a new girl friend

two days passed

bzzzt bzttt phone vibrates.

"hey how are you, are you free tonight?" a text from an unknown number.

"who is this?" meg replied

he has not received any text from aki for 2 days since they had a fight,

she thought it was him.

"its me, how could you ever forget."

"aki?" she replied, she cant think of anyone else but aki.

she was faithful and she was not dating or chatting anyone, aside from him.

"no, no, its john. i changed my number. how could you ever think i was aki.?" confused knowing that meg and aki had been constantly texting.

"ahhh no, i just thought. i havent heard anything from him... its been a while."

"i see. are you guys ok? i was with them last night, at the bar. i wondered why you were not there. i even asked aki and his siblings but they said they dont know ,thats why im checking on you"

"i was just not feeling well. i was sick" her excuse , but she was not really sick.

"ohh really, does he know about that?" feeling concerned

"ahmm i think not, as i said i havent heard anything from him.he might be busy."

"maybe.. by the way, my cousin and i will be at the bar later again. i think he will be bringing some of his friends. you might wanna come, i want you to meet them."

"why" she wondered

"well... i have been talking about you with my cousin, he was curious. but i said he cant court you , you are already taken. joke! hahaha" he replied with an emoji heart.

"lol. taken by who? taken for granted , i guess. hahah" she replied.

"who takes you for granted? youre so cool. " john said trying to check on her status with aki.

"hmm i dont know. by the way, did you come with them last sunday?" as she recalls aki telling her that john will be with them

"no, why"

"i see, coz aki told me, you were coming, so i cant come. no room for me he said. "

"ahm really. i wasnt there. i did not recieved any invites too."

"ok might be reny... do you have reny's number?"

"oh oh, akis in trouble hahah. here's renys number *********91, i might invite her later too" he sent

"why invite her she is a bully. hahah"

"you two will get along, she has a soft side too. she is just like weird most of the time."

"uhm, ill think about later" feeling off that reny is going to be there , afterall she and aki are not in good terms too.

"thank you john."

"yeah, save my number and ill see you later ok?" assuming meg will come at the bar.

puts her phone down and gets ready to go to work.

she thinks about it.

she already had an answer from john. it wasnt him who came last sunday.

is it really true that they went on a gig that sunday night.

or was it just his excuse.

she gets her phone again, saved renys number.

"hi reny, its me meg. were you guys together last sunday night?"

types in her phone but thinking if she will send it or not.

"this girl is not going to give me an answer, she's mean and bully. we are not even close. " she thought.

"maybe ill just go to the bar later and ask her about it if she comes. at least we can have something to talk about" puts down her phone.

it was a busy day on her work, she gets home and feeling tired.

"hi meg, ill see you later at 9. im expecting you'll be there." a message from john

she takes a nap, forgetting about johns invite.

phone rings

she woke up and drops the call. checks on time, its 10 pm.

phone rings again

unknown number

she picks it up for it was calling her 5x already

she answers.

"who is this?" feeling annoyed

"hey ive been calling you. i thought youre gonna come..they started already"

"john?"

"yeah sorry its another number.. its my cousins .. i ran out of load." john said

she thought it was aki. she was still expecting from aki.

"if you want ill just fetch you. my cousin have a motorcycle. where can i get you?"

"uhmm ok ..ok ill be there. i just got home and give me time to change.

ill see you at the 7 11 near my house. " gives directions.

"ok ill be there." he stood up and got the keys from his cousin.

she was nervous

she was thinking that aki might be still mad at her.

she thought aki wouldnt want her to be there for he has not texted her for days now.

but she wants an answer.

shes undecided

but she was shy to turn down johns invite, she also wanted to meet his cousin

and see reny too

though she had a bad impression with her

and that they did not like each other at first.

she wants to meet her.

planning to be just civil

and will play it cool.

even if she is kinda annnoying.

john arrives at 7 11, meg was already there

pulls out his helmet

looking handsome wearing polo shirt

and ripped jeans

he slowly walked towards meg

just like a prince...

he was charming.

she was a bit stunned.

"hey" meg said," you look good, you have a date?" she was kidding

"yeah... you...?"

"i dont have.."

"no i meant ..you are my date. hahaha kidding aside, my cousin and reny is already there." said john, smiling

"he is cute, but i think he has a girlfriend, though i never met one, and he never opened that topic" she thought , as she rides at the back of the motorcycle.

john starts the engine.

relaxed his arm on megs left thigh as he drive to the bar

"are you okay, am i going too fast"

"not too fast, im not really used to ride motorcycles." not thinking about johns gesture.

grabs her arm and wrapped around his waist

like she was hugging him from behind. he was warm.

