Chapter Four, My World,

1637 Words
Zoe's POV, Putting the fire out and helping to heal the only survivor, called Edward, was unexpected. I didn't want to use my power, as I didn't know how my mates would take it, knowing that I'm stronger than they are. The knowledge that I hold great power had me running scared inside. I watched how they were watching me after I picked up my chain off the floor, putting it back on around my neck to keep me in check. "Who would do this?" I asked. "Your father," said Leo. I knew my father was a nasty piece of work, but I didn't think he could go to such extreme lengths all to get me back. My father hated me, and I wondered why he wanted me back. Was it because of my power? Did he know one day I would be back to end him and Shane? "Your father has hated our pack for years. Believe it or not, both our fathers used to be quite close, but one day there was an attack on the Crescent Moon pack, and your father blamed our father. Our father swore that he had nothing to do with it and that they were good friends, but Alpha Rich didn't listen. After two years, he arranged an army and attacked our pack, killing our father and mother. We had to send our sister into hiding as we couldn't risk him finding her. Your father wanted blood and everyone to bow at his feet, but we didn't agree to his conditions," said Leo. The anger in me started boiling. I remember the attack, and I was blamed. My father beat me that night; he locked me up for weeks with only water and no food. But thanks to John, he would always come when the guards were changing over. "I remember the attack, but I can't remember your father. I'm sorry for what he took from you, but soon my father and brother will be dead by my hands. Their fate will be with us; they will beg us to end them. Shane was the one who was good at making the bombs; he's an expert, that much I do know. This was Shane." The anger in me was starting to boil; my neck was starting to burn, and my power was wanting to be exposed. All of a sudden, I was surrounded by all three of my mates, inhaling their scents and letting them calm my nerves. "Let's get you home, my love. You look tired." Beep, beep. "It's my phone! I forgot I had one for a minute there." "Who is it, my love?" Leo asked. I was about to answer him when a phone started ringing. Ring, ring, ring. "Go on," said Leo as he answered the phone, putting it on loudspeaker. "Alpha Leo, just the man! You have something belonging to me, and I want her back. She doesn't come for free," said my father, sending a shiver down my spine. "We won't stop, Alphas! We will get her back. Is she worth the trouble you're gonna get?" shouted Shane in the back. "She's not coming back, and Alpha Rich, watch it! I will get you. I have monsters in every corner, in every pack, in every widow. Watch your tongue; we will come for you!" stated Leo as he hung up the phone. "There's a reason he wants me back. The man hates my guts; something's wrong. I have a bad feeling," I told them the truth. John always told me to follow my gut. Am I alright? I was never wrong about my feelings. Looking at my phone again, I see it's John. "It's John, seeing if I'm alright. I wish he could have come." "My love, I understand he's just a friend, but our wolves don't like any men near you. You're mine, and my brothers and John will only get in the way," said Logan. "He doesn't see you as just a best friend; he's in love with you, and that's why he wanted you to reject us, so he can have you for himself." "You are wrong; he's a brother to me. He was the only one who saved and cared for me," I said as I shut up because my anger was starting to flare up again. Once again, we pulled up at the pack house. Getting out of the car, it was late outside. "We will show you to your room on our floor." Walking through the pack house, I was amazed. The gold and silver decorations were just stunning; it felt like home. I had a purpose. Making our way to the alpha chambers, I was so nervous; I was used to sleeping in a dungeon, John sneaking in and staying with me all night. As my mates opened the door to their floor, taking me to the room that will be mine, Leo said, "My room is on the left, Logan's on the right, and Asher's is that one," pointing to the door straight across from mine. I nodded my head as I walked around my new room. I felt happy and safe; I was safe. I felt at peace. All my life, my siblings bullied me and showed me up every chance they got. Sitting on my new king-size bed, staring at the ceiling as the darkness outside spreads, I'm left on my own. Taking my phone out, I messaged John: 'I'm safe and I'm happy, but I do wish you were here with me. How are you feeling?' Putting my phone down on my bedside cabinet, I didn't turn the light off as I was scared. I also turned on the lamp that was sitting on the cabinet, sparkling. As I lay on the bed, I didn't get under the bedding; I just lay on my side, trying to close my eyes, but I couldn't. I could hear the trees blowing as the rain started, and I could hear the warriors laughing in the distance. As I closed my eyes, trying to sleep and tossing and turning, my mind went into spiral mode. "Zoe, Zoe, wake up! Open your eyes, my love," I heard Logan say. Quickly opening my eyes and panting, I asked in a panicked voice, "What's going on?" Looking around, I felt something wet on my chest. "You were screaming and shouting; your chain was glowing," said Leo as he sat next to me. "From the looks of it, everyone in the pack house and the warriors heard you. What did you dream about?" asked Logan. "I remember listening to the birds and hearing the warriors, then I went into darkness," I replied, not wanting to tell them the truth yet. "You sleep with the lights on?" asked Asher. I didn't respond; I just nodded my head as I got off the bed. "Where are you going, my love?" asked Leo. "I need to change my top," I replied as I pointed to my top and headed to the bathroom. After taking my wet top off, washing my face, and putting on Leo's shirt, I walked out of the bathroom when Logan said, "We want to bring you into our pack properly. What do you think?" "Yeah, that's good. Then I will be able to mind link you all." A knock at the door interrupted us, and it was Beta Nathan. "This is everything you need, Alphas." Leo took a bag from him, closed the door, and turned to me, saying, "Let's do this." As Leo took the items out and laid them on the table, my eyes went wide when I saw the silver knife. Something inside me snapped. "You aren't coming near me with that knife," I sneered, my chain glowing. "Zoe, calm down. It's only your palm we cut, just to drop the blood. That's all; don't worry," said Logan as he put his arms around me. "Are you ready, my love? We will go first," said Leo. "Do you break all ties with the Crescent Moon Pack and the Alphas?" asked Leo as he cut his palm. "I do," I replied. "Do you swear your loyalty to us as your Alphas and to our pack members of the Bloodmoon Pack?" asked Logan as he cut his palm. "I do." "Do you promise to protect and look after your pack members as well as your new Alphas?" "I do." Leo gestured for my hand. As my hand was shaking, Leo took it in his, slicing my palm and letting the blood drip into the cup. "I now announce you as a member of the Bloodmoon Pack." "You need to drink this, my love, to seal the bond." As I took the cup to my mouth and took a sip, I felt a bond form within my heart. "You are now a full member and can mindlink," said Logan as he pulled me into his arms. Logan and Asher followed, saying, "You should get some rest, my love." I didn't want to tell them I couldn't; I was missing John. He hadn't messaged me back either, and I just hoped he was alright. "Truth be told, I can't sleep," I said. "Why? You know you can tell us anything. We won't hurt you; remember, you're our mate." "Are you going to reject me?" I blurted out. Looking at the three of them, they were shocked. "No, we aren't going to reject you, and I hope you don't reject us either." Something inside of me was over the moon and jumping for joy. Maybe it's time for me to tell them the truth. "Can you all stay with me, please?" I didn't want to ask them, but I can't sleep on my own. Everyone is going to think I'm a freak...
