Longing

1000 Words
Unfortunately, the pain didn’t subside during the night. As soon as his eyes were opened it came right back full force. He decided to just go on with his daily routine. He was taking college classes at the local college and he decided he would go to class and try to get his mind on something else instead, even if it was just temporary. He went through his usual day of classes and headed back home. When he got there his mother greeted him and told him to clean up dinner would be done soon. He knew that they all felt bad for him. He didn’t want them to pity him, but he appreciated that they sympathized with him. He had thought about moving out right after it all had happened but decided against it because working enough hours to maintain a house and all the bills would be difficult while going to college and taking several credits over full time. He had gotten the deans approval to take as many as he did. He knew he had to keep his grades up or he wouldn’t be allowed to do it again. It was hard given everything he was going through but at least it provided a distraction. He couldn’t help but wonder what Ansley was doing and anytime that his mind would drift that was all he would think about. He hoped the pain would subside eventually. Until then he would just try to keep on following routine and take it a day at a time, and try not to look ahead to much, it was to painful.                   He stayed with his one day at a time approach and before he knew it another month had passed. He hadn’t been to a pack meeting since when he had seen Ansley. He figured there was no point. His parents had encouraged him to go but he never did. They told him they were worried about him. He didn’t want them to worry but he also didn’t want to face the pack or Ansley again right now after all that had happened. And he definitely didn’t want to see Garret. He was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to restrain himself this time. He had a lot of time to think about it all and felt a deep distain for Garret. He had heard that many of the pack members had lost a lot of respect for Garret for standing in the way of a mated pair. Trent even seemed to be irritated by it, even thought he hadn’t really said much about it. He did seem to react in a way that made everyone think he was irritated. Tye didn’t know whether to really believe it thought. After all, Trent and Garret had been friends prior to all of it. And Trent had never really had his back ever before or taken his side any time that he could remember. It was possible that Trent was just putting on a show for their parents.                 Tye had decided to hang out with some of his friends that weekend. That was something that he really hadn’t done since everything with Ansley. He hadn’t felt up to it, but they had practically begged, and they also said they had something they needed to talk to him about. So, he went. He figured that he would just go for long enough to say he went and then dip out and head back to do some more self- loathing and maybe throw a pity party for himself or two. But once he got there, he was actually having a good time for the first time in what felt like forever and it seemed good. He was there for several hours and lost track of time. Once he realized what time it was, he said he would need to get going but he would meet up again before log, and he actually meant it, which came as surprise even to him. He hadn’t taken part in anything or done anything fun in a while and he had almost forgotten what it felt like. He was glad for the refresher. He started walking back to his car feeling a little more like himself. Just before he reached him car his friend, Matt ran up to him and said “ hey man, I was wondering if I could talk to for a few minutes before you bounce?” Tye said he would because after all Matt was his friend and if he needed to talk to him that was the least he could do was hear him out. What harm could it do, right? But what came out of Matt’s mouth was not what Tye had expected. He told Matt that he wasn’t sure if he should tell him at first, or even if he would want to know, but he had heard rumors that Garret was cheating on Ansley, but she was unaware, and as far as he knew it had been going on for a while. Tye wasn’t sure what to think about it all at first. But he thanks Matt and decided that he was glad he told him, but he wasn’t sure what to do about it. He had no way to contact Ansley and even if he did would she even believe him? She may think it was an act of desperation, even if it wasn’t. He decided he would have to wait it out. As much as he hated it, he didn’t know what else to do. He hoped Ansley wouldn’t be hurt to bad by it all. He hated Garret for it but no mater the reason behind it all he didn’t want Ansley to be hurt.
