Chapter Five, My Queen,

**Alpha Logan's POV**

"Can you all stay with me, please?" said my mate.

"Of course we can," I told her as I pulled her to the bed, putting her in the middle of Leo and me.

I turned my mate to face me. "How does it feel that you're now part of the pack and you're also the Luna? We will need to throw you a party where all pack members can come and meet their new Luna."

I watched as my mate tensed. I was also confused as to why she sleeps with the lights on, and her lamp was on double the light.

"I know she's lying to us about something, and we need to find out what," I said to my brothers through our joined mind link.

"She's clearly scared of the dark, and did you see her eyes when Leo pulled the knife out?" replied Asher.

"Yes, I did. That chain and bracelet are suppressing her power, and I believe we should find out why. We have the pack to protect, and I feel the power coming off her," stated Leo as he cut the link off.

"My love, go back to sleep. You're not alone; we are here with you," Leo said to my mate as he pecked her forehead.

I felt my mate relax; hearing her snore, I knew she was back asleep, so I turned the lights off. I have to say, I hate the lights on; I can't sleep; I need my darkness.

Letting my mind go back to today's events—watching my mate do magic and hearing how Alpha Shane is a cheat who likes using explosives—has my blood boiling, and soon I will return the favour. I know they are the reason Zoe is so closed off; she doesn't want to tell us anything. It's like she doesn't trust us.

I didn't realise the time until I felt the sunshine shine on me and a mind link coming in.

"Alphas, we've had a breach at the south border," said Beta Nathan through the mind link.

"We are on our way," I replied as I cut the link off.

I lifted my head up and saw Leo and Asher sitting up.

"You look like s**t, bro," said Asher through the mind link.

"Thanks, bro. Couldn't sleep."

Creeping out of bed and covering Zoe with the quilt, I opened the bedroom door and headed to our rooms to freshen up. I didn't get to sleep; my mind was replaying yesterday's events.

Opening my bedroom door as Asher and Leo disappeared, I closed the door behind me and headed straight for a nice, cold shower.

Getting out of the shower, I was wet and took the towel off the rack, wrapping it around me as I headed to my wardrobe. I took my clean shorts, leaving my top off since it was a hot day.

Leaving my room and heading to my office, my brothers were already there with Beta Nathan and Gamma Sean.

"Glad you finally joined us," said Beta Nathan.

"I wasn't that long; don't be so dramatic. Do remember I've not slept. I'm struggling; my wolf thinks that our mate is hiding things from us." It felt good being able to talk without Zoe.

"My wolf told me she's holding a lot of power and she can't control it. Let's talk about this later. Beta Nathan, what do you have for us?" said Leo.

"We've got three teams of warriors surrounding the Crescent Moon safehouse on the north side. We believe a delivery is on hand."

"Delivery attack! Take everything and destroy them all; no one is to survive. We also need to sort out the plan for taking over Crescent Moon. We've got Alpha Tom coming for a meeting. I want double border control; our delivery will arrive at noon tomorrow. I want you there, Beta."

"Yes, Alpha," replied Beta Nathan.

Knock, knock.

"Come in, my love. You don't need to knock; this is your office as well," Leo said as he walked over to Zoe, pulling her along with him.

"Come, my love. How do you feel?"

"I'm okay, but I would like to talk to you all," said Zoe. I noticed she was nervous.

"Tell us, my love," I said as I walked over to her, pulling her into my arms.

"I was hoping to join an online history course."

"Of course you can; we won't stop you from doing anything, but do remember you are ours," said Leo.

I was just about to tell my love she could do what she likes when I received a mind link from Darren, who's on border control.

"Alpha, there's been a breach at the east side, but no one is around apart from a note written in blood pinned to a tree with a silver knife."

"What did the note say?" I sneered through the link.

"We will keep coming until we get what we want. She's not yours; she's mine. Don't make me ask twice. I will kill everyone and everything in your pack. Alpha, I believe they are talking about Luna Zoe. It's also signed by Alpha Rich," replied Darren.

