Chapter 11The half an hour between Kate’s leaving and Lee and Dale’s arrival was the most stressful of my entire life. As if I hadn’t been nervous enough about having them over, I couldn’t stop thinking about what Kate had said. What if Simon had waited for Kate to leave before he tried his luck again? I quickly shook my head and tried to banish the thought whenever it crept into my mind again. Simon couldn’t have possibly known that I wasn’t alone. For all he knew I lived alone.
