a team because we had to. Because no one outside our circle knew how much we'd been through, and how much it meant to us to win it. This is our house. Look into the faces of these graduates. They've been to the mountaintop. This is just the first step in your climb to meet them there." Finn says to us.

"On three?" Santana grins and raise her hand.

We smiling at each other then walk out from the choir room and start walking to the auditorium and enter the auditorium.

"A reminder that the American Legion Turkey Shoot begins at 6:00 p.m. So, please, drive carefully. Now, put your hands together for our distinguished panel of judges! Lima News Obituary Editor, Stan Cook! Chief Historian of the Lima Locomotive Museum, Harrison Paolucci! And the 2012.Defiance County Catfish Queen, Allison Metcalf!"

The stage lamp turning on and a guy with Dalton Blazer standing on the stage. "Break a leg. I'm Hunter Clarington, and we're the Dalton Academy Warblers. Hope you enjoy the show."

The curtain lift up and they start singing their first song, Whistle by Flo Rida. I'm just sitting down with the others and looking at their performance with those jumps and many things. Second song they're playing Live While We're Young by One Directions and finish their performance with full of applauding from the audience.

We then walk out from the audience seat and start walking to the backstage. Now it's The Rosedale Mennonities performance. I just raise my eyebrows as Ryder whisper something at Jake and Jake just nodded. What is that? Ugh I dont know and I dont care.

We are just standing in the backstage while The Rosedale Mennonities are performing. I turn my face at Marley and she walks to the vanity mirror and look freak out. I was about to comfort her but Jake stops me and he walk to her and say something to her.

"Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the stage, The New Directions."

We then walk to the stage as the curtain lifts down until music come out and the curtains lifts up and we start singing.

Almost at the end of the performance Marley fall down to the ground and she fainted. Jake's trying to wake her up but it's not working until he lift her up and bring her out from the stage as we walk away from the stage to choir room.

"Give her some room. She needs space! Breathe, girl, breathe!" Unique says.

"Does anyone have anything she can eat?" Kitty asks.

"I have some leftover Halloween candy in my locker." Tina says and walks off.

"I may have a juice box." Blaine says and walk away.

"I'll go get Marley's mom." Joe says and run away.

"This is bad. Never in the history of show choir competitions has anyone ever fainted." Artie says.

"We got the juice. We got the juice." Sam yelled and give the juice to Marley.

"No, I'm okay." Marley shakes her head.

"Drink the damn juice!" Kitty yells.

"Marley? Marley, are you okay? What happened?" Finn asks.

"She hasn't been eating. She's been skipping lunch." Jake answer.

"Is that because you've been telling her to? You trying to turn her into a damn rexy?" Santana glares at Kitty.

"What? No. Why would I - why would I want that?" Kitty shakes her head.

"Cause you're a crazy, evil bitch." Santana simply said.

"Hey, Marley, you all right?" Mr. Schue walks in.

"The nurse is on the way, Mr. Schue." Finn says to Mr. Schue.

"Santana, Puck, you stay here with Marley.

The rest of you guys, get back up there. Leaving the stage mid-competition, for any reason, is risking immediate disqualification." Mr. Schue says to us.

"What?! That-that's a rule?" Finn frowns.

"Yeah, it's a rule. One of the bylaws, actually. As all of you all were spiraling into a self-created K-hole of crazy, the judges, by unanimous vote, have declared the Warblers victorious. Hey, congratulations, Finn Hudson. For the first time in its charmed, yet pitiful existence, the New Directions has lost Sectionals. But here's the good news. Christmas came early for one Sue Sylvester." Coach Sylvester smirks at us then walk away.

No one of us saying a word. Marley just start crying. I'm just being quiet. This is first performance of my life and we all lost. Which mean that our time is next year.
