IRREPLACEABLE BOND ?

CHAPTER 2

AFEEFA'S POV:

"Hajiya mun iso fah"(Madam we are here) Danladi said as he bought me back to earth.

That's when I noticed the tears on my face.

Danladi turned to me and saw me crying

"Hajiya meya faru?"(Madam what happened?) He asked me, concern evident in his eyes.

"Babu" (nothing) I simply said as i wiped the tears away.

He understood and he decided to leave me be.

"Nagode" (thank you) I said as I got out of the car

He opened the car trunk and imitated my moves.

"Bani akwatin kawai Zan iya ja da kaina babu damuwa" (Give me the luggage I can drag it myself. There's no problem.)

"Babu Hajiya, bari kawai" (no madam, just leave it)

I smiled. I really don't like him calling me Hajiya (Madam) but what can I do. I can't just say 'Kai Danladi, ka daina kirana Hajiya!' (Hey Danladi, stop calling me Hajiya!)

Besides even though I say it he will oblige to it. It just didn't fell right.

Danladi has always been a kind, faithful and bubbly worker. He is always nice to people and he never complains no matter how much the work load is for him.

Although he is much more older than i am but, he still treats me like his little sister. He can't speak English and it was because of him that I learnt how to speak in Hausa.

We went through all the necessary things needed to do and some moments later. Danladi left and I was sitting in the waiting area.

I then decided to switch on my cellular data.

I got a message from Leila, Asma, Ameer and our group.

Leila: Hello best cousin ever

Leila:when are you coming? I have been waiting for you?

Me: sorry. I am at the airport right now.

Asma: feefee!

Asma: yane? (Sup)

Asma: Ashe zakiyi tafiya shine ko gayamun bakiyi bah(so you are about to travel and you didn't tell me)

Asma:na gaishe ki fah!?(I'm greeting you.)

Me: sorry best friend

Me: I was bust and forgot to inform you

Ameer: Morning baby sis

Ameer: Came home and found out that you have left already.

Me: morning bro

Me: yeah. Ba ka tafi ko bye dinnan babu ba? (You left and didn't say bye right?)

GROUP: CRAZY CITIZENS

Asma: Hey guys, did you know that Afifa is going to travel to school?

Yasmeen: Haba dai, are you serious?

Asma: I'm dead serious

Yasmeen: I'm going to kill that girl.

Amina: OMG! And she didn't tell us

Amal: this girl?

And the message goes on. I couldn't read all so I sent then an apology.

Me: hey guys, so sorry form not saying anything. Just that I have been busy and all.

I quickly sent it and then I saw Asma's message

Asma: yeah right, and you call me 'best friend'

Me: ?

I switched off my cellular data and logged onto w*****d offline.

I was about to press my favorite story when I heard

"Announcement, flight 215 that's going to Egypt Alexandria has landed" a voice said over the speakers

I mentally groaned and stood up to leave.

We went over some processes again before I went it.

I texted Leila

Me: BC, we have boarded.?

I mentally laughed. I know she is going to ask me what's the meaning of BC. I have grown tired of writing 'Cousin' or 'Best cousin.' Why not just write it as BC.

I called mom also and told her that we have boarded, we were still on the phone when I heard

"Ladies and gentleman, welcome to Egypt air. I'm Jason McCollum and I am your pilot for today. And here with me as my co-pilot is Mubarak Alhassan. I advise you all to switch off your phone or activate your phone on airplane mode and please seat tight with your seatbelts on as we take off in not less than 10 minutes thank you"

I mentally groaned again

"Mom, I have to go. Bye. I'll talk to you when I land Insha'allah. Salam"

I said as I ended the call.

I activated airplane mode and laid my head close to the window and dozed off
