Chapter 5

I went out from my classroom and holding my bookfile. Until I see Ryder is standing on the corner and smiling at me. I dont know either he is smiling at me or smirking at me. I just roll my eyes and turn my way to my locker and open my locker.

He really scared me and I dont know where he got my number because he start texting me and I guess it was from Marley and I dont wanna ask her since she was down because of what happen on last sectionals.

I shut my locker and put my hands inside my cheerios jacket then walk to the choir room for the glee club. I gasped when I see the choir room is empty. No music sheet, no music instrumental, and no throphies.

I turn my face to the others and they just sit down on the ground and half-smiled. I sit down on the back row until the rest walk in include Ryder who suddenly sitting down next to me. Finn and Mr. Schue just standing on the front and half-smiled at us.

"So, that's it? No more Glee?" Sam asks.

"Until next September." Mr. Schue says.

"Sugar already bailed." Artie says.

"Can I just say what everyone is thinking? This is Marley's fault. New Rachel, my butt. I knew Rachel Berry. I was friends with Rachel Berry, and you, Marley, are no Rachel Berry." Tina says angrily.

"Mm-hmm. Preach." Artie nodded as agree.

"Guys, guys, enough. It's not like it's over. The holiday concert is later this week, and we are going to be preparing for it all week long. If this is our swan song, let's make it the best one it can be." Finn says to us.

"You really expect us to go up in front of the whole school and parade our loserdom for all to see?" Kitty asks.

"Yeah, Kitty does have a point. We agreed to do the show when we thought it would be on the heels of another Sectionals victory. Now it just feels like a pity party." Artie says.

"I love to sing and dance as much as anybody, but without a competition to prep for, it's hard to get motivated." Tina says.

"I understand that we need a little shift in perspective, but let's just enjoy this week, and look forward to our big comeback next year." Finn smiles at us.

"That's right." Mr. Schue nodded as agree.

"What about those of us who won't have a next year?" Sam asks them.

They just being quiet and standing on the front. The bells rings. I let out a sigh and stand up from my seat. One by one of them leave the choir room. I put my hand inside my cheerios jacket pocket and went out from the choir room. That was really bad. Seriously.

We lost sectionals and which mean there is no glee club anymore. Well at least for the sophomore like me still have another year but for those seniors? They dont have just like what Sam said.

Ryder's POV

I went out from the choir room and half-smiled at Marley. I know that everyone in choir room must be blame her because of this but everyone in that choir room have a point.

I let out a sigh and go back walk in the hallways until I see Jade is walking down alone with her head down. Since that day I cant get her out of my mind and I cant stop asking Marley about her and I guess I had a crush on her now.

Jade is a girl that hard to get. I know that. I've been texting her since I got her number from Marley but she answer my text with simple words and it's really turn me on to keep trying to get her.

"Can you stop starring at my sister's butt?" Jake frowns at me.

"Sorry, dude. She is kinda hot." I chuckle and turn my way to my locker.

"Not kinda but she is." Jake simply said and open his locker.

"Does she usually date a tough guy?" I ask Jake.

"Hold up, are you trying to DUFFing me on my sister?" Jake frowns at me.

"What -ing you?" I frown. "Okay I told you the truth, I cant get her out from my mind since last week. It was crazy and I cant stop texting Marley to tell me about your sister." I said to Jake.

"You had crush on my sister after you called her slut?" Jake raises his eyebrows at me. "So you're kinda moved on from Marley now?"

"I dont wanna be mortal enemy with you again. You told me that Marley is different right? So does your sister to me. She is kinda special when I get to know her better and better." I said to Jake.

"Okay I respect that. But dude, I tell you, she is not type of girl who easy to get not like those slut." Jake says to me.

"I know and that's why I feel really guilty because called her that. Look, I see that Marley is really into you right now and okay you got her but just let me get closer with your sister."

"Alright, but I never see her cry because of broken heart or a guy so if you make her cry, you die." Jake shut his locker and walk away.