"They will pay for this," I stated as I cut the link off. Turning to look at my brothers, they were just as fuming. I looked towards my mate; I didn't want to get her involved, but I didn't have a choice. I needed some information.

"Zoe, my love, we must tell you something. There was a breach at our border and a note written in blood pinned to a tree, demanding you. It's also signed by your father, Alpha Rich."

I looked over to Asher and could see he was mind-linking.

"They won't stop; they will keep coming. It's better if I go. I don't want anyone getting hurt because of me," said my mate as tears swelled in her eyes.

"We won't let him. He's not getting near you; we will end him. But we do need your help. As you know, we don't like your father or your family. In fact, your father and brother killed our parents," I said as I tried to keep my temper in check.

"I don't know much. You forgot I was always in the dungeon, and I was only allowed out to cook, clean, and go to school. What I do know is that deliveries are always at the east side border. There's a safe house, but it leads into an underground bunker; it's also soundproof. Shane and my father keep the most important weapons and drugs, along with his money, but it's heavily guarded. There are also warriors stationed around the outside house every ten minutes, always different people, never the same. Deliveries are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 4 PM, 8 PM, and midnight. He's also got safe houses in the north and west, but no one knows. He's always said there are many places to go, and revenge will follow,"

"That's good to know, my love. I didn't want to get you involved, but we need to act. How did the pack members treat you?" I asked, as I needed to know before we took over and merged our packs together.

"They weren't very nice. John was my only friend; he didn't care that I was or looked different."

"What makes you think you're different from us? Also, my love, why do you suppress your powers?" I asked, hoping she would be honest with us.

I watched as Zoe's eyes watered. I knew from there I wasn't going to like her story.

"I was cleaning the garden when John came over with a ball. As he kicked it to me, I kicked it back, but it went wide, hitting my sister Mel in the face. She battered me, but she didn't stop there—punch after punch. After a few more blows, I couldn't feel the pain, only anger around me. A dark light came from my hands, making her fly into the air, smashing her head against the ceiling, killing her instantly. My father jumped up, grabbing me, saying I'm a monster and I will be punished. My mum tried to stop it, but that just made things worse. As he threw me into the dungeon, I heard him beat her. Shane joined in, and Sarah and Jane were laughing. I couldn't do anything as I was locked in the dungeon. About an hour later, my mother came to visit. I knew something was wrong; she had tears, and her face was a mess.

I just didn't think he would kill his own mate. I never got to see her again, and the last thing she said and did for me was a chain and bracelet. She said, "Never take these off. You're a very special person, and you are who you are. Nobody can change that. When you're older, you will understand. Embrace what you are and who you are. I love you with my whole heart. You're my favourite, and you always will be. Don't let anyone tell you any different. I'm sorry you were always bullied by your sibling, and when you get free, run and don't look back."

"Zoe, you couldn't help your mum, and you can't blame yourself. You are special, and we are glad to be fated to you. But I must ask, do you know what you are?" asked Leo. I could see he had a serious face on.

"I don't. All I know is I'm special; I have powers and a wolf, and that's why my hair is different. My father tried to dye my hair once, but for some odd reason, the dye didn't hold, and my orange and pink hair came back."

"You're a hybrid. We just don't know what sort. I'm betting you're half witch and half wolf."

"We can help you with your powers; you can train yourself to wield them properly," I said to my darling mate. She needs to know she's not on her own.

"I would like that, but I don't want anyone to know. None of you know how the pack members will treat me. I don't want to go to college and be on my own,"

"We won't tell anyone, my love. This will stay between us. Now let's go to our chambers; we can have some time together," I said as I stood from my chair.

Letting everything my mate said make my blood boil, I will be sure to make Alpha Rich and his brat suffer for what they have done.

The important thing is my mate knows she's not alone.

"I need to pop to the borders; I will be back soon," said Leo as he gave Zoe a peck before leaving with Beta Nathan.
