CHAPTER 3: Grace Evans/John Evans. Nathaniel went out for work and I procrastinated for a while. I decided to tidy up this place. I tied my hair with a ribbon as I couldn't find a hair tie and started cleaning. I first cleaned the room, removed the dust and vacuumed the floor. After cleaning the place which took me a while to do, I decided to clean myself. I grabbed a clean set of clothes and went into the bathroom to take a shower and clean myself. After cleaning myself and wearing a fresh set of clothes I was feeling a bit hungry. . . again. I can't believe my metabolism. For God sake, I just ate two hours ago. . . f**k you Grace! Before leaving the house I decided to eat some flaming Cheetos and watch something. I decided to watch the German show Dark on Netflix. After an episode, I shut the TV off and get my ass up from the couch. I grabbed the money from Nathaniel's drawer. He left quite a lot of money. . . Cool. I grabbed my bag and put everything necessary in it. I closed the studio door and locked it. A cool breeze slapped on my face. It was freezing in New York City. Thank God it's not snowing for a while. I don't know the locations so I decided to use Google Maps. I need to buy some Christmas necessaries and some clothes for my gender-bender. I cannot wait to transform myself. I went to the nearest Target store and bought a few things for Christmas. I also did some grocery shopping and in the end, I went to the clothes section. I used to get unisex clothes but because this time I'll be gender-bending a lot I should be getting some cool ass clothes. After looking for some clothes, I decided to buy a few. I was not that tall to be considered a guy so I decided to get some shoes that have some heels in them. It will at least make me look a bit taller. You know your average height guy. After getting a few things and spending a lot of money I went back to the studio with a satisfactory smile on my face. Nathaniel and I will celebrate this Christmas together like the traditional way. He has no family so he told me that he doesn't celebrate Christmas but this year he's going to be celebrating it with me. I'll tell him to get the Christmas tree later. I fell on the couch and closed my eyes for a while. First Christmas without the big fat Evans family. . . so cool! Nathaniel will be back in a while. . . what should I do to kill time? Should I make something for dinner? I'm not the best at cooking but I can try. I'm not going to make mac n cheese. That's too simple and I'm not feeling like it. I'm in for a meal. I worked today so I deserve a treat. I decided to make some Fajitas, tater tots and some Baked Beans. I'm sure I'll be able to prepare them till Nathaniel gets home. "Alexa, play Witt Lowry - Into your Arms," I said and danced on the beat while cooking. Yes! This is the life I've always wanted. With the stuffed family that always makes me feel suffocated, I couldn't do what my heart says freely. Running away from the house was the best thing you have ever done in your life Grace. Well done! I finished preparing dinner and heard the entrance door open. Nathaniel was back. I greeted them and told him that I made dinner. "Wow, Evans. You're shining today." He said and I flick my hair in arrogance. "I know, now go and freshen up. If you aren't back in five minutes I will start eating." I told him. "Yes, Madam!" He chuckled and went to get freshen up. I set the plates and put the food on the table. Nathaniel came back a while later and we both sat down to have dinner. "So, what did you do today?" He asked. "Nothing much. Clean the studio a bit, spend a lot of your money, buy some Christmas items, buy some stuff for me and you need to buy a Christmas tree." I told him. "We're celebrating Christmas?" Nathaniel asked in surprise. "Of course we're going to. Why should we not? Remember to buy me a good present." I pointed my finger at him. "It's been a while that I haven't celebrated Christmas. . . but yeah. . . alright." He said and I smiled in satisfaction. "How's the food?" I asked him. "Fine. . ." He said and I glared at him. He saw my reaction and smiled uncomfortably. "I mean. . . they're so good! The fajitas are so mouth-watering. I can't stop myself from eating!" He exclaimed. "Geez. . . no need to overact Nathaniel," I told him and he sighed. We finished our dinner and I told him to do the dishes. He was also tired so I decided to help him a bit. While doing dishes I decided to have a chat about the upcoming year. "After Christmas, I'll be going to change my appearance. I'm thinking of doing a boy cut. You may need to take me to a good stylist." I told him and wiped the plates. "What do you mean? I'm a great stylist myself. I can transform you. It's an easy thing for me, I was also thinking of giving you tattoos, you know, to give you a tough look." He said and I thought about it for a second. "Not a bad idea, to be honest, this way I'll be able to save money and a tattoo on me will also be cool. I'm in!" I told him. "Great! Can you do the remaining dishes? I'm really tired today." He said and yawned. "Fine llama drama," I told him. "Oh and I'll be giving this studio to you. I mean I'll pass by almost daily but I thought to give you some privacy. I'll be staying at the shop for a while and then stay at a place nearby." He said and wiped his hands from the towel. "You don't have to do so much for me Nathaniel, you have already done enough. I can't trouble you more than I'm already doing. I'll get a few part-time jobs and rent a place. You don't have to leave your place." I told him. "Evans, don't get emotional now. I've been planning this for a while. I was thinking of selling this studio and moving on to the new place near my shop but then I thought that this place can be used by you, I'm not forfeiting anything so chill." He said and put his hands on my shoulder. "Oh, if that's the case. Thank you I guess. . ." I told him. "But you have to bear me for tonight, also I'm taking the bed. Good luck sleeping on that coffin size sleeping bag of yours. Sayonara!" He said and waved at me. "You're lucky that I'm too thankful to you or else you will be murdered by me tonight," I told him and gave him a forced smile. "Ohh I'm scared." He booed me and went to the room. I laughed at our absurdity. Christmas is merely in a week. I should keep myself busy with this holiday. Day two in New York City and I guess I'm doing well. . . mostly because I have Nathaniel's support. I wonder how my high school senior year is going to be? According to Nathaniel, I'm doing too much in my life. . . Am I? I don't think so. I've just started spreading my wings and I don't want to stop. I want to do some nonsense stuff before getting serious about my life. Don't worry Grace, you can handle everything. I yawned and went into the room. Doing my night routine, I laid down on the sleeping couch. Nathaniel was already snoring. He must be tired. Time to sleep I guess. . .
