The Queens Rise

Chapter 2

Edward P.O.V. 

We left the pack at 10:30 p.m. and arrived at the border at 11:45 p.m. We are met at the border by the alpha and beta Lexington. It is a 10-minute drive into the back and then the walk begins. Since there are 4 of these a year it's my turn to start it off. 

Hey my name is Alpha Edward and welcome to the mate walk we are here tonight to hopefully meet our mates and you all know if I meet my mate tonight it will be a second chance mate. So good luck to you all and let us get this show started.

I start to walk down the road and all of a sudden smell of lavender and rose hit my nose and all I hear Red MATE MATE MATE. I turned my head to find her. She smells amazing I find her and I walked to a woman in a beautiful red dress. Mate is all I can say and she smiled at me.

Lucy P.O.V.

Alpha Edward made his announcement and started to walk then I smelled the most amazing thing in my life it was manly and it smelled like burnt wood and food. He stopped and walked up to me. Mate is all he says and I can do is smile. He is my mate holy s**t Alpha Edward is my mate. I am both shocked and scared at the same time. l feel at ease which to me makes no sense at all.  He takes my hand and I blindly follow him and we go to my parent's house. How does he know where I live I wondered. As we turn around I see my father and it hits me my parents were standing behind me. We walk into my home and he tells me to pack we will leave right away. I don't know what to do as my mother takes my hand and leads me up to my room. We begin to pack quietly at first then she takes my hand. "Sweetheart you can do this he doesn't seem that bad," my mother said.  "As I said before he treated Amanda with the utmost respect and like a queen. He will most likely do the same with you." she continued.

As I finish packing my father walks in and gives me a box he tells me not to open it till he marks me he says it for the ceremony and that is all he will tell me. I put the box on the bed and give him the tightest hug I possibly can. He kisses me on top of my head and I can hear Edward growl from downstairs. I can already tell he is going to be territorial which I am surprisingly ok with. I hug my mother who is in tears not because of who Edward is but because I'm the last of her children to be mated and I believe she thought it would take a while. I know she's not ready to let me go but she has to. I  step out of my room and down the stairs and I see Edward and his beta who I know found his mate a while back waiting in the living room.  "You ready to go mate?" is all Edward says to me. To which my reply is "I have a name if you would just ask." I said in a smartass tone. He looks at me with a shocked expression on his face like I can't believe she just talked to me like that.  His beta says "well then what is your name smartass? Edward growls at him and says "DONT YOU EVER SPEAK TO MY MATE LIKE THAT AGAIN".  Beta bows his head and says "I'm sorry alpha it will never happen again." 

Edward looks at me and asks me " Well what is your name doll?" "My name is L L Lucy alpha sir," as I bow my head the next thing I know his hand is under my chin and brings my head up till our eyes meet. "Don't ever bow down to me Lucy we are mates which makes us equals," he says to me. "Yes, alpha" I replied to which he said, "you don't call me alpha either you can call me Edward if it is formal and whatever pet name you would like when it's not."
