Chapter Six, What happened?

1782 Words
*Alpha Asher's POV** How does Alpha Rich get away with it all? Why haven't the elders gotten involved? If we break any wolf laws, we would have them on our backs the same day. I want blood, and I want it now. I will kill Alpha Rich for what he's done—killing our men and killing our mate's mother. He's a very sick, twisted, evil, vile mafia leader, and he will be taken down. By now, we have some men searching and scouting the areas to find out what he's up to; we also have important information, all thanks to our informant. I knew it was a good idea to take her. I wouldn't have it any other way; she's our queen, our star, our world. Knowing she hates her family is a blessing; I won't feel bad when I behead him. After Zoe filled us in on her life and her past, I knew she was lying about something; I didn't know what. Making our way back to the chambers, we bumped into Logan's ex, Mia. What were the odds of this? "Have you missed me, my darling Logan?" asked Mia as she walked straight to Logan, putting her arms around his. "Why are you here?" sneered Logan as he yanked his arm back. "You can reject the nobody, and we can go back to the way we were," said Mia. "Get out of this packhouse, and don't return. If you insult our mate again, you will face death. Do you understand me?" I yelled in my alpha command. I turned to look at my mate, and I could tell she was hurting. The tears in her eyes, Logan made his way over to Zoe. "I'm sorry about that, my love. She means nothing to me; she was a friend with benefits, that's all. She's nothing to me. You're my life, and you're my mate." "Well, she thinks otherwise," replied Zoe as she started walking again. Arriving at our floor and going inside, I looked at Zoe and said, "I will order some food. Relax, my love." I ordered pizza, and it came within an hour—thank the moon goddess! We sat at the table in our kitchen and spoke to Zoe about going to college and introducing her to the pack members, as they wanted to know who she was and why she was here. I'm glad she can mind-link with us, so if anything does happen, she can contact us straight away. I didn't like the fact that she wasn't part of the pack and that she didn't have anyone to talk to. From what I can tell, she's only ever had one friend. I know I should thank John, instead of wanting to kill him. Feeling the bond snap into place with Zoe was amazing and unbelievable. The sparks and tingles were all too much; I can't wait until she's of age. After eating our food, we decided to call it a night, as it was my and Logan's night next to Zoe. But I know Zoe was still upset about what happened with Logan and Mia. We were getting into bed; I got on one side of Zoe, and Logan got on the other side. Leo was still on border control. I wondered if he was alright. I tried to mind-link him, but nothing. He's blocking my link. I decided to close my eyes, letting the tiredness take over me. As I fell asleep, letting the darkness take over, I was suddenly woken up by screaming, shouting, and crying. The smell of blood hit my nose, overwhelming my senses. I got up and stumbled a little as my head was hurting from the noise. Looking around, I didn't know where I was. How did I get here? Question after question with no answer. No one to ask; I could hear but couldn't see. I started walking towards the screaming, making sure to be quiet, as I didn't know what was happening or where I was. Arriving at a metal door, opening it, and coming into the packhouse. How did I end up here? I soon realised this is our old packhouse, where our father and mother were alive. When they died, we changed the packhouse and the gardens. We had everything new. Was I tripping? Walking to the main door with no windows, I opened the door and walked outside. There was smoke, fire, and fighting everywhere. I spotted my mother and father in the distance. Seeing them alive was overwhelming; I was happy to see them after so many years. I ran over to them, shouting, but it was like they couldn't hear me. The closer I got to them, I tried touching them, but it didn't work; my touch went right through. My mind started racing a thousand miles with thoughts. Why am I here? All of a sudden, I heard the biggest howl, and the floor shook. Turning to look around, I saw my father lying on the floor in a pool of blood, dead. Wolves were everywhere. My mother was the one who howled and dropped to her knees. I watched as two big black wolves jumped on her from behind, ripping her head off. Blood spurted everywhere. My mum dropped