“Why?” I said in almost a whisper. We stood by the empty cauldron, light returning around us. “Why would he do this?”
“What do you mean why?” Anna said with gritted teeth. “I told you it must be Thaibia.”
“Yes, but …” I fumbled for an excuse, a reason.
“It makes so much sense. Of course it was him,” Anna continued. “You know one time Lila, who takes care of that section, told me he was hiding something. When I asked her about it the next day, she dared to fake not knowing what I was talking about.
