Chapter Four

“How dare he talk to me like that?! And even punched me two times in a row? Is that how he raised his son?! ” Edward agitatedly muttered.

He can't stop thinking about what just happened to him the other day. Edward can't believe how Luther acted. It made him mad. He was being treated like a stranger and just did what he wanted to do to him, and he did.

“Calm down honey, it's your nephew, maybe he just has a lot in mind. Which is why he did that to you? You know, we can all be irrational sometimes.” Edwards' wife said to calm him down.

“No, no words can explain his actions, and perhaps he is at his right age already, yet he is acting like a teenager!” Edward hissed in frustration.

“Stop it hon, you're just wasting your energy with that nonsense. Just think about the businesses that Leon left. You're his brother, you have the right to handle everything since you both are Walt.”

Edwards' wife Emily is a hypocrite, thick-faced woman, selfish and who acts shamelessly. She looks soft and kind, but she has a lot in her pocket. That made her perfectly matched with Edward; they both had the same characteristics.

Edward seemed to get what his wife said, he drank up his wine and uttered, “You're right, I can't just let Luther treat me like this. I'll make sure to take over the company and the other business that Leon left. His son can't just have it all. He knows nothing." He firmly said, as if he would succeed with his plans.

“Richard, go with your father later at your Tito's wake. Make sure to avoid him with Luther. They are both not on good terms, you know.” Richards' mom said while reading a newspaper.

“Aren't you going to come?” Richard asked.

“Yes, I have an early appointment tomorrow, maybe the next day or after my appointment.”

“Okay mom.” he muttered with a bored face.

“Your Tito is in the newspaper already, he surely is a famous business person.” She bitterly whispered. Richard heard her but he didn't care less.

“And oh by the way honey, be gentle to Luther, maybe he can give you the spot since he knows nothing about his dad's business. You can be a perfect fit to become Walt's heir,” his mother proudly said, and sipped her coffee.

Richards' mother probably doesn't know about what he did to Luther. No one saw them fighting, so maybe it's a good thing. Richard just shrugged at his mother's point. He knows he can't disagree with what his mother said. What she will always say should be followed. Richard can't dare to disobey her, he is too scared of what his mother could do.

Meanwhile, in front of the tall building where the press conference will be held. The press conference will talk about Luther's dad and its assets. Luther will be the representative to answer all the reporter's questions for him since his mother couldn't do it. David managed to reschedule the conference since this was supposed to be after the operation but then his father didn't make it.

Today is the day Luther is getting ready to go to the location David texted him. He doesn't know why it needed to be like this.

Why do they need to do a press-conference? When, in fact, it was already plastered in the newspaper about what happened to his dad.

It was even flashed on the television news. Why still hold a conference?

This was requested and Luther couldn't do anything about it since a lot of reporters were waiting for his response. And basically he agreed and couldn't care less.

In his car, he calls David from his phone. After two calls, David answered. “Are there a lot of reporters? Is it too crowded?”

“No, I did what you've asked me to do. I just choose ten sensible reporters and the rest are the news writers.”

“Good, I'm coming. Are there any reporters outside the building?”

“Yes, those I didn't choose were told not to stay there, but they're just too hard-headed. They will do what they want until they can get at least one of your statements.” David groaned as he said this to Luther.

This is why Luther hates having a press conference, because even though there are enough reporters that are needed, others will still go through, just to get a hold of you.

“So better use the back door to avoid them. Is your mom coming with you?”

“No, she's too soft for this conference, she will just definitely cry,” Luther uttered with concern.

While inside his car, Luther notices the people outside the building where the press conference will be held. There are a lot of reporters waiting for him. He then thought that ‘My dad's really famous, huh, they will probably do what they want. Despite the hot weather.’

But he can't just let them do what they want. They should know that there are times that you need to give up and just let things be. Although some people don't stop there, there are those who are eager to climb despite the possibilities.

Luther drove his car to the back of the building, he notified David that he was now there. He parked his car and was about to go out when his phone rang.

“Wait for me inside your car. Don't just come out. There are other reporters here in the hallway, you can't easily get inside. I'm coming with some bodyguards.”

Luther waited in his car until he saw David walking fast towards him with 6 people with him, followed by other reporters. ‘They really are eager to get some of my words’, Luther states in his mind.

He came out when David reached him. The bodyguards immediately positioned themselves for the reporters to not be able to go near him.

“They are too eager to talk to you. Some of them even got here early in the morning, just to get some of your statements,” David whispered with amazement in his eyes.

“I'll let them after this. I'll give them the chance.”

Flashing of cameras and hearing some questions are all Luther can hear. He just ignored all those flying questions until they reached the room full of reporters and writers.

At first, he thought that his uncle would come too. But then he was the only one answering all of their questions with David at his side. The host started the q&a and will also be the one to choose the person who asked first.

“Are you now representing yourself as the heir of the Walt'ers Technology Innovation Incorporation?”