"hold on tight, ill make it fast hahaha enjoy the ride"

then he accelerates

meg had no choice but to hold tight on his waist

it was fast.

they arrived at the bar in just few minutes.

1st set was over

aki is at the entrance, with his brother, smoking.

he saw john and meg arrived.

seeing meg hold on johns shoulder while she was going down the motorcycle.

she almost fell...

but john immediately catched her.

she was so close to johns face

looking from afar they seemed like theyre almost about to kiss.

he kind of panicked.

and he was feeling jealous.

he tried not show any emotion

as if he did not see what happened.

john looked at megs eyes, and her eyes was locked unto his eyes too

"careful" said john, as he still holds her hands assisting her to walk towards the entrance

meg just laughed , feeling embarrased

"im ok, thank you." as she removed her hand immediately to johns.

she saw aki and his brother

waved hi to his brother and did not look at aki.

"you're on break?" she said

"yeah, you were late." said his brother

aki kept silent

then they walked inside the bar

aki grabbed megs arm and stopped for a moment

"i was waiting for you " aki said

she was surprised that he was expecting her.

as if they were not on a fight

"really? john invited me" like she was cool with aki not texting her.

"you were not texting... "said aki

"i was busy" then she walks away. trying to get hold of her self not to create a scene. trying to be calm.

"you were not texting so why bother" she thought.

though she was really expecting him to text her.

she was expecting an explanation

she was expecting an apology.

aki was clueless

john and akis brother went ahead to the table

there, was reny and a good looking guy. aged around 16 or 18

she wasnt sure.

"meg over here" said john, pulling one seat as he calls meg

"yup coming." leaving aki behind then she sat down

"hey girl whats up" reny waving at her.

and the other guy smiling at her

she waved and smiled back

"meet my cousin, paul." john was introducing them as they shook hands

and reny interrupts, removing megs hand away from paul.

"he is mine." she laughed. "he is kinda cute, isnt he." she whispered to meg.

meg got confused for she knows reny is a girlfriend of akis brother.

she might be a player and she seems like she wanted to have all the attention from the guys around them. except for john.

aki and his siblings went up the stage to get ready for the next set.

"you stay with john, and or aki.. whoever you want but he is mine." reny was kidding.

then they all laughed.

"where are your friends" asked john

"im not sure, they might not come anymore, its late." paul replied.

reny moves and switched seat with paul , being meg in the middle of john and paul.

she is now seated beside meg.

meg felt awkward but seemed reny is giving her a lighter mood.

thought that reny might just be always joking around.

her first impression was changed.

"lets drink more meg" reny said. while lighting a cigarrette.

"you smoke?" asked meg, shocked that reny is just 15

"yeah why? my father is a smoker, so i learned.." reny explained

drops the lighter in the table.

"do you mind?"

"no i dont, i also smoke, but not when aki is around.""he doesnt smoke so he doesnt want me to." said meg

"f*ck aki, ahahah dont mind him..here.." hands her over a cigarrette.

she sneaks while she lits on the cigarrete so aki would see.

"ill cover you, dont worry" reny said.

the band started playing as usual.

everybody was quiet while drinking as they watch them play.

they were chillin.

it was thursday night

and the songs that the band played was for a dance party night.

audience can dance on the dance floor whenever they want.

some of the guest started dancing.

reny was feeling the vibe and wanted to dance too.

she stood up and took megs hand

"lets go, lets dance! come on meg..lets go!" as she pulls meg towards the dance floor. "come on" pulls john and paul too, leaving meg on the dance floor standing feeling the music, swaying just a bit. waiting for them to stand up.

reny pushed john to meg so they can dance together.

john and meg smiled at each other, looking like they have no idea what to do.

they laughed at themselves. and started to dance through the beat.

reny danced with paul and bumped into megs shoulder making meg closer to john.

but paul went to john and meg, creating a circle with the 3 of them, reny joins. and they danced all night. they were enjoying the moment.

paul is a good dancer and showed his moves to everyone. reny gets close and tried to show up her moves as well.

she then pulls meg in the middle, like she was telling her that its her turn to show her moves.

meg used to be a choreographer in college so she wasnt shy to battle.

swayed her hips and twerked. did a sexy dance and stopped , pulling john towards the middle.

john just laughed when he was told to make some impressive moves too.

waving his hands, saying no.

the dance floor gets really crowded, getting meg and john really close to each other.

it was fun.

after the party song, band switched over to a love song.

paul sat down as he got tired, grabs a bottle of beer and drinks it.

reny pushed john towards meg and puts his arm on megs waist and puts megs arm on his shoulder, before he could even sit.

looks like meg didnt have any choice.

