Steve, Anna, and Ellen got back to the ranch where Anna made it her personal responsibility to take care of Ellen.
Why, she had no idea, but she felt a closeness that she had no way of explaining. She couldn"t understand it herself and wasn"t even going to try to explain it to Steve who just smiled, and seemed to understand more than she did herself.
Good, she thought, maybe he could explain it to her later but for now she had more important things to do. She busied herself with housework before going outside. Looking around she studied the mountains and then the ranch yard. Everything looked to be in order so she headed for the horse stables.