I'm just chuckle and standing in front of my locker. Then Jade walks to her locker and open her locker which is next to mine.

"Hey..." I smile at her.

"I only tell you this once stop texting Marley and asking her about me." Jade simply said.

"Who told you that? Is that Marley? I will get her." I said and about to walk off.

"Ryder, dont." Jade suddenly catches my hand and stops me. "Let her alone. She is down because of all of these and everyone blamed her especially Tina said something really rude to her. And dont you dare to ask her something that not really important and make everything getting worse." Jade says to me and turn her face to her locker.

I'm just being quiet and looking at her choosing her book from her locker. She is amazing and hot at the same time.

"And dont try to DUFFing Marley on me. She is one of my homegirl and different with Kitty, I trust her so bad." She said to me.

"I dont understand what is duffing?" I raise my eyebrows.

"The D.U.F.F means Designated Ugly Fat Friend." Jade simply said.

"You called Marley ugly and fat?" I frown.

"No." She rolls her eyes. "Watch movie and read urban dictionary." She simply said and shut her locker while holding her book. "It's a job when you use one of my friend to get information about me. If you wanna know about me why dont you ask me by yourself?" She raises her eyebrows and walk away.

I make a little run to her and block her way. "Okay, do you like me?" I smirk at her.

She just looking at me from head to toe. "No." She simply said and turn around.

I'm just chuckle watch her disappeared. She can say no right now but soon or later she will say yes. That girl really drives me crazy and make me turned on to get her. Literally.

Jade's POV

I'm sittin down on my study table and doing my homework in my room.

"Jade, I have pizza from Ryder." Jake walks in.

I just raise my hand and put my middle finger in the air and didnt turn around. Jake just laughs and I heard tv sounds come out.

This is really scared me. Jake told me that Ryder asked him about me and admit that he had crush on me which is makes me crazy. I teased him only to help Jake and I already stopped that but it went too far for him I guess and this is not really like what I expected.

"You dont want this pizza? This is for my pay back." Jake says.

"Your payback wont change anything." I simply shake my head.

"Jade, dont blame me if he had crush on you okay. You always can make guys down easily and now you're blaming me? No way." Jake protest.

"Okay I wont blame you." I let out a sigh.

"Just act normal." Jake simply said.

Yeah act normal like nothing happened. Just being myself. The tough mean b***h and then he will back off easily and done.

I'm walking in the hallways wearing my santa claus cap on my head. This is christmas week and actually I'm a jew so all I can say this is a hanukkah week when miracle happened.

Glee club is being back to one even thought we dont have any place to rehearsal so Finn usually sneaking out and reaching for a place for us to rehearsal even if only for ten minutes or less but that's fine.

I know is kinda crazy when I'm wearing santa claus cap. But I love santa besides that I look cute wearing this cap because I guess I never feel looks cute before.

"You look weird with that cap." Jake laughs and walk next to me.

"I dont need your opinion." I simply said and keep walking with him.

"Oh, hey, Puckerman, yo. You going African, or are you more Hebrew for the holidays? Yeah, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa? Which is it? Kwanukkah!" Bobby and Phil made fun of us and laugh out loud.

I pretend like I didnt hear them but Jake suddenly turn around and beat them. O dont know what to do but they was really mean.

"Hey! Hey!" Puck suddenly stops them and hold Jake's body. "One Puckerman just ate your lunch. What do you think's going to happen when we unload two barrels of Puckshot into your ugly mugs? Huh?" Puck glares at them and they start walk away. "What are you looking at?" Puck yellwd as everyone starred at us.

I take Jake's ransel and give it to him. "You dont need to do that I was about to let Jake kill them." I said to Puck.

"Nah, I dont want you both get into trouble." Puck shakes his head.

"What are you doing here?" Jake asks Puck.

"Just scoping out some chicks, doing a little research for my screenplay." Puck grins at us.

"You're a screenwriter now?" Jake chuckles.

