CHAPTER FIVE

Reign pushed Roman away from her, "my life has become a mess because of you, I had a peaceful life,a loving fiancé and a perfect job but you came and created a havoc in my life. You ruined everything" Reign shouted as tears flow from her eyes. "I hate you so much Roman De Luca"she said with venom and stormed out of the room. All his life he didn't care whether people hated him or not but the thought of Reign hating him hurt him so much. She was the light in his darkness,when he saw her for the first time at the road side chatting animatedly with her friend,laughing freely his heart skipped a beat and he vowed to have her. He didn't waste the opportunity Audrey offered when she gave Reign to him inorder to pay her debt.

Roman took out his phone and called Axel, "ask the pilot to get the plane ready we are going back to New York" he took off his blazer and laid on the couch,he had a long day and needed to rest. Before he could even close his eyes,a knock came at the door. "Everything is ready Roman"

"Okay give me a minute"he said and went to the guest room where he knew Reign was, reign was deep asleep. He stood by the bedside watching Reign sleep and smiled,she looked so peaceful while sleeping. "Am going to protect you always"he said and bent to kiss her forehead. "I promise you with my life"

Reign woke up to Roman laying her on the bed,their faces were so close and with one move their lips would be touching. "What are you doing?" Reign asked nervously,being close to Roman made her feel things she wasn't suppose to because she had a fiancé who was waiting for her. "Sleep I will wake you up when we are about to land"Roman said and left. Reign rolled to her side and I plan came to her mind,she would wait for help to come to her. She was going to escape when they get back to New York. She closed her eyes and for the first time she felt so peaceful inside.

Reign and Roman got home and Reign went straight to the room to freshen up. She got to the bathroom and prepared herself a hot bath,she stripped off her clothes and got in the tub. She closed her eyes and relax,she need a relaxed mind to think of how she was going to escape from Roman's clutches.

Roman got to the room and didn't find Reign. "Reign! Reign"he called out but there was no response. He opened her dressing room thinking she was there but she wasn't,he checked his closet still she wasn't there. He was about to go out of the room when he realized he hadn't searched the bathroom,he walked to the door and listened whether someone was in or not. There was no sound coming from the bathroom,he decided to open the door and check inside. "Reign!" He called out and ran to Reign in the bathtub and took her out before she could drown.,he wrapped a towel around her and carried her to the room. He laid her on the bed and called Axel to get a doctor,Reign was having a fever. She fell asleep in the tub and stayed in the cold water for hours.

An old female doctor with white hair walked in the room together with Axel,Roman didn't notice their presence because he was busy keeping Reign warm. The doctor was so surprised,she had never seen Roman worry for someone like he was for Reign. "Roman "she called out to get his attention. "Soledad thank God you're here please check on her"he said getting up from the bed giving Soledad space to check on Reign. Soledad got down to work while Roman stood their watching Reign closely he couldn't lose her when he just got her. "She's having fever"Soledad said bring Roman back from his reveries, "I've given her medicine to keep down the fever. Here is a prescription for the medicines you have to give her when she wakes up" Roman took the paper and handed it to Axel. "Thank you Soledad"he said surprising Soledad again,she had been working for Roman for a very long time and he has never said thank you to her and all because of a woman he thanks her, Reign was surely special to Roman .

Reign's condition got worse in the middle of the night,all the works in the manor were awake and no one was allowed to sleep until Reign's fever goes down. They were all on toes moving up and down to get whatever Roman needed to bring Reign's temperature back yo normal. "Axe call Soledad and ask her what I should do to get Reign's temperature down"

Roman switched off the AC and covered Reign with two duvet because she was shivering. Axel got everything n eded to be done from Soledad and Roman followed everything to the latter and waited for everything to be well.

Roman never slept that night,he stayed awake taking care of Reign and waiting for her to gain her conscious. Reign opened her eyes and found Roman looking at her,he looked so tired. "Good morning" he greeted in his deep tired voice causing Reign to clench her thighs. "Morning"she said in a husky voice and cleared her throat,she was about to sit up when Roman's voice startled her. "Don't"he said sternly. "You'll be on the bed the whole day,stay here am gonna get you something to eat" Roman left and Reign laid back in the bed and closed her eyes,she was fighting the headache she was having. Why did I have to get sick now,I need to get out of here soon, She thought. One thing she hated about sickness was that it made her feel weak and she had to halt her plans to focus on getting better.Roman got back with a bowl on a tray,he put the tray on the night stand and helped Reign sit up. He put the portable table across her laps and put the tray on it. "Amelia made you chicken soup"Reign wanted to take the spoon but Roman beat her to it. "I'll feed you"

"There is no need I can eat on my own,my hands are perfectly okay" Reign said. "I insist" Reign was stubborn but Roman was more stubborn than her. Reign was weak to argue with Roman so she let him have his ways. Roman scooped little amount of soup,blewi t and fed it to Reign. He repeated the action until he fed her the entire soup. Reign felt so special,nobody not even her boyfriend Jax had ever treated her the way Roman was treating her. Whenever she was sick,she was always on her own. Jax never bothered to visit her,he would just call and asked how she was doing but Roman was different. For a mafia Don he stay up all night taking care of her and evne fed her. Reign was torn apart between staying and going on with her plans of escaping. Roman put away everything and took Reign's medication. "Here,the doctor said you have to take these to help you recover" he out the pills in her palm and gave her a glass of water. "Do l have to take this?" Reign asked making faces which Roman found cute and couldn't help but smule ,another thing she hated about being sick was taking medicine. They leave a bitter taste in her mouth. "For you to get better you'll have to take the pills daily as per the doctor's prescription" reign sighed and closed her eyes, she then put the pills in her mouth and drank the water in one sip. "Good girl,now have some rest" Roman said as he got up,he took the tray and left. The moment he left Reign felt so empty inside,she felt like a part of her was missing. She dismissed the feeling and laid back closing her eyes and slept.
