Chapter Three Ariah's POV I had a date with James. I was so excited. We actually had a long talk on the phone the night before. We had a lot in common. He invited me over at his place. Because he pointed out if we were seen together in public right away then I would be famous over night. I was not sure if I wanted that. If I wanted to be known. Or wanted fame. Let alone know if James and I would last too long. I hoped we would have a chance at that. Every time we talked, I was enjoying his company more and more. I yawned as I finished a cup of coffee. We talked late in the night about poets' writers. People who were long gone before our time. He enjoyed history as well as historic places. He was not well educated like I thought he might be. But he was quick to learn. And I was sure easy to teach. I loved learning to. As did he. He had less of an education then I had. I had more but he had a higher paying job then I did so go figure on that one. I wear some really cute tight-fitting leggings. I did not have to wear my dress uniform today. I wear an adorable sweater top. It was a bit chilly. Fall was on its way. I add a charming red scarf on my neck. Turning it to the side of my neck. I place my comfy red flats on my feet. My hair was extra bouncy today. I grab my car keys then get into my car after I had grabbed my purse on my way out. I was so happy for today. I had really been looking forward to it. As much as the phone calls from James. He really seemed sweet. As far as I was getting to know him. I play some soft jazzy tunes on the beat-up radio on the drive there. I glance back to make sure I was not being followed by anyone. Just because of the crazy stories James told me about Hollywood life. He had a little place of his own around Hollywood but not right in the town of Hollywood. It was well fenced in. Guards at the front gate of a cottage there. A fairly small but humble home. It looked well cared for. I wondered if James took care of his home himself or if he hired people to keep up his home for him. He must lead a busy life. I pull up to the gates of the home. There were guards. I tell them who I am. Then I am allowed to drive up to the house. It was a lovely drive up to the home. Not too long. But away from the roads. The house was a dark blue and a light gray trim. There were bushes all along the siding of the home. Trees towering around it as if to hide it away. The mail box was back resting on the fence. I grab my purse. Take a deep breath once my car was parked. I smile because I was excited. And happy. I had not felt this happy in a very long time. Giddy like a child almost you might say. I press the doorbell then let it ring. I feel my heart pump in the crease of my chest. Then I can hear him walking to the door. I see the door knob turning. He pops out of his door. With a handsome smile on his face. ♥☆♥ "You came! Just at the perfect time! Dinner is done. Waiting for us on the table. Come in! Come in" he warmly greets me as he opens his door for me to head in his place. "Hello again James" I shyly say. He leans in hugging me. I allowed my arms to go around him. He was wearing a striped sweater with dark colors. His hair was perfect as always. He smelled fantastic. His hug was full of warmth. It felt inviting. It made me want to linger there in his arms. But I don't allow myself to stay to long. I pull back and then smile at him. "What is for dinner?" I wonder as I follow his lead to the kitchen in his home. "I made lasagna and bread sticks with salad" he tells me. "wine as well with our meal" he offers. "That all sounds wonderful!" I say. "I love a man who can cook" "I also made a dessert but that is a surprise for later" he adds with a grin. He leads me to the dining area. Candles are lit. There are fresh flowers in a vase on the table. Curtains are closed. For privacy. I smiled. He did all this for me. The salad was ready for us. With garlic bread. He asked what kind of dressing I liked on my salad. I let him know. Then we sit together. ♥☆♥ "The flowers are for you to take home" he mentions as he sits beside me as we have dinner. He poured me a glass of white wine. "You thought of everything James. This night is going along well" I admire him for his effort. I felt so pleased. "It really is, but the company tops off everything" he jokes as he sips his drink. I blush at his kind words. The oven dings. That means dinner was ready. "Let me get the rest of the food" he says to me. When he walks bye, he lightly touch's my shoulder. Then he walks off. My heart even flutters. Like when the boy at school you admired for so long finally smiles at you in class. When your heart flutters from that for the first time. I smile as I sip more of my wine. I glance at the bottle. He opened a very expensive bottle. I knew by the brand as well as the year. And the flowers were so pretty. A mix of flowers and colors. The vase had a pretty ribbon on the front tied around it. A gold sparkly ribbon. I notice a tag hanging off. From the floral shop. I knew the store in town they were expensive. Everyone in Hollywood went with them for wedding events. I gasp a little. He spent so much on me tonight. I was a little impressed he went out of his way for me. He was coming back in the room the food. I sit back like I did not notice it. He serves me the food on a plate. ♥☆♥ "Dig in while it is warm" he tells me. We begin chatting away like old friends once again as we eat our meal. I find the evening to be so enjoyable. I was not wanting it to end. But it was going to have too soon. It was getting to be late out. I had to go to work the next day. "So, you say there is dessert to?" I ask after dinner was over. He nods. "First care for a dance with me?" he offers. He had music playing. I forgot because I loved to listen to him talk. I nod as I place my napkin on the table. And I take his hand when he offers it to me. He pulls me back in his warm embrace. I felt small he was rather tall. Everyone tended to be taller than me. I let myself rest my head on his shoulder when he pulls me in a little closer. His hand is on my back. I feel his warm breath on my neck every so often. He was a smooth dancer. We did not ever trip over each other's feet. He pulls me back to look in my eyes. He touches my cheek with his index finger. Studying me as though trying to figure out what he wanted to do next. His hazel eyes flick back to a light green in the lighting from candles. I smile at him. His serious look turns to a handsome smile. ♥☆♥ "I really am enjoying myself with you tonight" he mentions. "I am as well" I answer. "Can I see you again?" he shyly asks me. "Yes" I agree. "I would very much like that" "Can I call you tonight once you are home? I really have loved our talks" he points out. "I have to. You are welcome to call me any time" I answer. "Can I kiss you?" he surprises me. "Sometimes you don't have to ask everything. Just do it" I giggle. "I am trying to be a gentleman" he chuckles. "Sometimes a girl doesn't need one. Sometimes she does" I joke playfully. He grins boyishly. "Great to know" he laughs. I loved hearing his deep laugh. He leans in. I lean with him. Ready to feel his lips on mine. His eyes close. I let mine close. I feel him inching closer to me. Then they crash to mine. Success. Lips that felt like heaven on earth mold into mine. My return each kiss he gives to me. I can't hear the music over the racing of my own heart in my ears. ♥☆♥ "I better stop or I won't be able to" he stammers. He pulls away breaking the moment. "Oh" I say softly. "That was...." I went to say wonderful. Then he was off in the kitchen. "I have cheesecake" he says cheerfully. He brings us dessert. "James?" I question. "Is something wrong?" "No" he says as he dishes the dessert. He looked flustered. "Well kind of" What was wrong? "I always end up getting burnt. I want this more than anything with you. I want the passion. I want to see where it goes. But I do not want to get hurt. It never lasts" he worries. "Try not to overthink it. We are having a great time. Who knows where this will lead us both. If we stop it because we are scared than we will never know" I softly say. "You are right. I always over think" he adds. "I worry" "You have been hurt a lot. I have to" I admit. "but I know I want this. I want you. I want to get to know you" I tell him. I get up then go to him. "I want to keep seeing you, James Dean" I tell him. 'the real James. Not the James on the screen. Not James the actor. James you, all of you" I explain. I pull him in my arms to comfort him. Then kiss him. He holds me close. And returns' my kisses. After we kiss he answers "I want that to. To know you. Let's keep going. I will see you the next date" he vows" I nod as I pull him back in my arms. Bringing him the comfort he needed in my kiss. As I needed his. •~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