"In L.A, you're nobody unless you're somebody in the movie business. I'm almost done with my first script. It's sci-fi, but it has a high school element." Puck says to us.

"Wow. That sounds really cool, actually." Jake says.

"No. That's weird. Sci-fi in high school? What it would be?" I frown.

"Dont be too honest with your opinion." Puck rolls his eyes and put his hand around my shoulder. "Well, if me being totally honest, I also came back to talk to you. I'm worried about you, dude." Puck says to Jake.

"Well, I'm fine." Jake simply said.

"Fine doesn't get into fights in the hallway.

Think what you need is a little mentoring from your big bro. Come spend a few days in La La Land with me. Let's do Hanukkah together. All you need is some cash for gas and burritos." Puck says to us.

"Wait. You - you want us to drive all the way to California?" Jake frowns.

"Where's your sense of adventure?" Puck chuckles.

"It tooks 33 hours straight to drive from here to L.A." I frown at Puck.

"We can exchange driving. It will be so much fun you know." Puck says to us.

"11 hours straight for each person?" Jake frowns.

"No, only you and I will exchange driving. I dont let a girl drive because last time I know that Quinn got hit by a truck. We just let Jade sit down on the backseat like we both kidnap her." Puck says to Jake.

"Alright, alright. I'm in." I said to them.

"If Jade join, I'll do too. I wont let you kidnap her alone." Jake chuckles.

"Alright, I'll pick you both up tomorrow morning and dont forget to bring much food." Puck says to us and walk away.

"We will have hanukkah holiday in L.A." I grin at Jake.

"What do you think?" Jake chuckles.

"That's cool." I chuckle.

Jake just chuckle and takes my hand as we both start running in the hallways together and laughing at each other.

Jake and I ended up our song with applauding from the others and we both do our hi-five and hugging each other.

"Yeah happy hanukkah to you." Finn chuckles at Jake and I. "Alright, that's it everyone." Finn says to them.

Jake and I grin at each other. I'm kinda excited with the things that we are gonna do in L.A also that long long trip. I just hope that it will gonna be fun to spend the holiday only with my brothers.

"Hey, what are you doing during christmas eve?" Ryder asks me as he is standing next to my locker.

"Puck wanna take Jake and I to L.A for the holiday and celebrating hanukkah together." I said to Ryder and shut my locker. "Why?" I raise my eyebrows.

"I was about to ask you out actually." Ryder giggles.

"Well do you want to know my answer? No." I simply said and walk away.

Ryder's POV

I'm standing in front of my lockee until I see Jade walks to her locker and open her locker. Well, maybe it's the right time to ask her out during christmas eve because it must be beautiful.

"Hey, what are you doing during christmas eve?" I ask her.

"Puck wanna take Jake and I to L.A for the holiday and celebrating hanukkah together." She shut her locker. "Why?" Jade raises her eyebrows.

"I was about to ask you out actually." I giggle.

"Well, do you want to know my answer? No." Jade simply said and walk away.

I raise my eyebrows and my gaze following her. Is she only want to give me a test or really dont like me or she likes me too but she play it cool? I dont know.

"You wanna take my advice? Dont be a d**k and dont give up." Jake says to me.

"I dont understand. She was really nice to me but now she is going back to be mean to me." I frown.

"She is giving you a test. She never go out with a guy who give up easily. If you really likes her, dont give up but dont be a d**k. She just playing it cool." Jake grins at me.

"She would kill you if you tell me this." I chuckle.

"No she wont. I will haunt the basement if she kill me besides is there anyone who knows her better than me and our mom? No one." Jake chuckles.

"But why you do that? You're kinda support me to get her." I shrug.

"You got my back by letting Marley go with me and now I got yours. Just consider that this is my payback to you, dude." Jake says to me.

"Thanks, man." I smile at him.

"Jake, come on I'm hungry." Jade suddenly come to Jake and hold his elbow.

"Alright, alright." Jake rolls his eyes.

