Anita
I sat on the sofa, watching my sister as she had a video call with one of her flings.
I shook my head as I looked at her. I couldn't help but wonder how Alexander would feel when he found out that his girlfriend was cheating on him.
I'm sorry for the late introduction. My name is Anita Cole, as you all know. I am pretty and have curves that could drive a man crazy.
I know it's not right, but I have a crush on Alexander, my sister's boyfriend. Although we have not met in person, I have only seen him in magazines and billboards.
Elizabeth ended the call and turned towards me with a look of disgust.
I know she hates me, but what I . know is why. Perhaps it has something to do with what happened between me and her ex-boyfriend, Kelvin.
Kelvin has always had his eyes on me ever since Elizabeth introduced me to him. He would follow me everywhere I went, secretly buying me gifts all the time. However, I always refused him because I could not betray my sister.
On this particular day, he came to look for Elizabeth, but she was not around even my parents were not around.
He tried to force himself on me, but my sister came and Kelvin lied, saying that I was seducing him. My sister stupidly believed him, and since then, Elizabeth has been acting cold towards me.
My phone rang, pulling me out of my thoughts. I looked at the screen and saw that it was my best friend, Tracy. I picked up the phone and held it to my ear.
"Hello, baby girl," she screamed, causing me to quickly move the phone away from my ear."What the hell is wrong with you? Do you have plans to burst my eardrums?" I said irritably, as she burst into laughter.
"Come on, I can't possibly do that," she said, and I rolled my eyes, even though she couldn't see me.
"Why did you call me?" I asked.
"Can't I call to check on you?" she responded, and I scoffed.
"It's fine to start... Sorry, it's short," she added."Why did you call me, Tracy?" I asked again.
"Well, Sandra is celebrating her 19th birthday and she asked me to invite you.," Tracy said, and I sighed.
Sandra is my friend as well, but we're not that close. Still, I decided to attend her birthday party.
Her dad is wealthy, but she has never mentioned who he is. When we ask her, she usually ignores us.
"Well, I'll go after my friend's birthday party," I said, smiling like an idiot."Ok then, let's get ready to rock the party tomorrow," Tracy said, and I laughed.
"Bye," I said and ended the call.
I thanked God that my parents were not around as they had gone on a business trip. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to go to the party because they are very protective of us.
My parents are not wealthy; they are average, and I am content with what they have. I am just 18 years old and will be going to university next month. Even though my parents provide me with everything I need, I still feel like I lack parental guidance."Well, let's forget about that," I thought and sighed.
"Let's go get ready for the party."
