Chapter 8“You did what?” Kate stopped dead in her tracks where she’d been running alongside me. After all the food and alcohol I’d consumed over the last twenty-four hours, I’d felt the need for a jog. Too worried about being alone with my thoughts I’d dragged my roommate with me.
“Don’t act like you’ve suddenly gone deaf.” I paused to jog on the spot in front of her. I wouldn’t stop even if she had. My mind was racing far too much for me to do that.
“My ears can’t comprehend what you just said.” She shook her head. “I’m going to need you to repeat it very slowly for me so I can really take it in.”