to the floor; she was dead. I screamed and ran over to them, but then I remembered I couldn't touch them. What is happening? It was then that I spotted Alpha Rich and his son, Alpha Shane, shifting to their human forms. Walking over to my father, Alpha Rich said, "Well, Alpha James, you didn't stand a chance against us. You were outmatched and outnumbered from the start. Don't worry, we will make your sons my bitches." I screamed so loud, but nothing happened. Nothing was stopping. I watched as the whole pack burned to nothing. The alarm stopped blasting, and a car pulled up. I watched as Alpha Rick got out with his men behind him. "Look for survivors; also, we need to find the Alpha triplets; they will need to take over." I got up from the floor when I started to see darkness in the distance. I started walking closer to where I could hear my name being shouted. It was Logan. "Asher! Asher! Wake up! Wake up now!" I heard. I was looking around and couldn't see Logan. I closed my eyes, picturing my brothers. The next minute, I opened my eyes to six pairs of eyes looking down at me with worried looks. "You won't believe what I have just been through," I told them as I sat up on the bed. "What time is it?" I asked. "How long have we been in bed for?" "The time is 4:45 AM. You were crying and shouting, thrashing your arms and legs around. We tried to wake you, but it was like your body was empty. What happened, bro?" asked Logan, with a worried look on his face. "I was thrown into the past. I saw Mum and Dad. I saw the war, the bloodshed, the screams, the cries. I shifted into my wolf to help Mum, and as I was running, the strangest thing happened: I went straight through them. It was unbelievable; it was like I was invisible. No one could hear or see me. I knew who helped rebuild the pack; it was Alpha Rick. Zoe, it was your dad who killed our mum, and your brother who killed my dad," I replied, looking at them all. Zoe tensed. "I'm sorry, I didn't know," said my gorgeous mate. "It's not your fault, my love, but why was I shown the past? Do you have any idea, my love?" I asked. "It's a vision. It's like someone from the past is trying to reach out. It's very rare for a wolf to be sent back to their past where their parents were killed. What else was in the vision? Did you see anything out of the ordinary? There's a reason you were sent back, and we need to know why. Did anyone approach you? Did you hear anything?" asked my mate as she disappeared off the bed, heading to our wardrobe. When she returned to the bed, she was holding an old-looking brown book. "What is that, Zoe?" I asked as Zoe opened the book. I got up to look at the book with her, but all the pages were blank. "What are you reading, my love? The pages are blank," I asked, confused. "This was my mum's book. It's my spellbook; it contains all the spells—both light and dark. The last pages I wrote myself before I killed my sister. My father, Alpha Rich, thought he got rid of it. What he didn't know is that my mum made a fake copy and gave me the original. She told me to hide it as it's been in her family throughout generations." Seeing Zoe concentrating made me realise something was wrong. Just how rare is it for people to have a vision of the past? "Zoe, how rare is it for this to happen?" I asked, unable to help myself. "Very, unless someone is trying to deliver a message; then it's possible you were the easy one to contact." "I got it," said Zoe with a smile, but also a glimpse of a worried look... I'm not worried, but I don't like the unexpected... "What is it?" I asked. "I need to do a spell, but I must wait to check it out properly." "You can do whatever you want to my body," I said with a smirk. What I didn't like was how she looked worried and tense, she still wasn't talking to us yet, and we couldn't push her, or we would push her away. I know she knows something about this vision; why me? Am I that easy to control? I'm an Alpha, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous. I watched my parents die, and now I will live with that memory for life, burned into my mind. I will make that pack pay. I will seek my revenge with or without my brothers... They will die, and it will be painful... They will be begging for death. Then it hit me: Shane was there, but he was a younger version of himself. I'll be sure to make him pay for the dirty, long hair and spotty face; I will have fun putting a bullet in his head... The doors to our room opened, and in came Leo. "What happened?" he asked as he looked towards me, Logan, and our mate Zoe.
