Chapter Two
James POV
I could not get that girl out of my mind. Like those damn cheesy novels or love story's we got to work on. I had her on my mind. I had to see her again. But would she find me to be a creep if I went back to the diner to see her?
Would she not want me around? So, what I was an actor. I was still a strange man she had to get to know. She knew of me. She did not know me personally.
She just seemed so down to earth. I had a nice time talking to her. She had a great outlook on life. Most women in these parts that wanted to get to know me they were also wanting to be a famous actress.
Or a model. They wanted me to help them get their foot into the door. But not this girl. She was not like all the rest I had ever known.
She made me want to keep her in my life. But once she was in my life fame was going to follow her around like a ghost.
That was why I tended to date women who were famous. Because they knew what it was like to be in the public eye. It was a lot for me to get used to once the studios decided they liked me and had jobs for me to do.
I had her boss's number. He had mine. The next day later I got a phone call.
♥☆♥
"Hi is this James?" someone asks me.
"The one and only" I joke. "Why who is this?" I question as I sit at my kitchen table to use my phone.
"It is Bill Thomas. We met the other day at my diner. I know I said I would mail off the photo. But you are more than welcome to come in and get it" offers her boss. "I would like to offer you a free meal as well"
He must want me to help him with business. But I could go see Ariah again.
"Sure, why not" I agree. "I have time to spare. I can come in"
"Great when?" he wonders.
"Is now a good time?" I wonder.
"Sure"
"Wait..."
"Yes?"
"Is Ariah working today?" I wonder. "the pretty waitress?"
"Ariah? She sure is" says her boss.
"I will be right there" I promise him.

I make sure I look decent. It was not raining today as it was the first day I met her. It was a bright sunny day out there today. I run a comb in my hair then grab my car keys after I made sure I had my wallet with me.
Before long I was rushing out the door. Girls tended to flock to me. But Ariah did not really flock or fawn over me. She lingered. I liked that about her. She had been stunned to see me. I am sure she was surprised. But then she was back to normal after that.
I remembered the place by heart. I did not want to forget it the other day once it was on my mind. I take my car racing a long the out skirts of Hollywood. Passing by the Hollywood sign there, the wooded white sign along that area. I soon come up to the little diner. I pull in fast then park in the same spot I had parked the other day.
I lock up my car. And head in. My heart feels a little jolt of excitement as I walk into the building. Smells of burgers and fresh pie waft in the air as I walk in. I spot Ariah right away as she is chatting with a customer and serving them more coffee.
I hear her pretty little laugh ring in my ears. She brought a lot of joy to others. They liked coming to see her in this little diner. I could tell. By the way people's faces lit up around her.
She was a real people person.
♥☆♥
"Hi James! Welcome back" her boss greets me at the door. "want a booth over there?" he offers.
"No where I sat before was perfect" I answer.
"Booths are more private" he points out.
"I am fine there" I answer. Where I could see Ariah work.
That was where I wanted to be sitting down at.
"Here is that photo. I already gave Ariah hers. And hung one on the wall. I work on photography at home. It is a hobby" he brags as he hands me a photo.
It was a nice photo. He did good. Ariah's pretty face smiles back at me. My arm had been around her tiny frame. She looked so happy in the photo.
I could not help but smile at the photo. I am led to sit down where I had before.
"You could be a regular. We can tell people James spot. He loves sitting here" laughs her boss as he pats me on the back.
"Maybe" I chuckle.
"Order whatever you wish. On me" offers her boss as he hands me a menu. "Ariah come help this young man" orders her boss.
"Yes, sir I am coming" I hear her speak up.
"James!" she announces once she spots me. Her eyes light up with surprise to see me there.
"Hey stranger" I tease. "I am back. Got my photo. Your boss called me"
"Oh, he did?" she laughs. "what do you want? To eat I mean?" she offers. "and drink" she stammers nervously as she blushes' a bit.
"I will have burger fries and a coke please. Cherry" I say as I read the menu.
"You got it" she says.
"And coconut pie" I add.
"Oh we have blueberry today. Just as good" she offers.
"Sure if you made it" I say.
"I did" she answers.
She helps her boss get my food.
Then hands it to me.
"Anything fun you are doing for the day?" she asks me.
"No not really" I answer as I take a bite of burger. "this is pretty good" I tell her.
"Glad you like it" she says.
"How come you never called? Did you get my number?" I wonder.
Now she really blushes.
"I did yes. But I was not sure about calling or what you wanted me to talk about?" she asks me.
"I was wanting to see if you would care to join me for dinner sometime" I say it out loud.
"Dinner? Like a date date?" she squeaks.
"Sure dinner" I answer. "a date yes"
"With me?" she stammers.
"With you yes" I say.
Her eyes stare wide eyed into mine.
"With me?" she giggles.
"Why not?"
"I don't know" she laughs.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" I ask.
"No"
Then why not?
"Why not then?" I ask.
"Alright, when?" she answers at last.
"How about tomorrow night?" I offer.
"I work but I am free on thurday night" she explains.
"That works for me" I say.
"Great we have a date. A date date" she sighs. She smiles at me.
"What is a date date?" I laugh.
"Where more than friends go out. You know get to know each other. And such. A date date" she chuckles. I laugh to.
"Yes, it is that then" I agree. "I can't wait for our date date to happen"
"Me either" she says as she blushes with pride.
I had a date. With a girl I had not been able to get off my mind. I was excited for this. I hoped she was as excited as I was.
Time would tell.
