An encounter

715 Words
At the hospital, Ella had already regained consciousness. My mom went to meet the doctor, so I went alone to see Ella. "Ella, what happened to you? How are you feeling now?" I wanted to make sure she was okay before I proceeded with my main question. "I'm fine now. Someone had attacked me on my way to your house." She said while massaging her head. "I'm so sorry about that. Do you mean in front of my house?" Emma had found her in front of my house, I wanted to have the precise location. "I had not arrived at your house. I had just left my house." I didn't want to ask her a lot of questions because she needed rest, and I was not an officer. "Okay, do you know this person?" "No, her face was covered." It was definitely Mia. It was a girl. "You know that this person is a girl? Can you remember anything at all, maybe her physique or perfume scent? "I just know she's slim. Why are you questioning me? Do you know who attacked me?" She asked feebly. No one now, but I will find that person and make sure that she's arrested." I held her hand and spoke assuredly. "I will make sure she's punished for her crime." "I appreciate that, but it is not your duty. My parents will report it to police officers. Speaking of my parents, do they know what happened?" She said. "Haven't you given the doctor their contact number? My mom is with the doctor and she will be here soon. When she comes, give her your mom's contact number so she will let your mom know that you are in a hospital." "OK, you are a good friend." We are friends now. That's amazing, I thought. "Good to hear that we are friends. Let me call my mom." I left to inform my mom and the doctor that Ella was awake. We went back to Ella. My mom was relieved to see that she was okay. She dialled the number that Ella gave her. When her mom answered the call and heard what happened to her daughter and where she was, she arrived at the hospital in less than 20 minutes. She filed a case immediately. Ella gave her statement. The police officers interrogated me because Ella was found in front of my house. They also told me to take them to Emma's house. Ella's mom appreciated my mom for taking care of her daughter. She was only angry with Ella for being overindulgent, which made her prone to attack. It was nice meeting Ella's mom. She was just like Ella, funny, nice and gentle. Before Ella left, I told her to give me her address so that I could visit her, which she did. When I got back to my house, I went straight to my room. I couldn't stop thinking of what way I could expose Mia. I wanted it to be Mia, I was certain of that because I was engrossed in the idea that it could only be her. I didn't know why I felt that it could only be her. It could be because I didn't want the best for Mia because if I did, I would find evidence to prove her innocent. What if she wasn't the one. I only convinced myself that she was the one who attacked Ella. I decided to go to the scene where Ella was attacked. I took my torch and left my house. I had taken Ella's address to go there. It was evening, and there was a soothing silence. I walked down the road leading to Ella's house. I made sure not to be near Ella's house so she wouldn't see me. I stopped where I felt was the right place to start looking for clues. I looked carefully and meticulously, but I didn't find any clue. "The police officers might have been here first." I sighed and headed back to my house, and then I realised that I had to look for clues in my house, too. I searched every nook and cranny, but I didn't find anything. When I was about to enter my house, I found a piece of broken glass on the doorway.
