I stood in the middle of my room, my stuff floating aimlessly around me, my bag opened wide at my feet, waiting to be filled. I couldn’t wield my stuff to be packed. A tear trickled down my cheek and I was so mad at myself, I let it fall.
I had ruined my life here, like I had done at the Court of Wizards, and it was time for me to move on again. I could be a caller anywhere I wanted. I could find another job. Learn from someone else. Maybe Burk wouldn’t mind if I took a book or two.
