The CEO hospitalized
"When I was there, these individuals nearly ruined the company. Have you fired them as I instructed?" my dad asked. "You appointed me as CEO just two days ago, and you expect me to start firing our workers? That’s not okay. Besides, since the day I became CEO, I've been observing them, and they’re doing fine," I replied. "Alright then, latest CEO, how is the company performing?" my dad asked laughing. "Everything is going well. We had huge sales today, so much so that we've run out of the chemicals we use for producing drinks. I couldn't get more because I was tired. I'm actually at home right now. Getting those chemicals will be my first task tomorrow when I get to work," I responded. "Good job. I’ll call you later. It's time for the meeting " my dad said as he hung up the phone. I have finished all my activities for today. My room is tidy, and I am prepared for this long-awaited moment. I will do my best not to ruin it. I was sweating, and my heart was racing as I spoke to myself. I turned on the music and let out a deep sigh as I settled into my bed, allowing myself to relax. Suddenly, I heard gunshots in the distance. It was like I was in a dream but everything was real. Our gate was forcefully opened, and a car drove into our yard. The gunshots grew much louder, and my heart began to race faster than ever. I was afraid. I had too many decisions to make at that moment. What is going on, How can I get out of this? I had never experienced gunmen getting into our house. Where are the security men in this house? I asked myself. I tried to call the chief of security for our house, but he didn't answer. I called my personal security, and he didn’t pick up either. The car stopped, the doors were opened, and I heard footsteps coming down from the car and approaching the building where I was. My world was crumbling, and it was obvious that my life was coming to an end. In a state of confusion, I called the police, my goodness! They answered. With my voice trembling, I explained what was happening. After giving them the direction of my location as requested, they advised me to quietly hide in a safe place and assured me that they were on their way to help. In a moment of desperation, I threw my phone aside, ran to the wall drop, opened it, and grabbed a handgun for self-defense. I will not die like a coward; I am determined to fight until the end. I gave myself a pep talk, urging myself to stay strong even as my body shivered. I gently opened the door and quietly left my room, looking for a safer place to hide. As I went down the stairs, I heard a loud noise behind me. The noise made me lose my balance, and I fell down the stairs to the floor. The impact was so painful that I could not move. Everywhere was dusty, smoky, and dark. I could barely see or breathe. I lay on the floor, feeling helpless and unsure of where I was. There was silence for a while, and then I began to hear voices I didn't recognize. I tried to get up, but I could not. I tried to cry for help, but I could not. I felt my life slipping away. Voices were echoing, footsteps were shuffling, I heard air conditioners humming, and electronics beeping around me as I slowly opened my eyes. I found myself in a hospital bed with an IV drip connected to my body and an oxygen mask over my nose. Wires from computers were firmly attached to my chest, and a white sheet was used to cover my body. What am I doing here? How did I get here? This must be something serious, I pondered for a while. I wanted to speak, but all I could say was hmm! hmm!, as I anxiously moved my head left and right. A woman sat in a nearby chair, looking tired and worried. She was asleep. Who could this be? I asked myself. I recognized her; it is Lily, my fiance. I called out, "Lily! Lily!" My voice was weak and heavy, and I found it difficult to speak, but I kept calling her name, Lily! Lily! She opened her eyes and in amazement she shouted, "He is alive! He is awake!" She stood up from her chair and started running as if she was chased by a monster. She kept saying, "Doctor, he is awake! Doctor, he is awake!" She quickly returned with a team of medical personnel who began to examine me. They removed the oxygen mask and gave me an injection, then added liquid to the container connected to the IV drip. They started monitoring the computer screen that was connected to my body. One of the doctors looked at me and asked for my name. I responded in a deep, slow voice, fixing my gaze on him" My name is Ricky.” "That's a good name," he replied. "Do you know where you are?" he asked, gesturing around the building. I knew where I was; I am in a hospital, I replied. "Wow, that's good," he said softly as he turned to my fiance. "Lady, you don’t have to cry anymore. His temperature is normal, his blood pressure is okay, and everything will soon be alright and Ricky will be back on his feet. Lily walked closer opened her arms wide and embraced me. Her face rested on my shoulder. I could feel her body tremble slightly. Her voice was soft and shaky as she whimpered. She then whispered, "Ricky, you are the only thing I have, and I don’t want to lose you." Her words pierced my heart. Suddenly, she was forcefully pulled away from my arms. In amazement, I quickly reached out to grab her, but I couldn’t. As I turned to see who had taken her, I was shocked to see the Chief Judge of my state standing.