I'm just chuckle looking at them. "What are you looking at?" Jade raises her eyebrows at me then walk lead Jake.

Jake turn his face at me and grins at me and give me a sign. I got that sign and yes he was right. His sister just playing it cool and giving me a test. Well, sorry not sorry, baby. I wont give up that easily. I let Marley go but this time I have to get Jade.

I'm sitting down on the backseat of Puck's car while he is driving and Jake is sitting down on the front passenger seat. We already getting closer to arrived in our place. Puck said that he want to bring us to Paramount Pictures Studio.

I'm just eating my cheetos until suddenly my phone is vibrating. I take my phone from my sling bag and Ryder text me again.

From: Ryder

Hi Jade, I know you are having christmas with your brothers but can we have new year eve together?

I let out a sigh and roll my eyes. What is this guy really want actually? This is kinda weird seriously.

To: Ryder

No. Thank you

I put my phone back to my sling bag but it's suddenly vibrating again. That fast? God, this guy is like he never give up or something.

From: Ryder

Please we can do anything you want to do. In your house maybe watching movie

To: Ryder

Alright, in my house, my rules.

I roll my eyes and lock my phone then put my phone into my slingbag. "What did you said to Ryder that day?" I ask Jake.

"Nothing. Just giving him some advice." Jake simply said.

"What advice?" I raise my eyebrows.

"To never give up." Jake simply said.

"i***t!" I groan. "He cant stop texting me and ask me out." I roll my eyes.

"You can just say yes for that. He is kinda cool." Puck says.

"Listen to that?" Jake turns his face at me and points to Puck.

"No way." I shake my head.

"Noah Puckerman." Puck shows his card to tge security while we entering the gate. "There should be a drive-on for us. That's what they call a pass that you get when you're allowed to drive on to the lot. It's a technical term." Puck says while we are entering the gate and he park his car.

I take my slingbag and went out from his car and look around. Wow I've never be in here before and this is first time I went here.

"So, who's your meeting with? Is it about your screenplay?" Jake asks as we start walking together.

"I'm just here networking today. Played with the sweater puppies of one of the assistants of one of the guys who produces one of the NCISes, and she got me the pass." Puck says to us.

"That's cool." I said to him.

"Wow. You really are making things happen." Jake says to Puck.

"It was inevitable. If you're in Hollywood and you're a Jew or a gay, you basically got it made. Well or you guys wanna stay in my mansion?" Puck grins at us.

"You got a mansion?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Yeah. With a pool." Puck grins at us. "But before that hang this jew ornament on that big christmas tree." Puck says to us and hanging an ornament on the christmas tree.

Jake and I look at each other and grin at each other. "Let's start a new adventure!" I said excitedly at them.

"You're funnier than my little sister or maybe because you also a b***h not as annoying as her." Puck says to me.

"You dont meet her everyday. I shared everything with Jade everyday." Jake rolls his eyes.

"You didnt ask her to go out like this?" I ask Puck.

"She just on grade 8th. And I dont like her." Puck simply said.

"I got it." I chuckle and get into his car. I will have so much fun here and actually Jake and I didnt say that we went out with Puck or our mom wont let us so we told her that we went to vacation with Ryder's family.

Now we are in Puck's mansion. We are laying our body on the pool seat and tanning. I'm just wearing my bikini top and my short denim pants and feel this sun.

"No, I'm just renting. I think if I buy, I'd want to be up in the hills. One of those houses they shoot porn in." Puck says to us.

"Excuse me. Aren't you the guy who cleans our pool?" A woman with a kid walk in.

Jake and I just looking at each other and raise my eyebrows. "Yeah, Mrs. Cross." Puck stand up and take his shirt. "Hey. I thought you were in Hawaii for Christmas."

"Yeah, we came back early. You have five minutes till I call the police." She said to us then walk away.

"This isnt your mansion?" I raise my eyebrows at Puck and take my tanktop also my hoodie and wear that.

