CHAPTER 7

CHAPTER 6 – a queen without king

After saving Charise, she started to stay with me. I told her to stay away from me and always take care of herself but she always appear everywhere I go. When I go to the cafeteria, she’s there. When I go to the tree where I climb whenever it is my free time, she’s down waiting for me. Even when I go to the comfort room, she would be waiting for me. After that, since she would stubbornly follow me everywhere I go, I allowed her. After all, I need someone to tell me information about the school.

“So tell me more about the academy.” I said to Charise. It is currently lunch and we are at the cafeteria.

“Well you know there is a s********e say it’s not true, some called it a legend,” she replies as she seem to struggle in breathing after shoving the burger on her throat.

“What about it?” I asked and bite my burger.

“It’s about a man and a woman who loves each other. But the girl is forbidden by her parents to around any boys. So they always see each other secretly.” She said then shoved another burger on her throat. I swear this girl eats a lot, and I mean a lot. She ordered 5 burgers!

“There is a room where they secretly meet. Only both of them knows, not even the girl’s parents know even though they own the academy.”

“Wait, you’re saying that the girl is a daughter of the owner of the academy?” I interrupted.

“Yes. And don’t interrupt. But the girl’s parents learned about their relationship. They were so angry that their child didn’t follow them. So they made a decision that broke their daughter’s heart. They married off the boy to a random girl so they can’t meet again.”

“That’s cruel.” I reacted.

“You know that secret room is in the main building near the library.” The annoying boy suddenly joined in our conversation.

“We could go there sometime.” He said then gave me a wink.

“Never.” I just said then gave him my snobby face.

“Are you kidding me? Tredon is talking to you!” the bewildered Charise exclaimed to me.

“Hi,” she then greeted the boy.

“Hello to you miss.”

“Uhhhmmm, it’s Charise. Thank you.” She said flirtily which the asshole is enjoying.

“Hey, you didn’t tell me Tredon is flirting with you!” Charise whisper yelled at me. I just shrug and bite again my burger. Charise is staring at the asshole like he is the last man in the world.

“I don’t get why the other girls would fight each other just for me to notice them, while you just ignore me.” He said to me.

“Do you want me to answer that?”

“Yes please I’d like to know why such a beautiful girl like you doesn’t like me.”

“There’s a difference between me and the girls around you. They look at a boy while I seek a man and you are far from a definition of a man.” I seriously said to him while I look at his eyes. I don’t need him popping out everywhere I go. And besides he seriously is a playboy. I often see him around the school hanging around with different girls.

“You wound me.” He replied. There’s a tinge of hurt in his eyes.

“Hey dude, we’re leaving. Are you going to come?” His friends yelled from another table.

“Wait for me.” He yelled back.

“I will make sure you’ll regret what you said little lady. I’ll show the man in me.” He said after getting near my face so quick and left to join his friends.

“Oh my, that is so exciting! And you’re so heartless saying that to him.” Charise said to me after Tredon left.

“I don’t need him following me around. Just you is enough.” I said coolly.

“Well well, if it isn’t the new student.” Someone said a little far from our table. I lifted my head to look at the queen of fairytales with the princesses.

“And what brings the queen of fairytale here?” I said to her with a smirk.

“What did you just call me? I am the Campus Queen!” she yelled. I can see her face turn red.

“Wow. And she losses her composure so fast. It is very not so queen-like.” She came closer to after she put the authoritative-look back.

“I mean no trouble. I just came to warn you. Stay away from Tredon.” She said while looking at my eyes.

I just smiled and let out a light laugh.

“Why? Is he your King? But I suppose not because he surely made it clear that he’s into me.” I said as I walk closer to her. We were so close to each other that I could feel her breath on my skin. Her breathing is so fast, I can tell she’s really angry.

“Just stay away from him! He’s mine!” She yelled. It was a mistake getting close to her, her saliva went to my face! I stepped back a little, wiping my face.

I didn’t notice the small crowd around us a while ago. I heard them talking that Kristel is actually not allowed to be in a romantic relationship. I laughed.

“Did I just hear it right? You are a queen without king!” I exclaimed and laughed.

It made the queen furious. She looked around the crowd. “Who said that!” she yelled. But the crowd stayed silent. She just yelled and stormed out of the cafeteria. The princesses followed her and Alquette gave me a wink which made me smile.

“That was cool.” She whispered to me as she walked past me.

Soon after they left, the small crowd dispersed. Some are gossiping about what happened and some laughed

“Oh my! You really are so cool! Nobody ever dared to talk back to her for so long!” Charise happily said.

“I just can’t stand her.” I calmly said.

We were going out of the cafeteria when we heard the bell, telling us that it is time to go back to the classrooms.
