Won't settle on its own

I saw Jessie speaking with Zoe. I stood at a corner looking at them till they noticed me. "You guys are really getting along these days," I said suspiciously. "We have always been friends," Jessie added harshly. "Alright," I was embarrassed by the way Jessie spoke to me, so I decided not to speak to her again. I went to my class to prep for my first lesson. I prepped with my head on my desk. Below my desk, I observed a leg, and then I heard my name. I looked up and saw Jessie. "Hey, I'm sorry for what happened outside. I'm just really stressed out." She said. I looked at her for a while for no reason. "I hear you, it's fine." She had apologised, but I had to practice restraint to avoid insults. "I know you are still angry with me. I wanted to spend the day on my own, but Zoe managed to talk me out of it. Then you came to annoy me, not to be rude, but I'm just being honest," She said. I nodded. She sat down with me. "Since my mom died, you have been the only real friend I have had. You might not know it, but it's true," She said with a hint of a smile. "Are you okay, Jessie?" Why didn't you tell me that you wouldn't be able to see me after school the day before today?" I said. "I didn't plan it. It just happened." She said hesitantly. "Alright." She clearly had something to say but was reluctant to say it. I decided not to ask further questions. She left after my response because I showed no interest in speaking to her. "Weirdo," I said after she had left. Shortly afterwards, Pascal came to my class. "Hey, Ella told me that you wanted to go in search of a friend," He said. "Yes, I did, but she has been found." If Pascal likes Ella, why is he trying to become my close friend, I thought. It might be because Ella is a close friend of mine. He's giving mixed signals. "Okay." He sounded disappointed. Subsequently, Ella and Rose entered. "Rose, what's up?" I said. "I'm fine, how about you?" She added. "I'm okay." Rose and I were becoming close friends because she was more bold and social than Ella and I. She was like the middleman in the friendship. Even though I didn't like that, she was trying to become Ella's best friend. They eventually left my class. I slept off, but the noise in the background woke me up. Some students were fighting. I watched the fight excitedly. I watched fights like a movie. The fight ended when a teacher came into the class. My friend Charles was involved in the fight, and they were all taken to the principal's office. At dismissal, I went to meet Charles to find out why he was involved in a fight. "Hey, Charles, what happened at the principal's office?" I enquired. "Nothing much, we were disciplined," He said. "What happened?" I enquired. "You declined my request to be my girlfriend. That's what happened," He said. "You're joking, right?" I said. "Of course. But please be my girlfriend. You won't regret it," He said. Charles was the most assertive person I had ever encountered. I was only his friend because I got along well with extroverted people. But I did my best to stay away from him, yet he kept coming towards me. I smiled at him. I was probably the one giving him mixed signals. "Will you?" He said and moved closer to me. I immediately pulled back. "You were joking, right? Let's be serious now," I said. "And sensible too," I murmured. "Okay, anything for you. But what happened is none of your business," He said and walked away. Charles was such a p*****t.