"Dude, why did you lie to us?" Jake says to Puck.

"I didn't think you'd be impressed by my apartment in the Valley filled with Ikea furniture I never figured out how to put together." Puck says to us.

"So all that screenwriter stuff is that just garbage, too?" Jake frowns.

"Figured it was my only chance to convince you to come move out here with me." Puck says to Jake.

"I'm a sophomore, man." Jake says to Puck. "I mean, we had to lie to our mom and tell her we were going on vacation in Fort Lauderdale with Ryder and his family just to get out here for this." Jake says to Puck.

"Yeah totally." I nodded.

"I'm a mess out here, dude. It's lonely. I've got no friends. It's impossible to meet people 'cause you spend the whole day in your car." Puck half-smiled at us.

"Why didn't you just tell us that? We are family. I mean, I would've understood." Jake says.

"Yeah we are Puckerman. We are family. We are badass but we never leave each other behind. We understand with that." I said to Puck.

"That your big brother is a loser?" Puck sighs.

"Let's go back to Lima. If we leave this afternoon, we'll make it back by Christmas Eve." Jake grins at us.

"Yeah right." I nodded as agree.

"If I go back, my mom's gonna make me go to Breadstix for dinner on Christmas Day while my sister hangs out with her Christian friends." Puck says to us.

"Cool. we'll go, too. And we'll invite our mom." Jake says to Puck.

"My mom hates your mom." Puck frowns.

"Your mom hasn't ever even met my mom.

You feel lonely, you want this feeling of family." Jake says to Puck.

"Fine, then let's do this. We'll make it happen." Puck says to us.

Dinner in Breadstix

"So since when you both start to lied to me?" Mom raises her eyebrows at Jake and I.

"If we tell you the truth, you wouldnt let us. But it was to make everything better, mom." I said to mom.

Now we are having dinner together in Breadstix along with Puck's mom and Puck. Mom and Puck's mom arent talk but glare at each other. And we told them about our trip to L.A with Puck together.

"I was the one who convience them to have a hanukkah with me." Puck says to mom.

"But it was fun." Jake says.

The waiter finally come to our table and bring us our food one by one. "Thank you." I smile at the waiter and take my plate.

"Thanks." Jake says to the waiter.

"How great is this lasagna?" Puck grins and starting to eat the lasagna.

"I saw you once, you know. I came into that diner you were working at after he told me about you. You waited on me. Acted like you had no idea who I was." Puck's mom says to mom.

"I didn't." Mom simply said. "He never told me he was married. He did not wear his ring when we were together." Mom says to Puck's mom.

"Is that how you make yourself feel better? And do the same get two children from him?" Puck's mom glares at mom.

"Stop it." Puck protest. "He split on both of you. You spent all these years hating each other, keeping me and my siblings apart, and for what? To spite some jerk who never loved any of us?" Puck says to them.

"Puck's right. We all have one thing in common: He ran out on all of us. This week with Puck was ridiculous, but it felt different than being with a friend." Jake says to them.

"We're a family. Okay? A pretty messed up one, but still a family." I smile at them.

Mom just smiling back at me and rubs Jake's head. I smile back at her and lean my head on her shoulder.

"Your father really was an ass." Puck's mom says.

"An epic ass." Mom chuckles.

"So let's drink a toast." Puck grins at us and propose a toast. "To the power of the holidays, to new traditions and to an epic ass that did one thing right: He brought us together." Puck says as we start toasting together.

"Cheers." I chuckle.

"Cheers." Jake says.

"Merry Hanukkah, guys." Puck smirk at Jake and I.

"Right back at you, bro." Jake says to Puck.

I drink my drink and look around until I see Sam and Brittany are having dinner with coach Beiste. They turn their face at me and wave me a hi and smile at me. I smile back at them and raise my glass.

Puck's mom and my mom are finally talking to each other. I turn my face at Puck and Jake and we shared a smile. What a hanukkah miracle.