reny forced them to dance like lovers.

like they dont have a choice but do the sweet dance together.

they were both silent.

it feels awkward for meg.

cause she knows aki and his siblings are just around.

but she didnt mind, she was having fun.

john looks at her , smiling. "reny is really crazy" he said

"huh?"

john moves his head closer to megs ear "i said, reny is really crazy, isnt she?!" he whispered

meg laughed."she is, i didnt thought she can be cool like this." forgetting about her being mean. she was liking her. she even forgot what she really intended to do,

she already forgot to ask reny if she was with them last sunday

the two continued dancing.

aki got distracted seeing john and meg dancing, he was a bit out of tune.

his brother, the drummer looked at him, asking what is going on.

aki called his friend at the backstage to replace him for a while.

he went down the stage.

he goes directly to meg

pulls her out of the dance floor, while she and john were dancing.

he was looking mad.

john followed, but aki told him to stay at the table where paul and reny is seated.

they went straight outside the bar.

aki stopped, looking around makes it sure no one is there.

"what is that all about?" asked meg

aki kept silent

"hey, why did we get out? are you okay?" as she attempted to touch akis face.

aki moved his head away as she tried to touch him,

pushing her hand away. he was serious.

"you dont look okay, we were just dancing, why did you stop playing?" still wondering.

"you dont have any idea?" aki said strongly.

"i dont get it, we were just dancing, having fun.. enjoying your music. whats wrong?" curious meg

he calms down.

"nothing." then he walks away. going back inside the bar.

she followed, still no idea that aki was very jealous.

the band was still playing

"oh noooo.. looks like someone is jealous... " said reny to paul.

paul just laughed, but john was curious too, feeling a little guilty

that he danced with meg

aki sat down beside reny, pours beer on a glass and drinks it. straight.

"bro, are you ok? " john asked

he did not get an answer.

as if aki did not hear him.

pours another to his glass. and drinks it.

"waiter, one more bucket please" as he calls for another set of drinks

reny moved beside meg. "what happened?" curiously asked meg

meg was silent

"you know what meg, i think.. i need to go to the ladies room, can you come with me, i dont know where it might be." pulls meg up, knowing that she is not feeling alright. meg looks like she is about to cry. "hurry up, i need to pee." reny said.

she grabbed megs elbow and locks it on her arms walked towards the ladies room like they were close friends.

"are you okay? i think he was really jealous, he was drinking like crazy" pertaining to aki.

she was really concerned.

"i also dont know... he was really cold for days now.. he is not even texting me like he used to do. but he was so mad at me a while ago. look.." shows the red mark on her arms showing how tight it was when he grabbed her.

"oh no... thats bad. im sorry...my fault" reny feeling guilty of what happened.

meg started to cry "was not your fault, it was his." "he started to show me like i dont exist, so i thought it was fine to dance with john, he was just my friend, our friend. right?" confirming if it was considered cheating.

"whats he's right to get jealous, are you his girlfriend? he is even dating another girl..." "we were together last sunday, and he is with another girl...and she is nt even good looking, she was just really showing a lot of her skin " said reny, getting upset, confirming things with meg.

"what? ... so thats why he doesnt want me to come.. i get it.. i get it"

she wipes her tears, looks at the mirror... kept silent.

*sigh. deep breathes

reny pats her back, trying to make her feel better.

meg pulls out her lipstick inside her bag and puts it on her lips.

"lets go" said meg.

contained and puts her smile back.

"hope youre ok now.." said reny

meg nods and smiled

the band already finished their last set but the music still plays at the background

the two went back to the table as if nothing happened.

meg sat down beside reny. lits a cigarrete, didnt care that aki is just infront of her. still drinking.

the rest continued to drink too, but they have their own conversations with each other, paul , reny and meg , then john and aki.

the band started packing, but aki was already dizzy to help.

he can't even drive.

meg is still concerned at aki, she gave him cold water before they go. pats on his back. making him calmer.

"looks like my little brother drank too much, cant even stand huh.." said his brother then laughed. took the key from aki and carried his back pack. walked towards the exit.

"im sleeping at akis place with his brother, maybe you could spend your night there too, till aki can drive you home." "i'll just be there dont worry" said reny to meg. concerned like a best friend.

john and paul waved goodbye and went ahead.

his brother started the car and reny was at the front seat,

aki and meg seated together at the back.

aki then puts his head on megs shoulder.

he was unwell.

then they went home.

she gained new friends but

felt like she was losing another

meg was feeling in between hate and love.

she still has strong feelings for him

but why did he lie.

why did he not tell her the truth

why is he not being honest.

these questions keep on striking her head

why....
