The secret had gotten out, even though it was hardly a secret as I had already suspected from before that Ace was not a human. Learning that he was a vampire did not change my opinion of him or how I saw him. He was dear friend of mine and had always been even though we had not seen each other in about 10 years.
Ace was beyond delighted. For many years he was afraid that I would find out about him and shun him because of it. Knowing that I handled our differences well made him happy.
