CHAPTER ONE: SOLD OUT Avery kept on walking around the house, admiring everything that was there. "This would be the last time I'd feel it," she said to herself, and she kept on going round. Finally, she got into her room and lay on her bed, rolling on top of the bed with tears in her eyes, she exclaimed "God, I know I have wronged you, but this punishment is painful. What if something goes wrong there? Help me out." A lot of things were going through her mind, she never knew they could do this. "How will my parents do this to me? I'm I their daughter? How sure I wasn't picked up from the streets?" She kept on saying in pain. "Avery, you are doomed." She said to herself. "I never expected things this way, yes, you hate me, but at least if I am your daughter, you'd have mercy and cancel this hell I'm going into," she exclaimed. She was still soliloquizing when her sister came in. "Anna, please save me, tell dad to cancel the wedding," she said to her sis in tears. Mockingly, her sis said, "You should be happy, your CEO came to take you in as his wife, do you know how many people had dreamt of them being his wife?" She said mockingly "What have I done? How can I get married to that man? Anna, I've told you how this man's attitude is, this man got married to three wives, and none of these three wives he married is alive today." "Have you thought of what happened to them? You guys want me to die simply because of the money he offered to Mom and Dad? Even if you don't love me, do I deserve to die?" "Please save me, I'm too young to die, I don't even know this man I call my CEO. He hates humans, he almost killed his sister recently. Is that the kind of man you want me to get married to?" Avery said "Please spare us that bullshit" added Nora. "Avery, I'm your elder sister, and I know that you are safe in that man's house. He has money and luxuries, don't be daft, baby girl," Nora said "Do you think it's about the luxuries? It is not about the money, it's not about the houses, it's not about his empire, do I deserve this? Avery added, "Why don't you marry him if it's about the luxuries, we both know how much and how you would go to any extent for money, at least if you are with him, you'd not go around sleeping with men." Avery managed to speak up to her sister for the first time. Both Nora and Anna were shocked, This was the first time she had spoken to her sister in this tone; she was always this soft and quiet, Avery. What gave her all these guts, they thought to themselves. Immediately, Nora slapped Avery. Avery held her cheeks for some while and said, "You should kill me, then for that man to kill me." Avery spoke again "I can see you have guts now when you get to your husband's house and you are being Ill-treated, make sure you bring out your guts, who knows maybe you might not get killed on time," Anna said and they both left laughing at her, Avery could still hear the laughs even though they were far from her, this pained her. Her sister's words sang songs in her ears, this was when she knew there was nothing she could do to save herself. She kept on crying, suddenly she heard the sound of cars in the compound. She looked through her window and saw her supposed husband, This was when she realized there was no escape from this nightmare. "Oh, I'm doomed," she said as she hugged her teddy bear since it was the only thing that comforted her at home. On second thought, she said, "But then again, I won't be treated as a slave anymore, I guess?" She kissed her teddy bear goodbye as she waited for her parents to drag her out of the room. She heard a knock on her door, before she could respond to the knock, her mom opened the door and told the men in black, "Take her away, she's the one." Avery begged and yearned for help, "Mom, please don't let me go, please," she said in tears, but her mom turned her deaf ears to her, and finally said, "Don't worry, you will be fine." Avery was dragged into one of the cars there, and they zoomed off. Avery couldn't help but cry all through the journey. Soon after they got to their destination, one of the men opened the door and said, "Mrs, we are here". Avery alighted from the car and followed them into the house. A maid came out, "Follow me, my lady," Binta said. Binta was the head of the maid staff there. Soon after they got to a room, "My lady, this is your room, please take your bath, lunch will be served soon," Binta said as she exited the room. "The room is quite big and furnished, unlike my room in my supposed father's house," she said as she unboxed her clothes. She finally saw a nice dress she would wear. Now thoughts flew through her mind as she wondered why she was giving out to this monster, she was interrupted by a knock, "My lady lunch is served". "I'd soon be there," she responded and hurriedly took her bath, and joined the maid at the dining She retired back to her room after lunch. Avery stared at the pool from her window. Suddenly, she saw Ethan, and Avery stared at him with her blue eyes, her red lips pressed tightly together. Ethan's muscular build towered over her, his curly hair falling on his handsome face as he came to the top of the pool to catch his breath. Soon after, Avery saw a girl in the pool. "Is my supposed husband together with his mistress in the pool having fun?" She thought to herself. Immediately, I felt so pained. "Is this what I'm going to be seeing each day?
