ChapterTwo

1324 Words
Luther's mom fell down crying after what the doctor told them. All you could hear around the corners of the emergency room hospital was the weeping and sobbing of the mother and son. The pain gulped him as his father died. The pain that actually tore Luther apart, the first pain he felt and the first cry he didn't imagine hurt him so much. Losing his father never came into his mind. He never imagined his father going to leave like this. As he knows that his father is as strong as stone and benevolent, he doesn't have any rivals. He even negotiates well when it comes to businesses to avoid nemesis or competitors. But despite being kind-hearted, you will really never predict what will happen to a specific individual. This situation says that even if it’s intentional or not, things happen for a reason. Life can't predict life, death can't predict death. It all happens at once and no more than. Luther helped his mother stand up, he held her tight since she lost all her energy crying. Luther wiped his tears with his left hand. He then got his phone and called David to arrange everything. “C-can you do me a f-favor?” he uttered sadly on the phone. David nods even if Luther can't see him. He now knows what happened, his master is gone. The one that trusted him a lot didn't survive. He wipes his tears as Luther tells him everything that he needs to do. “Settle my dad in a nice and warm place full of flowers and then c-can you contact all of our relatives? Let them know about dad. And I know sooner or later the news will flash about his sudden death. P-please can you take care of that too. We can't do interviews right away. Mom and I need to mourn first, I don't want that to bother us. Thank you David.” As Luther tells all those words to David, tears keep falling from his eyes. The pain he and his mom is enduring made them both weak. Luther drove his mom to their house to let her rest. While Luther visits his dad's company and talks to his dad's secretary about all the things that his dad's left undone and postponed all the meetings. As he was checking all the papers that the secretary handed to him, the door of his dad's office slammed, and his uncle Edward showed up. “What happened to Leon? Why did he die?! What about companies? What about all the businesses he left?!” his uncle Edward hysterically muttered. Leon’s ears perked up from what he had just heard from his uncle. The fact that he didn't bother asking what the cause of death was. And just directly asking about the businesses and such. This made him slam the table in front of him and look at him with anger in his eyes. “Is this all you cared for? And not my father's death. Who is your brother?” his uncle got silent. “He died and yet all you spit out is about business?! Unbelievable! Are you even his brother?” Luther seriously muttered in front of him. “What are you talking about? I am just worried about our businesses and this company since his death was sudden. There are a lot of projects and meetings that need to be done. We can't just let it slide! That would be a huge amount of money to lose!” Luther ran towards him and punched him in the face. “You're bullshit! All you think is money! You never really cared about dad, huh?” He wants to punch him for the second time when Richard comes and stops him. Richard is his cousin, his uncle Edward's son. If it wasn't for Richard, his uncle would have a lot of bruises by then. He clenched his jaw. “Our business, huh? How funny, this is all my dad's hard work. I never saw you work hard for it. So, don't you dare talk and spit out the words “OUR BUSINESS” in front of me!” Luther said and smirked. “Get these two out of my office now!” “What the hell, Luther?!” Richard uttered unbelievably and looked at him. “How dare you!” his uncle shouted with disgrace. **** On the other hand, David did all the things that Luther had asked him to do. He settles down Mr. Walt in a nice hall with lots of different white flowers around him, Mr. Walt is now at peace. The wake will start tomorrow in the evening and David has already hired some people for cleaning and other stuff. Hence, Mrs. Megan Elyse Walt, Luther's mother, is mourning in their room, looking at all their pictures and things that reminded her of Mr. Leon Walt. Mrs. Walt can't stop crying and still can't accept what just happened. Everything was so fast and unbelievable. Yesterday was fine, she even saw her spouse's smiling face as he got out of his office, and now she will no longer be able to see those smiles again. And because of that thought, Mrs. Walt cried hard while hugging their picture together. While looking at the four corners of his father's office, Luther can't stop but to get emotional. He remembers what his father told him of how he was able to run their businesses successfully and even build and open more. He remembers his father's voice echoing in his mind about how important his training he provided for him. Even though his father never tells him the reasons. The door opens and his father's secretary shows up and tells him that his uncle is causing a scandal outside by calling him to come out. “Tell him to stop what he's doing before the cops stop him,” Luther said and never even looked at the secretary. After he finished checking all the papers his father left, he made sure he didn't leave any papers undone. Then he goes to the bathroom and wash his face, then goes out to the office to go straight to the hall where his father is at peace. David texted him that his mother is already there with swollen eyes. While he was walking down the hallway, Richard saw him and ran towards him. It was like he was waiting for him after what happened earlier. “Hey, I'm sorry about my father's behavior awhile ago.” he uttered, but Luther just continued to walk to where his car was parked. “He probably got shocked because of Tito's sudden death. You know he sometimes doesn't think twice before talking. It was unintentionally serious, he just didn't want the company to go down.” he continued. “Not now Richard, everything is fresh. Let me mourn my father's death first please? Can you do that? Tell that to your father too.” Luther muttered with tired eyes. He didn't wait for his answer and got inside his car and drove away. Richard got irritated and cursed him in the air. He just pretended to and told those words to Luther to get his trust, like how Luther's father got his. But then Richard found out that Luther was not like his father. He can be a bit nasty, as he could just like what he did to his uncle Edward. It was his first time to see Luther get angry. Because Luther studied in the state and merely came back here to his homeland. So, he doesn't know him fully, and they're not that close even to his uncle. On the way to the gardens' hall, Luther receives a call from David. “Where are you Luther? Your uncle is here shouting and messing up all the flowers around your father's casket, he's uncontrollable.”
