After racing out of the packlands in the Ferrari, I tried to calm myself. I was beyond angry. The rage covered my aching heart that my own father could turn against me. I knew he wasn't a good man, I knew all the things he and his team would do to gay pack members, whether they were our pack or others. I had worked for years figuring out everything that was going off behind the closed doors of our pack, but still I thought I could get him to change. I thought I'd he knew his own daughters truth, that love for me would overcome his prejudice and he would repent. I was so very wrong. The incident at the packlands showed me that. To think I had put Kaia in danger too! As an Alpha she couldn't be unjustly attacked by my father, but I didn't think that he would care about werewolf law anymore. I had to do something to protect our people. Not just our people, but all shifters and humans alike. I needed to come up with a plan and regroup. I needed to find a way to get justice for all the hurt and harm he has caused.
A few hours later
It was well past nightfall by the time I reached Midnight Sun. More like the early hours of the next day. I hoped that I would be able to get straight in, but I didn't know if Kaia had put the pack on lockdown to be safe. I drove up to the gates, and stopped next to the guard on duty, rolling down my window to speak to the man there.
'Good evening Luna, welcome home. The Alpha is at the packhouse awaiting your return. Do you need directions or do you remember the way?' He said pleasantly welcoming me, as if I had always been here. What a contrast to my first visit here 2 days ago.
'I think I remember the way, thanks though!' I replied.
'Very well Luna! enjoy the rest of your night.' He said stepping back and opening the huge wrought iron gates. I noticed the gates had a vague shimmer about them, they were probably enchanted to keep out unwelcome guests. I wondered if this enchantment was new, as I hadn't noticed it before now. I knew Kaia must have connections, she basically ran a haven pack for all shifters and supernaturals, though I had only seen fae folk and wolves so far. I couldn't wait to be out of the car now, I needed to hold Kaia in my arms and feel safe. Today had been a very long day, starting and ending in the same place. I looked at the clock, it was 2am. I drove through the streets looking for places I recognised, the satnav was in my luggage in the back of the Mustang Kaia and Amy had taken back, so I was hoping I could remember the way. Apparently I couldn't, and found myself at a dead end that had a lively looking bar straight ahead. I parked up and headed inside, hoping someone would be able to help.
When I stepped inside I could see it was not a bar aimed at wolves in anyway shape or form. It was a vampire bar. Having never been to a vampire bar, or even met a vampire full stop, I wasn't sure what to expect. As I looked around the plush boudoir styled lounge, I noticed the decadent decorations, velvet high backed chairs and sofas, chandeliers and a huge water feature with what I can only assume was blood running through it, I really had my eyes opened. I noticed a few of the vampires staring at me as I walked nervously to the bar.
The bartender looked at me warily as she stepped over. She was A stunning vampire, pale skin, high cheekbones and long glossy dark hair that fell to the middle of her back, her voice on the other hand was not something I enjoyed when she opened her mouth. It was high pitched, whiny like those typical cheerleaders you see in human movies.
'And what can I get a young wolf such as yourself?'she simpered.
'I need some directions to the packhouse if possible. I have gotten myself a little lost. I'm new here.' I replied as pleasantly as possible. She narrowed her eyes at me, 'How new? I haven't heard notice of a new member to the United Midnight Sun.' She sniffed me 'You don't smell like a rogue, but how do I know who you are?'. My wolf senses told me other vampires were moving closer to me, their silky soft steps getting closer as the suspicion about me rose. It appeared whilst the gate knew who I was, not everyone had been given the memo.
'My name is Sioux, and I am here to see the Alpha, she is expecting me tonight. I am just a little lost.' I state, hoping she believes me.
'You know we had a rogue attack the other day. A whole bunch down in the business district, and another bunch were elsewhere on the land. I don't know who you are, but I certainly don't buy your story. Seize her and call the patrols!' I felt several pair of hands grab and restrain me, slamming me against the bar. Normally I would resist and fight them off, but I was just too tired. I submitted to the vamps holding me before they dragged me off to a room they could lock me in to await the patrols arrival. It was like every moment was out of the frying pan and into the fire over the last 24 hours. Before they locked me in they searched me, finding only my ferrari keys and my phone with a flat battery.
'Are these ferrari keys?' one vampire asks another.
'looks like it! You won't be needing a car like that, wolves have super speed as it is. I think we will keep these.' sneers the other vampire before they leave locking the door behind them.
I waited patiently in the little room, as the hours ticked by I sat uncomfortably on the only chair, hands and arms bound behind me. How was I going to get out of this? Kaia was going to think i was a magnet for trouble. I just thought the moon goddess was trying to test me.
It was nearly 5am by the time a guard patrol arrived to take me in. Not so much as a word came from the fae and wolf sent to arrest me. I dutifully followed them out of the building noticing my ferrari was no longer parked outside. I let out a small growl and the fae officer zapped me. It hurt like a b***h.
'Don't be getting feisty now, I don't want to have to put you in a sleep and carry you in.' said the wolf officer. They stuck me in the back of their SUV, still bound. I was starting to get hungry and annoyed now. Why would no one listen. I couldn't mind link with anyone in the pack as I wasn't officially part of this, and I couldn't link Ryan or Amy as they were still part of Goddesses Tears, and I had been banished there.
'Officers, please. Call the Alpha, she will tell you I am no trouble. Please. My name is Sioux Delacroix. She will be looking for me.'
'Sure she will. Just like the pope believes that shifters and supernaturals are real' they joked between each other. s**t. Now what do I do?
