“Cecily.” The voice was kind, but one that I didn’t recognize. “Cecily, wake up.” It was a bit more forceful the second time around.
I opened my eyes so see that I was not in my room, nor was I in April’s room. I sat up to see who else was in here, but looking around, there was no one there. Maybe it was through an intercom, but I didn’t see a speaker on a wall anywhere.
Great. Now I’m hearing things. Was I at Liam’s house? I went over to the double windows to see if I could tell. Just below me was the same little garden I had gone to when I needed a breather from the talk with his dad. I was definitely at Liam’s.
On the end of the bed was a fresh set of clothes that were incredibly inviting. The other door in the room was open where I could see a bathroom and I felt the desperate need to head for the shower.
The hot water poured over my body, releasing its steam and relaxing me. Then, my mind snapped to last night and what that man was trying to do to me. Flashes of the events replaying over in my head. I could still feel his hands on me, him keeping me pushed down, his breath as he had spoken in my ear.
I instantly felt dirty again. I grabbed the soap and began scrubbing my body forcefully with the loofah. No longer feeling the pain of rubbing my skin raw, I didn’t care. All I knew was that I never wanted to feel that way again. I couldn’t get his feeling off of me, I couldn’t make myself feel clean and I was beginning to lose my mind.
“Cecily, stop!” The same voice that I woke up to was back. I looked out of the glass shower, but no one was there.
“Who’s there?” I called out. I looked all around the bathroom, thinking that maybe I would see someone standing in the room.
“You have to stop scrubbing. You’re going to cause yourself to start bleeding.” I turned from side to side. Looking all over the bathroom again for anyone or a source of the voice. What happened last night must be making me hear voices.
“You won’t be able to see me. Well, not yet anyway.” The voice was again sounding caring.
“Who are you?” I asked, quickly turning off the shower and wrapping up in a towel. I wasn’t willing to let anyone see me naked at the moment.
“My name is Isla, I’m your wolf.”
“My WHAT?!” I practically screamed in the bathroom. My wolf? I have a wolf? Does this mean that I’m . . .
“Yes Cecily, you’re a werewolf. I have been waiting for you to turn 18 so I could finally talk to you. Happy birthday by the way.” I was completely taken back. I quickly got dressed in the given clothes, put some light makeup on my face and put loose curls in my hair. I needed to talk to Liam.
Liam and I had talked about werewolves a little bit here and there, mainly about his wolf, Magnus, but we never talked about the possibility that I would have a wolf. There was a light knock on the door.
“Cecily, can I come in?” Liam’s voice sounds even more enchanting.
“Come in.” I almost sounded desperate to get him to come through the door. His scent of balsam fir and snow was even more powerful than before.
“Happy birthday.” He said walking into the room. My eyes immediately went to his muscles tight against his shirt. I could see every ripple of his abs underneath it. His hair, freshly washed, was pushed back from his face, showing off his spellbinding emerald green eyes. I was practically drooling as I stared at him.
“Mate, Mate, Mate!” Isla sounded like she was going crazy in my head. My hands instinctively reached for either side of my head before sitting back on the bed. Liam swiftly closed the door behind him and was kneeling in front of me in seconds.
“Are you ok? What’s wrong?” His asked, resting his hands on either side of my waist. I was cautious of him touching me for a second, but I felt nothing but care from Liam. I knew in my heart he would never make me do anything that I didn’t want to do.
He tugged me in closer to him, making my legs go to either side of him. I wanted to be closer to him, to feel his touch. He could always put me at ease with just the slightest touch. I let my hands fall to his cheeks to reassure him that I was truly fine, only to be surprised at the intensity of the sparks moving between our touch.
“I got my wolf this morning. She is going crazy in my head saying ‘Mate’ over and over again. I don’t know what she means.” Liam threw his head back with laughter and gave me the biggest smile.
“Finally.” Was all he said before crashing his lips into mine. I moved my lips in motion with his, letting a moan escape my chest. He worked his tongue along my lips, almost asking for permission to enter. I enjoyed the feeling of his tongue tangling up with mine.
Another moan pushed past my lips. I was completely lost in this feeling with him. He got to his feet, never breaking our kiss, and guided me to lay back on the bed. This time it was his moan that broke through. He pressed his body up against mine. I pulled back to catch my breath to see pure desire in his eyes.
“As much as I’m loving kissing you, this doesn’t explain what Isla means by ‘Mate’.” I could feel that Isla was mad at me for breaking off the make out session.
“Each werewolf is given a mate,” Liam rolled over to the side of me on the bed. “that one perfect person they’re meant to be with, their soulmate. You are my mate. I knew the second I saw you on the track that you were my mate, I just couldn’t say anything until you turned 18 and felt the mate bond for yourself.” Soulmates? Liam and I were destined to be together?
He pause for a minute, I guess waiting to see what my reaction would be to this news.
“Are you disappointed?” I needed to know. “I know you were with Rachel. I’m sure you wanted her to be your mate.”
“No,” he didn’t even hesitate. “You are exactly what I want in every way possible. I cannot imagine my life without you, Cecily.” A smile came to my face, I knew he was being completely honest with me and if I was honest, I couldn’t imagine my life without him.
We went right back into making out for another good ten or fifteen minutes before Liam pulled back and dropped his head onto my shoulder.
“I would love to stay here and do this for the whole day,” he chuckled at my cheeks starting to turn pink. “but my mother is down stairs begging for me to bring you down so she can meet you.” I tensed underneath him. I wasn’t sure how I felt about meeting his mom. I know I already met his dad, but meeting his mom makes it feel so serious. I guess when you’re someone’s soulmate things naturally are more serious.
I got up from the bed and straightened out my clothes so I didn’t look all disheveled. The last thing I wanted her first impression of me was to be that I was a hussy.
“Do you think she’ll like me?” I asked as his eyes travelled up and down my body.
“She’s going to love you. I know I do.” I giggled as he grabbed ahold of my hips pulling me back down on top of him. Did Liam just say he loves me?
